    Bright, clean campus; amenities inconsistent

I toured the campus and was impressed - bright, very clean, well-kept grounds and a friendly, informative staff. Apartments are generally spacious with full kitchens, in-unit washer/dryers and nice views (some units are smaller). The facility offers excellent amenities - restaurant-style dining, lots of activities (bingo, knitting, water aerobics, happy hour), fitness/PT/OT, pool, salon and shuttle service. Dining and service are usually good but inconsistent at times, and there were some reports of maintenance delays, laundry/dining mix-ups and occasional rude staff. It provides independent and assisted living but no memory/nursing care and extra care costs apply; assisted-living activity coordination can be uneven and may require a private aide. Overall I'd recommend it for independent living; if you need higher or consistent medical care, I'd be cautious and ask specific questions before choosing.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across reviews is mixed but leans positive for the independent-living experience and campus amenities, with more variability and concern reported for assisted living services and day-to-day operational consistency. Many reviewers emphasize that the property is beautiful, well maintained, and clean, with bright common areas, lakes, gardens, patios and a variety of pleasant outdoor spaces. Independent-living apartments are frequently described as spacious, often with full kitchens, washers/dryers, balconies or large patios, and many families praised the size, layout and modern finishes. The campus offers a wide array of amenities—restaurant-style dining, multiple meal options, supervised aquatics and exercise classes, on-site PT/OT and rehab services, salons, social rooms, and an active calendar of programs (bingo, clubs, live music, talks, happy hours and bus trips). Transportation vans and shuttle services are commonly available and appreciated.

Staff and service receive strong positive marks from many reviewers. Numerous families called out friendly, warm, and attentive staff, helpful front-desk personnel, outstanding individual caregivers (several named employees were praised), and informative tour guides/admissions teams. Several reviews highlighted excellent rehab outcomes, accommodating dining staff, concierge-like touches, and a real sense of community among residents. Cleanliness and housekeeping were frequently described as standout attributes in many accounts, and multiple reviewers explicitly recommended the property for others. For prospective residents seeking an upscale independent-living community with strong programming and amenities, these aspects are repeatedly cited as major strengths.

However, there are recurring and significant concerns that temper the positive impressions. A sizable number of reviews report inconsistent care quality and operational problems in assisted living. Specific issues include rude or disrespectful staff behavior (yelling, dismissive attitudes), staff communication breakdowns between nursing and CNAs, and new/undertrained hires leading to variability in service. Some families reported that assisted-living residents required a private aide to attend activities or to get adequate attention, effectively increasing the total cost. Maintenance responsiveness is inconsistent in some reports—examples include delayed cleanup of spills, slow or incomplete housekeeping, and laundry returned unfolded or incorrect. There are also isolated but noteworthy reports of pest sightings and front-desk/security lapses that raise safety concerns for a few families.

Dining and food quality are another mixed area. Many reviewers praise the restaurant-style dining, accommodating staff, and flexible meal delivery, while others report menu confusion, incorrect orders, bland or poor-quality meals, and overcrowded or exclusive dining in assisted areas. Social isolation during meals and dining layout issues were called out by some families as diminishing the dining experience for certain residents. Activities programming is robust overall, but several comments point to uneven execution: while water aerobics, clubs, and transportation are positives, assisted-living residents sometimes face barriers to participation and some activities (e.g., current movie selections) were criticized as not aligned with resident interest.

Cost, value, and the division between independent and assisted living emerged as a consistent theme. Many reviewers felt the independent-living experience justified the price and called the property a good value; others, particularly those dealing with assisted living concerns or extra aide costs, felt the pricing was high and the value poor. The absence of on-site memory care was explicitly mentioned as a limitation for families seeking a continuum of care within one campus. Management and operations show strengths (helpful admissions, good leadership in some locations, positive family communication) but also areas for improvement: follow-up after tours, more consistent staff training, better laundry/housekeeping protocols, and clearer communication about extra charges and service levels.

In summary, Five Star Premier Residences of Plantation presents a high-quality physical environment with extensive amenities and many caring staff members who create a welcoming community—especially in independent living. However, prospective residents and families should be aware of variability in assisted-living services, occasional operational lapses (maintenance, laundry, dining errors), staff behavior concerns reported by a portion of reviewers, and the absence of on-site memory care. Those prioritizing spacious independent units, strong rehab services, active programming and an upscale campus are likely to be satisfied; families seeking consistently managed assisted-care services without supplemental private aides should probe staffing levels, housekeeping standards, dining procedures, and security/incident response during tours and references.
