    Kind staff, clean apartment, welcoming

I feel well cared for here - the nurses, aides and staff are genuinely kind, attentive, and easy to work with. My roomy, clean apartment and recently refreshed common areas feel homey and secure, meals and activities (bingo, Bible study, outings) keep me social, and maintenance and admissions were smooth. Great value with a welcoming, family-oriented atmosphere I happily recommend.

    Summary of reviews

Cedar Creek Assisted Living presents as a recently refreshed, mid‑sized assisted living community with several clear strengths alongside some operational weaknesses. The physical environment receives frequent praise: common areas and apartments have been renovated, halls are described as bright and clean, and facilities include a sunroom, attractive dining room, outdoor seating, and well‑kept grounds. Reviewers emphasize a home‑like atmosphere and roomy floorplans rather than luxury finishes. Maintenance responsiveness is a recurring positive, and the facility is noted as pet‑friendly and competitively priced with many services included.

Care and staffing are the dominant themes. Many families and residents describe compassionate, attentive caregivers, helpful nurses, and staff who know residents by name. Specific staff roles (nurses, CNAs, med techs, activity staff, dining staff) are often singled out for positive interaction and individualized attention. At the same time, there are consistent operational concerns: medication administration and documentation have been described as inconsistent or delayed at times, and several comments indicate high staff turnover and periods of understaffing. There are also isolated, serious allegations concerning staff behavior and substance use on premises; these are significant enough to flag as an area requiring inquiry by prospective families and regulators.

Dining and activities are mixed but generally favorable. Multiple reviewers praise meals, special events (for example root beer float parties), and a variety of on‑site programs such as bingo, Bible study, men’s club, crafts, and local outings. Conversely, food quality is described as variable—some reviewers find meals outstanding while others would like healthier or more consistent options. Activity programming is lively for residents who participate on campus, though some families note limited off‑site excursions or fewer external community outings compared with some other providers.

Management and administration show a pattern of change. Several reviewers note improvement under recent ownership or leadership changes, citing better organization, a strong business manager, and improved responsiveness during events such as storms. However, other comments point to management instability, a revolving staff roster, and examples of poor communication or unprofessional handling of family disputes. Prospective families should ask about leadership tenure, staff retention strategies, and the facility’s processes for handling complaints and care concerns.

Notable patterns for a prospective resident or family: Cedar Creek offers renovated, comfortable living spaces and a personable, home‑style culture with many staff members who are praised for individualized attention and warmth. Operational risks to evaluate in person include medication-management protocols, staffing ratios and turnover, consistency of housekeeping, and approaches to staff conduct and substance‑use prevention. Touring the facility, meeting nursing leadership, reviewing medication‑administration procedures, and asking for recent staffing and inspection records will help families weigh the strong social and environmental attributes against the operational issues raised by reviewers.
