    About Thrive at Brow Wood

Thrive at Brow Wood sits on Lookout Mountain and was made by local residents who wanted a place they'd feel comfortable living in, and here the focus stays on helping people lead healthy and fulfilling lives with care that changes as the person needs it-there's independent living for folks who like things easy and social, assisted living for those who might need help with things like bathing, dressing, or taking medicine, and memory care for seniors with Alzheimer's or other dementias, where a certified team helps provide a safe, tailored environment with activities to match different abilities and interests. The building's all on one level and has big windows that let in lots of natural light, which plenty say makes it feel like a mountain resort, with timbers and stone and open spaces, and suites vary in size, with some memory care suites about 241 to 336 square feet and assisted living suites ranging from 361 to 470 square feet, all with private bathrooms, kitchenettes, climate control, and lots of closet space, and people can bring their own things to decorate, so it'll feel more like home. Residents eat meals right there, have staff on hand around the clock for help and medicine, and don't have to worry about housekeeping, laundry, or fixing things, plus there's help with transportation for trips out, and if families need a short-term stay, they offer respite care too. There's a big focus on being active, so every week's full of social, educational, and entertaining programs-movie nights in the community theater, chances to learn, mentor, or dance, gentle exercise with equipment that's easy on joints, and loads of activities both onsite and off, which helps people make friends and feel less alone. There are outdoor and indoor areas to gather, space for worship, a beauty salon, strong Wi-Fi, and policies that let residents have pets, and everything's designed to be easy to get around for people with disabilities. Staff use electronic health records that can be shared with doctors, so health info stays up to date and coordinated, and the community works with outside healthcare partners for added support. Thrive at Brow Wood's been open since April 2016, and over the years, it's built a reputation as a friendly place where staff and residents know each other well, where people can watch the mountains, make new friends, and stay active, and where choices and independence matter, whether someone needs just a little help or a lot, with care options that can change as life changes too.
