I toured this beautiful, well-maintained community and felt immediate peace of mind - rooms and common areas are very clean and secure. The staff are exceptional: friendly, attentive and professional (special thanks to Christine, Gladys and Suzanna), memory care is excellent with lots of activities, and my father is very happy, so I highly recommend it.

Summary of reviews
Reviewers present a mixed but distinct set of themes about Best Care Senior Living at Saint Joseph. Many families praised direct-care staff as compassionate, attentive, and family-oriented; individual caregivers and several admissions staff received specific commendation for easing transitions and responding to concerns. The facility operates as a secure environment with cameras and controlled access, and there is clear capacity for respite stays. Multiple accounts describe furnished, homelike rooms and active efforts to engage residents through crafts, outings, and holiday-themed memory-unit programming.
Care quality and staffing patterns appear polarized. While many experiences describe helpful, engaged caregivers who provide peace of mind, other comments raise operational concerns: a repeatedly mentioned high resident-to-staff ratio, reports of understaffing, and what some described as perfunctory monitoring (periodic checks rather than continuous engagement). There are also expressed worries about medication practices and monitoring; these should be explored directly with clinical leadership during a tour.
Dining and activities are likewise mixed. Several families noted an active activities calendar and successful efforts to gather residents for crafts and socialization. Conversely, others cited limited meal variety and inconsistencies in dining choices. Prospective residents should ask for sample menus, typical mealtimes, and how special dietary needs are accommodated.
Facility layout and physical plant merit careful attention. The campus spans multiple buildings and memory-care units are described as both decorated and dementia-aware but also smaller and sometimes shared; some memory areas require exiting the main building to reach them. Reviewers cited maintenance needs in parts of the property, periodic clutter in certain areas, and an absence of preferred bathing options (no sit-down shower in some units). Security measures (locked doors, escorted access) are in place, which supports safety but may feel restrictive for some families.
Management and governance show variability in reviewer perception. Admissions and marketing personnel earned positive mentions for being helpful and communicative, yet other accounts describe perfunctory tours and inconsistent follow-up. Most concerns about operations relate to systemic patterns—staffing levels, upkeep, and dining—while a few more serious individual allegations (including theft and retaliatory conduct) were raised; those are significant and warrant direct inquiry about policies, incident investigation procedures, and staff oversight.
Summary guidance: the facility demonstrates clear strengths in compassionate caregiving, security, and activity programming, which families found valuable. At the same time, recurring operational issues — staffing ratios, maintenance and cleanliness inconsistencies, memory-unit room size and layout, dining limitations, and at least one serious misconduct allegation — suggest prospective residents should tour with targeted questions, request unit-specific observations, review staffing rosters and care plans, and ask how clinical incidents and allegations are investigated and resolved.
