    Welcoming staff, clean, some concerns

I toured Sand Point and chose it for my dad - the staff are terrific and welcoming, the grounds and apartments are clean and nicely decorated, the food is restaurant-style, and there are plenty of activities and transportation that gave me real peace of mind. Layouts are generally comfortable and some units have in-unit washers, but a few felt small or darker and dining can be a long walk. My only cautions: occasional staff turnover, medication/delivery delays, and extra billing charges - nursing quality seemed mixed at times. Overall it fits us well and I'd recommend touring (Kayla's tour was wonderful) while confirming pricing and care policies.

    About Crescent Wood

Crescent Wood sits close to many attractions, cafes, restaurants, shopping centers, outdoor activities, and medical centers, which makes it easy for residents to enjoy outings or get to appointments, and they offer different levels of care, so whether someone needs independent living, assisted living, residential care, home care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, memory care, hospice, respite, or adult day care, there's support tailored to what each person needs, with staff who help with cooking, cleaning, home upkeep, and personal care like bathing, dressing, and medication. The community has one- and two-bedroom apartments with screened-in porches, in-unit kitchens with microwaves and refrigerators, living rooms with French doors, plush carpets, sofas, and coffee tables, and bathrooms with grab bars and large vanities, all built to help people feel comfortable and safe. There are covered walkways between buildings, grassy courtyards with patio seating, a swimming pool, hot tub, fitness center, library, social room, and spots for games like jigsaw puzzles, and people can relax on the screened-in porches or in common areas with soft chairs, greenery, and even a piano. Crescent Wood has its own dining room with tables set up with beige cloths and wooden chairs, and meals use quality ingredients and offer different choices, including vegetarian options, and for those who want, there are devotional services offsite. Residents can get to places easily with complimentary transportation, and there's parking for those who drive. If anyone uses a wheelchair or walker, bathrooms and showers are wheelchair accessible. Those who choose independent living can take part in an active retirement community with plenty of social activities and little worry about home maintenance, and those who need assisted living get help with meals, dressing, bathing, and medication in a safe setting. Memory care staff and buildings help seniors with dementia or Alzheimer's stay secure and engaged, lowering the risk of confusion and wandering and offering therapies designed for memory support. There are staff on hand to help with many needs, whether someone needs a little help or more involved support, with care that can be tailored through home care or residential care homes, so seniors can find help that matches how they want to live. Residents often enjoy day trips, games, movie nights, exercise classes, crafts, painting, and regular onsite entertainment, so there's always something to do, and screened-in porches or outdoor patios make a peaceful spot to rest. Crescent Wood maintains its licensing and standards, and people notice that the staff stays helpful and friendly, creating a setting where comfort and safety are priorities and folks can keep as independent as possible for as long as they want.
