St. Mary's Assisted Living Facility takes care of seniors in a large community with 37 beds and has services for independent living, assisted living, memory care for Alzheimer's or dementia, and skilled nursing care, and folks can stay short-term if they need respite or hospice care too, so you see a mix of people there, some who are still active and some who need more help with things like showers, clothing, using the bathroom, washing, and personal hygiene, and there's staff and medical aides around to help out with daily needs, and if someone needs help with non-ambulatory care or has incontinence or diabetes, the staff can manage those too, and meals are provided-simple homemade food, three times a day, with special menus for those with diabetes or high blood pressure, and sometimes there are up to two meals a day, but everyone gets something nutritious, and the rooms come fully furnished, with both semi-private and private options, and the community has apartment or condo style rooms for independent residents which makes everything feel more like home, and for fun and social time, there are indoor common areas where folks can gather, play board games, take part in regular events like crafts or games or music therapy, and sometimes there are outings, devotional activities, and wellness programs including exercise, outdoor trips, and even pet therapy, and you might find a book room, game room, yard spaces, or things like a jacuzzi, sauna, or a fitness area if that's something someone would use, and there's even a salon or mobile stylist service now and then, so residents can enjoy all kinds of comforts, and the facility arranges transportation to appointments, errands, or church too, and laundry and housekeeping keep personal spaces clean, and all care is supervised under the Florida Department of Social Services, with the community serving mostly folks aged 55 or 62 and up, focusing on supporting independence but stepping in when extra care is needed, and everything's planned to help folks stay active, healthy, and involved as much as they want to be.
