    Exceptional rehab care, responsive staff

I had a very positive rehab stay - friendly, smiling nurses, quick aides and eager therapists helped me recover and go home within a month; staff were responsive and often went above and beyond (thanks Brittney). The building is clean, well-lit, spacious and home-like with pleasant smells, multiple seating areas, a social dining room and tasty meals. Proactive communication with my family, plenty of activities and new friends gave me real peace of mind; I'd return for rehab and recommend it.

    Summary of reviews

Homewood Health Campus receives considerable positive feedback for its rehabilitation services, therapy staff, and the facility’s clean, home-like environment. Physical and occupational therapy are repeatedly described as skilled and effective, and many reviewers cite successful, timely rehab-to-home transitions. The building, common areas, and dining room are often characterized as well-maintained, well-lit, and conducive to social interaction; planned activities, outings, and holiday events are also noted as meaningful opportunities for resident engagement.

Care quality shows a mixed picture. Therapy and certain direct-care staff are frequently praised for responsiveness and family communication, but reviewers describe inconsistent nursing and clinical follow-through. Common operational concerns include long waits for assistance, missed or delayed medication administration, lapses in timely personal-care (including bathing), and inconsistencies in wound-care and post-fall follow-up. There are also serious individual allegations raising concern about clinical oversight; these reports suggest gaps in safety practices (for example, transfer and gait-belt use) that warrant careful review.

Dining and activities are generally considered acceptable to good. Meals are described as palatable and the social dining format and organized activities contribute positively to residents’ social well-being. Therapy-centric stays (short-term rehab) receive especially favorable comments about outcomes and staff support. Families and residents also appreciate proactive communication when it occurs and cite staff who go beyond basic duties to assist families.

Facilities and environmental impressions are largely positive: reviewers highlight a home-like smell and atmosphere, spacious common areas, and an overall clean appearance. However, several comments point to bathroom maintenance and odor concerns in some areas, small private rooms with limited storage, and occasional laundry or housekeeping lapses.

Management and operational patterns are mixed. Some reviewers describe timely responsiveness to concerns, while others describe management defensiveness or slow complaint resolution. Ownership by a large corporate operator is mentioned and appears to factor into perceptions of staffing and resource allocation. Recurrent themes across reviews point to staffing shortages, training and retention challenges, and the resulting variability in care reliability.

Bottom line: Homewood Health Campus may be well suited for residents prioritizing strong therapy services, a social dining environment, and a clean, home-like setting. Prospective residents and families should prioritize questions about current nursing staffing levels, medication-administration and discharge medication processes, fall-prevention and transfer protocols, wound-care follow-up procedures, and how management handles complaints and staff training. Observing shift changes, inspecting resident rooms and bathrooms, and speaking directly with the therapy and nursing leadership during a tour can help assess whether the facility’s operational practices meet an individual’s care needs.
