    Warm family-owned facility, attentive staff

I appreciate Mulberry Grove's warm, family-owned feel - a pretty, very clean facility with sunrooms, screened porches, great activities, excellent meals, on-site salon/pharmacy and attentive medical support. The staff (Patti, Emily, Carolyn and team) are compassionate, professional, and treated my mom like family; she's happier and engaged. My main reservation: billing and transparency about money were evasive and I couldn't get a refund, so clarify finances up front. Overall, a wonderful option for someone needing light-moderate care.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the reviews for Mulberry Grove Senior Living is strongly positive, with a clear emphasis on the quality and character of the staff and the family-owned, resident-centered culture. Reviewers repeatedly describe the team as friendly, professional, compassionate and attentive, often using words like 'amazing,' 'welcoming,' and 'treats residents like family.' Several staff members are named and singled out for exceptional performance (for example, Patti/Patti Moody, Emily, Carolyn, and Mike), and multiple families explicitly state they trust the staff 100 percent and would highly recommend the community.

Care quality emerges as a consistent strength. Families note attentive, above-and-beyond care, good medication management (including medication packaging to reduce errors), an on-site pharmacy, and access to allied providers such as a podiatrist and hairstylist. Reviewers mention positive impacts on residents' wellbeing and cognition from staff attention and activities, and some accounts describe very specific examples of staff availability and follow-up calls to families when issues arise. However, there is a recurring caution that Mulberry Grove may be better suited for residents with lower to moderate care needs; at least one review explicitly said the facility felt 'suitable for someone needing less care.' That pattern suggests the community excels in assisted living or independent living services but may not be positioned as a higher-acuity skilled nursing option.

Facilities, dining, and amenities receive frequent praise. The building and common areas are described as very clean, pretty, and home-like, with sunrooms, screened-in porches, bird feeders, a piano in the lobby, and dedicated visiting spaces that encourage socializing. Rooms are described as nice and include accessible features such as low-step showers. The dining program is repeatedly called out as excellent, with three meals daily plus two snacks, and reviewers say residents enjoy the food. The activity program is active and varied — sing-alongs, exercise groups, Bible study, salon services, and brain-stimulation activities are specifically mentioned — and families point to an activity director who engages residents and helps maintain social interaction.

Management and ownership style are important themes. Mulberry Grove is frequently praised for being locally and family-owned with a values-driven mission that prioritizes residents over corporate objectives. Several reviewers highlight the 'family atmosphere' and pride among staff and residents. Communication is often described as unsurpassed — staff availability, proactive calls to families, and COVID-19 support are cited positively. At the same time, a notable and repeated negative theme involves financial transparency and billing. A subset of reviewers reported evasiveness about money, lack of transparency about events or decisions, issues with refunds, and an experience they characterized as 'not the best' related to financial matters. While these reports are not universal, they are specific and significant enough to surface as a pattern that prospective families should address directly when touring or comparing options.

In summary, Mulberry Grove Senior Living is consistently portrayed as a warm, well-run, small community with high marks for staff quality, cleanliness, engaging activities, and on-site services. The family-owned, resident-first philosophy and individualized staff interactions are central to its appeal. Prospective residents and families who prioritize a home-like environment, strong personal relationships with caregivers, active social programming, and good dining are likely to find Mulberry Grove an excellent fit. Those who require higher-acuity clinical services or who have strong concerns about billing practices should ask targeted questions during the tour: clarify the exact level of medical care provided, request written explanations of fees, refund policies, and billing procedures, and seek references about financial communication. Doing so will help ensure expectations about care level and financial transparency match what Mulberry Grove offers.

    About Mulberry Grove Senior Living

Mulberry Grove Senior Living has a warm and friendly staff that helps both residents and visitors feel welcome, and everyone gets treated with kindness because the team is always cheerful, joyful, and ready to help out no matter the day. Meals get planned by chefs and meal planners who care about good food, taste, and nutrition, so residents have three home-cooked meals each day and snacks are always available, which makes mealtime feel a bit like a bed and breakfast, and the dining room stays open for all-day, restaurant-style dining, while those who need it can get meals delivered right to their rooms. There's a focus on brain stimulation activities, especially for folks with early Alzheimer's, because staying active and engaged helps improve quality of life, and the social and activity programs stretch across everything from arts and crafts to educational and music programs, hobbies, and even fun movie nights and literary clubs, and all this engagement happens in both big community rooms and cozy, furnished spaces. Seniors who love the outdoors can walk the pathways, spend time in the gardens, or just relax in pet-friendly areas, and for residents who like to stay connected, the facility offers WiFi and cable TV in their rooms plus community computer rooms for learning and socializing, while those who want to keep up their fitness can use wellness programs and visit the salon for a haircut or spa day since a barber/salon is right on-site.

Memory care amenities help residents with Alzheimer's or dementia by giving them a safe place that prevents wandering and offers therapies, and residents who need daily help get assistance with bathing, dressing, medication, and transferring, which lets them keep as much independence as possible while staying safe, especially since there's a 24-hour emergency alert system and supervision throughout the community. The staff also guides families with counseling services, and their dedicated team strives to understand everyone, making sure each resident feels respected and cared for, while short-term respite stays let caregivers take a break or help someone recover from an illness. Transportation and parking services cover getting out for trips, shopping, and errands, and there's guest parking for family visits, so people can come and go easily, and all needs like housekeeping, laundry, linen service, and even move-in help get managed for residents. Mulberry Grove Senior Living also has special programs called "Nourish" and "Class Act," plus structured schedules for activities and therapy, including physical therapy and rehabilitation services, with options for people who might not be able to move around easily. There's support for religious practices and help available for veterans through VA Aid Assistance, and for end-of-life care, hospice and in-home healthcare services are available with reminders for medication and extra guidance from personal care assistants.

There are several floor plans, including kitchenettes, and all units have internet and TV access, while communal living spaces and activity rooms allow for gathering, sharing meals, and socializing. Security and care teams are around day and night for anyone who needs help, and all services-from medication management to wellness checks-are done by trained staff who focus on compassionate and reliable care, with a real effort to make the community feel peaceful, like home, and supportive for every resident, whether they're staying for a short recovery or making Mulberry Grove their new home.
