    Excellent caring staff, limited activities

I chose this facility for a loved one and have been very pleased - the staff are wonderful, experienced, hands-on and treat residents like family; the owners live on-site and the director is understanding and courteous. The home-like building is light, airy, clean, spacious and secure, and meals are good (though lunch is served late, around 2:00 PM). Activities are limited and many residents aren't able to participate; they provided helpful VA information but do not accept VA or Medicare, so plan accordingly. Overall I see amazing, individualized care, comfort, love and respect - I recommend this facility.

    Summary review

The reviews for Generous Care Giving present an overwhelmingly positive picture of the facility, with recurring emphasis on the quality of personal care and the warmth of the staff. Multiple reviewers use adjectives such as "wonderful," "excellent," "amazing," and "outstanding" to describe caregiving. Comments consistently highlight hands-on, individualized attention: caregivers are described as generous, experienced, and treating residents like family. This strong focus on individualized, compassionate care appears to be the facility's defining strength and is reinforced by direct recommendations and statements of no complaints from residents or families.

Facility and environment receive notably positive feedback. Reviewers repeatedly mention that the home is clean, neat, light, airy, and spacious, with a country or home-like feel. The property is described as comfortable and relaxed, and the presence of owners living on-site contributes to a sense of engaged, attentive management. Security is called out as good, and the overall physical setup and ambiance appear to support a calm, comfortable resident experience.

Staffing and management are another clear strength. Reviewers speak positively about the director, calling them understanding and courteous, and mention helpfulness with VA information — suggesting staff take time to assist families with benefit-related questions. The hands-on nature of the caregiving staff and the experienced personnel are major positives that reviewers repeatedly highlight. These comments, together with reports that residents are treated with love and respect, point to an emotionally supportive culture and consistent staff behavior.

Dining and activity programming are mixed areas. Food is generally described positively, yet at least one reviewer raised a concrete concern about meal timing, noting lunch served as late as 2:00 PM and framing this as a potential issue with routine scheduling. Activity-related feedback is limited and leans negative: reviewers note limited activities and that the majority of residents may not be capable of participating. This could reflect a resident population with significant care needs, but it is nonetheless a point that prospective families should investigate further if engagement and programmed activities are priorities.

A notable logistical and financial constraint appears in the reviews: despite staff helping with VA information, the facility reportedly does not accept VA benefits or Medicare. That juxtaposition — assistance with VA information but not accepting VA or Medicare — is important for prospective residents to clarify with management, as it affects payment options and eligibility for financial support. Another mild concern is potential rigidity of daily routines, which was mentioned alongside the late-lunch report and may be worth exploring in a tour or conversation with staff.

In summary, Generous Care Giving is characterized by strong, personalized caregiving, a warm home-like environment, cleanliness, and engaged management. The dominant sentiment is highly positive, with repeated recommendations and praise for staff kindness and competence. Prospective residents and families should, however, ask specific questions about activity programming, daily schedules (including meal times), and payment/benefit acceptance (VA and Medicare) to ensure the facility aligns with their expectations and needs.

    About Generous Care Giving

Generous Care Giving sits in Buford, GA as a personal care home and board and care facility that's been operated by the same family for over 26 years, with more than 40 years of shared experience in dementia and Alzheimer's care, and you'll often spot the same friendly staff faces each week, which helps everyone feel more at home because when you walk the halls, you notice the routine and see the staff know who needs help with eating, bathing, grooming, or even just getting from a chair to a bed, and you realize that the care plans get built around each resident so their needs set the pace for support, whether that's help with small tasks or total care including incontinence or diabetic care, as well as medication management coordinated by nurses who are either on staff or on call if there's a medical need that pops up, plus you notice that safety measures like emergency alert systems and 24/7 monitoring make a difference for peace of mind, all while finding resident rooms that come furnished, with wheelchair accessible showers and community walking paths or gardens just outside for anyone who wants some fresh air, and the shared spaces, like meeting and event rooms, offer a spot for movie nights, creative arts classes, or monthly gatherings tied to the Gwinnett Senior Provider Network for members and guests to build connections if they like. Meals here come scheduled but also with options for all-day dining, and you'll see many residents gather in the dining room, where meals get made with a home-cooked approach and attention to allergies or special diets like diabetic-friendly foods, giving everyone choices at the table, while the staff handle laundry, housekeeping, and even transportation, whether it's a shopping trip or just a ride somewhere, and residents come and go thanks to parking for those with cars and accessible spots for everyone else. Management, which includes Ms. Jeanea Zamora and Mr. Raymond Butler, runs the place as a Limited Liability Company, accepting most major credit cards as well as insurance. The community, with its focus on giving elders a "Home Away From Home" and letting them keep independence in their own residences, has indoor and outdoor amenities, along with special programs meant to strengthen quality of life, and the supportive environment, complete with staff trained in elder and adult care, healthcare management, and skilled home health services, helps folks age in place with dignity, respect, and comfort, whether they're men or women. Generous Care Giving runs with regular weekday and weekend hours and offers a warm, calm setting that believes in the right of older adults to both freedom and attentive help for daily tasks or medical needs, all in a quiet part of the community where people can enjoy the gardens or just a meal with friends.
