    Compassionate professional care and support

I'm very pleased with the care my mom received - Kim and the staff were kind, professional, and treated us like family, even during end-of-life. The community is clean, home-like and secure with roomy apartments, patios/courtyard views, an in-house salon, and lots of engaging activities (trips, music, bingo, church). Meals are good, staff are helpful, family visits are welcomed, and management gave us real peace of mind; they even offer affordable/Medicaid options. Overall a very good, compassionate place I'd recommend.

    Summary of reviews

Edgewood Spring Creek Ustick is generally described as a warm, home-like senior living community with a strong emphasis on compassionate caregiving and social engagement. Many families praised the staff for personal attention, kindness, and continuity of leadership; reviewers frequently cited long-tenured administrators and individual caregivers who created a family-like atmosphere. The facility offers multi-level care, pet-friendly policies, and apartment-style living (bedroom, bathroom, living area and small kitchen), which reviewers found comfortable and reassuring for longer stays.

Care quality and staffing are overall strengths. Reviewers highlighted attentive caregiving, on-time medication administration, and compassionate support during end-of-life situations. Activities staff are active and involved; social programming includes trips, music, bingo, religious services, parties, and recurring small-group activities that residents reportedly enjoy. The availability of on-site services such as a salon and regular hair appointments was appreciated as a convenience and quality-of-life benefit. At the same time, reviewers noted operational issues that bear watching: there are occasional delays in staff responsiveness, and staffing continuity appears to vary by shift or role, which can affect consistency of care.

Dining and activity programming are notable parts of the community experience. Many reviewers praised the kitchen for generally nutritious and varied meals, a pleasant dining hall, and the option for room trays. Others noted that meal quality can feel institutional or be affected by cost constraints, and opinions on food quality were mixed. Activities are broad and well-attended; the programmatic variety (outings, religious services, recitals, games, and social events) contributes to improved mood and social engagement for many residents.

Facility maintenance and management practices show a largely positive pattern with some operational gaps. Common areas, patios, and courtyard-facing rooms were described as clean and well-kept, and the community’s aesthetic and outdoor spaces were seen as assets. However, reviewers mentioned inconsistent deep-cleaning practices and occasional administrative lapses (for example, misplaced items or records that were later recovered). Security practices were raised as a concern by some families (for example, doors not consistently secured), and there were isolated but serious concerns about how care-level transitions and requests to move residents to higher-level settings were handled.

Cost and transparency emerged as a recurring theme. While several families felt the higher cost was justified by the level of service, others cited dramatic fee increases and affordability concerns. Prospective residents and families should ask about fee structure, policies for care-level changes or transfers, cleaning schedules, staffing patterns across shifts, and building security procedures during a tour. Overall, the facility is widely regarded as providing caring, engaging, and comfortable living for residents, with actionable operational areas—housekeeping consistency, responsiveness, security, fee transparency, and transfer coordination—that prospective families should review before committing.
