    Small close-knit community, personalized care

I placed my dad here and would give it a 10/10 - a small, close-knit community with very personalized care (Anne is personable). The remodeled home is beautiful, very clean and spacious with large rooms and a big shared bath; they plan outings and trips, have a new van, accept VA and Medicaid, and are conveniently near I-20/Lee Road. Note: it's multi-level with stair-lifts and not ideal for advanced Alzheimer's care.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the reviews for Divine Connections Assisted is strongly positive. Multiple commenters describe the residence as remodeled, very clean, spacious, and inviting, and family members consistently express high satisfaction — including explicit high ratings (10/10) and statements that they would definitely recommend the home. Reviewers highlight a warm, home-like atmosphere and characterize the community as small with a close family feeling, which many see as an advantage for personalized attention and a comforting environment for residents.

Facilities and physical environment are repeatedly praised. Reviewers note large private rooms and an attractive, beautiful home after remodeling. The property is described as spacious with large shared bathing facilities and multiple levels; accessibility is addressed with stair-lifts. There is a new van available, which supports resident transportation for appointments and outings. The convenient location near the I-20 Lee Road exit is mentioned as a positive logistical point. Management and frontline personnel receive favorable comments — for example, one review specifically calls out Anne as personable and leaving a positive impression for a resident’s family member.

Activities and daily life appear to be well supported. Several reviews mention planned trips and regular outings/activities, and the presence of the new van helps enable these outings. This suggests a focus on engagement and social activity for residents rather than a purely custodial model of care. Financial accessibility is also noted: the facility accepts VA benefits and Medicaid, which can be an important factor for many families when evaluating options.

Notable concerns are limited but important. Reviewers explicitly state the home is not ideal for Alzheimer's or advanced dementia patients; this is the clearest limitation mentioned and suggests the facility is geared more toward general assisted living needs rather than specialized memory-care services. The multi-level layout, while mitigated by stair-lifts, could still present mobility or safety considerations for some residents, so prospective families should evaluate individual mobility needs. The large shared bath is mentioned as a feature; some may view shared bathing facilities as a privacy or comfort concern depending on personal preferences and care requirements.

Patterns across the reviews point to a small, well-maintained, personable assisted living option that emphasizes a family-like atmosphere, personalized care, and resident activities. Most feedback centers on positive impressions from families and visible investments in the home and transportation. Areas not addressed in the provided reviews include specifics about dining quality, medical/medication management, staff-to-resident ratios, licensing details, and cost specifics; prospective residents or families should follow up on those topics directly with the facility. In summary, Divine Connections Assisted appears well suited for individuals seeking a clean, spacious, home-like assisted living environment with active programming and personalized attention, but it may not be appropriate for those requiring specialized dementia care or who have significant mobility limitations that make a multi-level layout problematic.

The community allows both men and women, and even small pets can stay, though there's no smoking indoors or in public areas, but a separate outdoor space lets smokers have a place too. Divine Connections Assisted has a team of certified staff always on hand for emergencies, day or night, and there's a licensed RN and nursing staff who handle medication management, high acuity needs, and case management, plus diabetes support including insulin help if needed.

For folks who need a little extra help getting dressed, bathing, using the toilet, or moving from one place to another-even those who require a two-person transfer-the staff steps in to assist, and customized care plans along with regular physician check-ins help make sure health needs don't get missed, whether you're dealing with diabetes, needing incontinence care, or looking for memory care including Alzheimer's support. Daily routines can feel easy with three home-cooked meals, snacks any time, and menus tailored to special diets or vegetarian diets. Residents don't need to worry about housework, because there are weekly housekeeping, daily bed making, personal laundry, and all utilities included, and there's always someone to help maintain the home or change a light bulb when needed.

People staying at Divine Connections Assisted can get around without trouble using the stair lift if stairs are hard, and wheelchair accessible showers make bathing safer. You'll notice helpful touches in every room, like non-slip floors, emergency call buttons, and accessible storage spaces, meant to make moving about easier and safer, and safety checks and secure grounds help families feel calmer about their loved ones' well-being. The atmosphere stays lively, with on-site activities, games, social nights, music, movies, exercise programs, and arts or crafts, plus devotional and spiritual events held in the chapel for anyone interested, and when folks need a breath of fresh air, there are outdoor sitting areas, garden beds for those who want to dig and plant, and an easy spot for relaxation.

There's a resident dining hall where everyone gathers for meals, an on-site pharmacy for quick medicine runs, and community spaces like game rooms, a book room, a theater, beauty and barber shop, and even a hot tub and steam area for health and comfort. Divine Connections takes care to offer transportation for shopping, doctor's visits, and spiritual services, and a new van now lets the group go out together for planned outings. The staff can help with scheduling recreational trips, activities both inside and outside the facility, and there's space for family parking if visitors want to stop in. Folks who want to bring their own furniture can do so, or room can be furnished for ease, and whether someone comes in for long-term care, respite stays, hospice, rehabilitation, or personal care services, the care team aims for self-reliance and independence, working alongside everyone to set up what matters most to them. Divine Connections Assisted keeps its focus on small-community comfort, individual support, and a peaceful place for seniors who want to feel at home as they age.
