    Warm community with excellent dining

I moved my mom in and have been very pleased. Friendly, attentive staff and on-site managers create a warm, engaged community with happy residents. The facility is beautiful, clean and bright with a cruise-ship vibe-roomy apartments with full kitchens, great amenities (theater, gym, atrium, walking paths) and solid security. Dining is a highlight-chef-driven menus, 24/7 snacks, prime rib Sundays and flexible meal options-and activities and transportation are plentiful. I would recommend this community to families.

    Summary of reviews

Vickery Rose Retirement Resort presents as a high-amenity, hospitality-focused community with a strong emphasis on social life and dining. Multiple reviewers describe a bright, modern facility with resort- and cruise-ship-inspired design elements — large atrium and waterfall features, a sizable theater, gym and spa-like spaces, card and game rooms, and an array of small venues (arcade, library, general store). Apartments are characterized as roomy and well-equipped (full kitchens, GE appliances, patios/balconies, in-unit washer/dryer in many units). The property offers scheduled transportation for shopping and outings, and many families found the general environment welcoming and easy to navigate.

Care and staff interactions are commonly cited as one of the community's strongest attributes. Reviewers use language that emphasizes attentiveness, patience, and warmth from front-desk personnel, dining servers, and on-site management. Several comments highlight managers who live on-site and active staff continuity, which appears to support familiarity with residents and a sense of community. The overall tenor in most accounts is of staff who are proactive in engagement, assistive during transitions, and effective at creating a social atmosphere.

Dining and programming are central selling points. The dining program is described as chef-driven with multiple formats — formal dining, cafeteria-style options, and a 24-hour snack/anytime-dining offering — and reviewers frequently praise variety, accommodation of special requests, and themed events (Sunday prime rib, brunches, open bar offerings). A broad calendar of activities (exercise, mind-body-spirit classes, book and puzzle clubs, karaoke, dances, outings) supports active resident engagement and contributes to a lively, intergenerational feel when family and grandchildren visit.

Facilities and amenities receive consistently positive remarks for design and upkeep, though there are operational caveats. Many reviewers note clean, bright common areas and well-maintained grounds and parking; however, a subset of reviewers described delays or inconsistencies in housekeeping and maintenance completion. There are also notes that outdoor walking paths are limited for those seeking extensive on-site walking routes.

Management and operational patterns present a mixed picture. While on-site managers and several staff members are singled out for strong performance and responsiveness, a recurring theme is uneven communication and follow-through from leadership at times — examples include delays in appliance delivery, housekeeping scheduling gaps, and challenges reaching management during specific issues. A few reviewers described incidents that raise concerns about privacy and financial-boundary safeguards; these accounts are serious in nature and would merit direct inquiry during a tour. Additionally, perceptions of value vary: some residents view the all-inclusive pricing as strong value given the amenities and meals, while others express concern about the overall monthly cost.

In summary, Vickery Rose appears to be a well-appointed, activity-rich community with a hospitality orientation and many families reporting positive life changes after moving in. The strongest patterns are in staff engagement, dining variety, and amenity breadth. Prospective residents and families should prioritize in-person evaluation of management responsiveness, clarify housekeeping and maintenance service timelines, ask specific questions about privacy and financial-protection policies, and review fee structure and move-in logistics to ensure the community’s operational practices match expectations.

    About Vickery Rose Retirement Resort

Vickery Rose Retirement Resort stands in Roswell, Georgia, with a three-story building and a warm, small community feel where staff and residents know each other by name, which makes it feel familiar and welcoming. Apartments come in different sizes-you'll find studios, one, two, or three-bedroom options, with floor plans ranging from about 566 to 1206 square feet, each with full-size kitchens, custom cabinets, washer and dryer hook-ups, and walk-in closets, and many apartments have balconies or decks so residents can enjoy some fresh air. The community welcomes those aged 55 and up, and the pet-friendly policy means residents can have pets with no extra fee, which is something a lot of people appreciate because having a pet can make a place feel more like home.

Meals are included, since the Freedom Dining program gives everyone three chef-prepared meals a day and offers several dining options, including a formal dining room, a casual buffet, a chef's pantry, or room service if someone doesn't feel up to going out. For residents who need some extra help, there are assisted living services with personal support for daily tasks, and skilled nursing care is available for folks who need it, along with separate memory care and respite care programs for people with Alzheimer's, dementia, or those recovering from injury or surgery. Safety is important here, and the building has 24/7 security, a staff presence at all times, and an emergency alert system in every apartment. Managers live on-site to offer support and handle anything that comes up, day or night.

Vickery Rose has a lot to do, both inside and out, for mind, body, and spirit, and there are always community events led by a Lifestyle Director, including group fitness classes, games in the billiards room, computer lessons, or movies in the 150-seat stadium theater. The indoors spaces-like the library, theater room, arcade, business center, spa, bar lounge, and fitness center-are modern and comfortable, while the grounds have landscaped gardens, a walking path, pond, and gazebo so residents can sit, walk, or chat with family under the trees. Transportation services help folks get to shopping and nearby restaurants if they want to go out. There's also a Resident Travel Program so residents can visit other Resort Lifestyle Communities across the country.

Amenities are all-inclusive: housekeeping, maintenance, Wi-Fi, cable, utilities, parking, and valet are part of the community's regular services. Residents can schedule hair, foot care, or therapy appointments, and get meals delivered if needed. The atmosphere is easy-going and friendly, with plenty of conversation areas where people gather-residents have the freedom to arrange their days as they like and decorate their homes to suit their taste, which is nice since a place doesn't always feel like home right away. Vickery Rose has a high community score of 9.5, with verified services, on-site management, and detailed photographs available for people who want to learn more. The community supports families by answering questions and encouraging them to stay involved. Vickery Rose is designed for people looking for independent living, assisted living, or continuing care in one spot, so as care needs change, residents can get the support they need without moving somewhere else. The community is clean, bright, and welcoming, and it's built around giving people choices about how they live each day.
