    Safe comfortable clean home-like care

I placed my mom here and couldn't be happier - she's safe, comfortable, and immaculately clean in a beautiful, home-like room. Florica and Jon provide warm, hands-on, high-quality care (hand-fed, bathed regularly), mom is healthy and no longer plagued by UTIs, the house smells fresh, and I have real peace of mind - I highly recommend them.

    Summary of reviews

Sunshine Residential Care presents as a small, private-home model that delivers strongly individualized, hands-on care. Multiple reviewers emphasize attentive daily care tasks—regular bathing, assistance with feeding, and close hygiene attention—which families linked to clinical improvements such as fewer urinary-tract infections. The facility is consistently described as clean, orderly, and odor-free, with comfortable, well-appointed private rooms and a peaceful atmosphere that many families found reassuring.

Management and staff are portrayed as warm and accessible. Owners named in reviews are described as personally involved and welcoming, and several families credited them with providing peace of mind. The staffing approach appears to prioritize one-on-one attention and an intimate caregiving relationship rather than an institutional model. At the same time, there are operational concerns to consider: one review noted an alleged theft from a staff storage area and another referenced a caregiver departure, which together suggest potential gaps in staff supervision and property-security controls. Prospective families should ask about staff vetting, oversight procedures, and safeguards for resident belongings during visits.

Clinical routines such as medication administration and feeding are handled in a personalized manner; reviewers noted plans to medicate and active assistance with feeding when required. The facility’s small scale supports tailored care but limits the scope of on-site services typically found in larger communities. Dining is described in the context of personal assistance rather than as a formalized congregate program; families seeking structured meal services and varied culinary programming should confirm expectations during a tour.

Social programming and activity variety are the clearest limitations. The private-home setting yields a quieter environment with few organized group outings unless coordinated by family members. Several reviewers described insufficient social interaction or that “nothing was going on,” indicating that residents who value frequent group activities, entertainment, or community outings may find the offering limited. Families should clarify the weekly activity schedule, availability of transportation for external trips, and the facility’s approach to social engagement.

In summary, Sunshine Residential Care appears well suited to residents who need close, personalized assistance in a clean, calm, and home-like setting and who place a high priority on hygiene and individualized attention. It may be less appropriate for those seeking an active social calendar or extensive organized programming. Before moving forward, visitors should tour the home, discuss activity plans and medication protocols, and ask specific questions about staff oversight and property-security measures to address the operational concerns noted by reviewers.

    About Sunshine Residential Care

Sunshine Residential Care sits at 3949 Pine Gorge Circle in Dacula, Georgia, in a simple ranch house, and only takes five residents at a time, which means folks get a close, family-style setting that feels pretty personal, which can matter to people who don't want a crowd. The staff runs things with a 24-hour presence, and they've got nurses on site, so help is never far away. Residents at Sunshine Residential Care can get assisted living or residential care, and the staff is trained for Alzheimer's and dementia care, diabetes care, Parkinson's care, heart and stroke care, and even high-acuity and hospice services, and they keep up with personal care like bathing, dressing, incontinence, medication management, and all the activities of daily living, so folks get the help they need without losing all flexibility. They offer special programs and use unique names for some services and activities, though everything comes with a straightforward touch, from memory care for folks with Alzheimer's to support for independent, active seniors.

People staying here eat one or two home-cooked meals a day, and the menu focuses on healthy, quality ingredients with extra snacks, plus an on-site dietitian makes sure no one misses the good stuff their doctor wants. The living quarters come in studio, semi-private rooms, or one-bedroom options, so residents choose what fits best, and each room can have cable TV, high definition TVs, and private baths, with some units having roll-in showers for easy wheelchair use. Activities show up on the calendar often, like social events, walking paths, and on-site chapel services, plus residents can visit the salon or barbershop or settle in for a movie in the little theater, and they even help folks who want to bring a small pet. Guests can park easily, and the common spaces are indoors and outdoors, offering chances to mingle or just relax.

Sunshine Residential Care does family outreach and education to help everyone understand what's going on, which often brings peace to loved ones. They keep safety in mind with clear handicap features and a no smoking policy inside, and because it's small, they can tailor care for each person depending on their condition or a doctor's diagnosis, even down to spoon feeding or special speech and occupational therapies. Housekeeping and laundry are part of the services, so residents don't need to fuss with those chores, plus there's a community kitchen folks can use if they want. They accept private pay and VA benefits, but not Medicaid or Medicare unless certified, and their minimum age requirements help focus on people who truly need support. The facility scores a 3.0-star Very Good rating and stays family-oriented, offering transportation, devotional activities, and Christian services, making it practical for many backgrounds. Basically, Sunshine Residential Care offers a simpler, quieter setting with most daily needs taken care of and extra help for people with memory loss or chronic illnesses, which gives families a bit more peace as their loved one settles in.
