    Beautiful views, caring staff, concerns

I love the community - the views of the mountains and skies are breathtaking, the facility is beautiful and restful, rooms are clean, and the staff (Vicky, Diane, Missy and many others) are caring, attentive and family-like; my loved one is happy and well cared for. That said, the location isn't ideal and I've seen worrying issues (dirty kitchen/mold, broken appliances, occasional inexperienced or rude staff and lapses in medication/management) so visit carefully. Overall I'd recommend it and would want to live here when I'm older.

    Summary review

The reviews paint a strongly mixed but predominantly positive picture of Serenity Mountain Manor, with a large majority of comments praising the location, the staff, and the lived experience of residents, while a smaller but significant subset of reviews raises serious operational and safety concerns. Most reviewers highlight the facility's striking mountain views and peaceful setting, describing it as beautiful, restful, and a place where families create wonderful memories. Many family members explicitly state that their loved ones are happy and well-cared-for, and several reviewers say they personally would like to live there in the future. "Clean living quarters," well-groomed residents, good food (breakfast), and comfortable common areas recur as positive points, contributing to an overall sense that the community provides a pleasant daily environment.

Staff and care quality are the most frequently praised elements. Numerous reviews describe staff as friendly, loving, attentive, and compassionate—often going "above and beyond" and taking personal pride in their work. Several reviews call out specific staff members (Vicky, Diane, Missy) and identify an administrator who is conscientious and deeply caring. Families repeatedly mention a family-like atmosphere where they feel welcome and included. These strengths support the many recommendations and high overall satisfaction ratings found in the feedback.

However, the positive narrative is counterbalanced by a cluster of serious allegations and operational criticisms that cannot be ignored. Multiple reviews allege unsanitary conditions in the kitchen (including mold), broken appliances, and cheap maintenance practices. More concerning are claims about staff competence and safety: some reviewers allege inexperienced or rude staff, and a number of comments assert that unqualified personnel were administering medications or that medication administration practices are unsafe. There are also explicit accusations that state evaluations were fudged, which—if true—would raise regulatory and compliance red flags. A specific accessibility and safety issue is reported: non-ambulatory residents were admitted to a top-floor bedroom where a stretcher was inaccessible, indicating potential lapses in admission screening, room assignment protocols, or emergency planning.

Management and organizational issues appear conflicted in the reviews. While the on-the-ground administrator and many frontline staff are praised for genuine care and commitment, several reviewers describe owners or higher-level management as "shady" or excessively cheap. This dichotomy suggests that staff at the facility level may be compensating for resource or policy shortcomings imposed from above. Multiple reviewers also note that staff could use more training, which aligns with complaints about medication handling and resident accessibility. In short, there is evidence of strong person-to-person caregiving but potential weaknesses in training, oversight, and facility upkeep.

For prospective residents and families, the reviews suggest a few practical takeaways. The community appears to offer an emotionally supportive, scenic, and comfortable environment with many caring staff members and strong family inclusion. At the same time, the safety and regulatory allegations are serious enough that families should perform due diligence: ask for recent state inspection and compliance reports, inquire about medication administration policies and staff qualifications, request documentation of staff training, verify how the facility screens and places non-ambulatory residents (and which rooms are equipped for stretcher access), and ask how maintenance issues (kitchen, appliances, mold) are tracked and remediated. Visit the facility multiple times, including mealtimes and medication pass times if possible, and speak directly with the administrator about any specific concerns.

In summary, Serenity Mountain Manor is repeatedly praised for its compassionate staff, family atmosphere, and exceptional mountain setting—qualities that make many residents and families very happy. Nevertheless, recurring and serious allegations about cleanliness, maintenance, medication safety, accessibility, and management integrity introduce significant concerns. The overall pattern is one of a warm, well-loved community with some potentially critical operational vulnerabilities; these should be investigated thoroughly by anyone considering the facility for themselves or a loved one.
