    Compassionate staff and excellent care

I had a very good experience at this facility: clean rooms with private baths, a calming atmosphere, excellent activities and nutrition, and thoughtful unique features. The compassionate, skilled staff responded quickly, provided family-like care, and handled insurance/medical paperwork smoothly. I'd recommend it for short- or long-term stays and would make it my first choice; I'm hopeful about availability.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression Review language is uniformly positive, portraying Golden Age Personal Care Home as a small, well-maintained facility with a strong emphasis on person-centered caregiving. Reviewers emphasize compassionate, family-like staff interactions and skilled clinical personnel who are responsive to resident needs. The facility is repeatedly described as having a pleasant, calming atmosphere that supports both short-term and long-term placements. Care quality and staff Care is presented as attentive and clinically competent. Comments point to rapid responses to needs and skilled nursing/clinical staff; a hospice professional specifically recommended the facility, indicating established end-of-life coordination. Staff are described as friendly and caring, and the overall tone suggests consistent, respectful staff–resident interactions and an environment that families find reassuring. Dining and activities The facility is characterized by a robust activities program and a strong nutrition/dining program. Reviewers highlight engaging programming and attention to meal quality and nutrition, suggesting an active social calendar and meal service aligned with resident needs. Facilities and accommodations Physical accommodations receive positive notes: cleanliness, private bathrooms, and a calming interior are repeatedly mentioned. The combination of private facilities and a home-like environment is described as a good match for families seeking a comfortable, residential setting for their relative. Management and administrative matters Reviewers report an easy transition with insurance and medical paperwork, implying competent administrative support during move-in and care coordination. That said, public commentary on broader administrative practices and formal policies is limited in the available summaries, so assessment of management depth is primarily based on the described intake and coordination experience. Notable patterns and considerations The available commentary is overwhelmingly favorable, which makes strengths (compassionate staff, strong activities, good nutrition, hospice collaboration) clear and consistent. A potential service limitation surfaced indirectly: expressions of hope regarding availability suggest limited capacity or occasional waitlists. Additionally, there is sparse public detail about specialized clinical offerings (for example, explicit memory-care or intensive rehabilitation programs) and limited information about administrative transparency beyond move-in coordination. Prospective residents and families should verify current bed availability, inquire about specific clinical services relevant to their needs, and request administrative documentation (policies, staffing levels, and care plans) during tours or intake discussions to ensure the facility meets their clinical and logistical requirements.

About Golden Age Personal Care Home

Golden Age Personal Care Home sits at 1399 Harris Road in Lawrenceville, Georgia, and works as a board and care home that offers assisted living, nursing home care, and specialized memory care in a homelike setting. Owned by Ms. Tabita Pop and run as a corporation, this facility covers several business categories, offering everything from home health and home care to healthcare linen services. It's licensed in Georgia as a personal care home and serves as an alternative to larger nursing homes, focusing on residents who need help with daily living, like bathing, dressing, transfers, medication management, and diabetic care, with specially trained staff on site 24 hours a day. The property provides a high staff-to-resident ratio, private and semi-private furnished rooms, and accessible bathrooms, some with wheelchair-accessible showers. Residents can enjoy indoor and outdoor areas, walking paths, a garden, and a dining room where people serve meals that respect a range of diets, including kosher, vegetarian, diabetes-friendly, and allergy-sensitive needs, and staff can help with all meals and daily chores like laundry and housekeeping.

For people with greater needs or dementia, the community has a secure purpose-built memory care area in its own building, fitted with a computerized wander alert system, emergency alert bracelets, and safety features to keep residents safe. Staff support residents at all care levels, even those needing full help with personal activities, and can provide everything from supervision to mechanical lift transfers for non-ambulatory residents. Nurses and allied healthcare providers like physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and podiatrists visit regularly, helping residents manage health issues, including insulin shots and blood sugar tests. The personal care home has daily planned activities-creative arts, movie nights, shared meals, shopping trips, and more-along with community-sponsored programming to keep people active and engaged, all in a setting that aims to feel welcoming and calm.

Move-in services help new residents settle in, and the staff arranges transportation for outings or appointments. Amenities were set up to offer comfort and ease, including private baths, furnished rooms, and safety technology, while support services bring dignity and respect to each resident. Staff work on the same schedule so residents see familiar faces, building a sense of trust and stable relationships. Families can find peace of mind with features like secured properties, awake staff all night, and quick staff response to emergencies. The facility holds a BBB accreditation with an A+ rating and keeps hours by appointment every day, always emphasizing honest, attentive care and the well-being of those who live there.
