    Clean modern spacious affordable caring

I moved my mom into the independent living cottages and have been very pleased. The campus is clean, modern and as pictured, the 2-bed/2-bath condos are spacious and affordable, and it's pet-friendly. Staff are caring, communicative and personal - great meals, activities, transportation, salon and a full continuum of care - I would recommend this community.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression: Reviews describe a facility with many operational strengths alongside notable inconsistency in day-to-day care. Positive comments emphasize a compassionate culture, strong housekeeping and therapy services, good food, active programming, and a clean, recently updated independent-living product. At the same time, several accounts point to operational weaknesses tied to staffing, professionalism, and management follow-through that produce variable resident experiences.

Care and staff: Many families and residents characterize direct-care staff, therapists, and kitchen teams as caring and invested in residents’ well-being. Therapy and housekeeping are repeatedly cited as strengths, and staff who know residents personally are credited with creating a familial atmosphere. However, there is a recurring pattern of staffing shortages, scheduling variability, and associated delays in responding to resident needs. These staffing pressures appear to contribute to inconsistent assistance with activities of daily living and to occasional lapses in timeliness and bedside communication. Reviewers also described variability in staff professionalism and conversational tone around residents, indicating training and supervision gaps in interactions and privacy practices.

Dining and activities: Dining receives largely positive feedback — reviewers note high-quality, varied meals and a broad menu. The community offers an active enrichment program with on- and off-campus outings (karaoke, lunches), regular activities, and ancillary services such as transportation, a barber shop, and a clubhouse. Pet visits and a pet-friendly policy are additional programmatic strengths that support social engagement and resident satisfaction.

Facilities and continuum of care: Physical spaces are described as clean and well maintained; independent living cottages are modern, spacious, and as pictured by the facility. The campus provides a full continuum of care, which some families cited as a reason they would place loved ones there. Affordability relative to similar communities was also mentioned as a positive factor.

Management and notable patterns: While many reviewers praised responsiveness when staff or administrators were engaged, others described uneven management follow-through and dismissive communication in some cases. There are also concerns about staff compensation and morale contributing to turnover and burnout. Separately, allegations about pressured or incentivized review practices raise ethical questions about how feedback is solicited and managed; prospective families may wish to clarify the facility’s review and staff-feedback processes.

Recommendations for prospective families: When evaluating this community, consider observing staff–resident interactions across different shifts, confirming current staffing ratios and turnover statistics, asking about training and supervision protocols (especially around personal-care tasks and privacy), reviewing recent inspection or quality reports, and sampling a meal or activity. Clarify the complaint-resolution process and how management communicates with families during clinical incidents. These steps can help balance the facility’s evident strengths against the variability described in day-to-day care delivery.

    About Ashford Place Health Campus

Ashford Place Health Campus sits in Central Indiana and gives seniors a place to live with lots of care options, so folks looking for independent living, assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, or adult day health services can find something that fits their needs, and if a person wants a short-term stay or needs respite care, that's available too. The community has patio homes and private apartments, with some two-bedroom homes starting at 1248 square feet and going up to 1656 square feet, and those spaces come with things like showers, kitchens or kitchenettes, washers and dryers, individually controlled air and heat, cable TV, and wireless internet, so people can set up their place the way they like and still have safety features and emergency alert systems.

When it comes to food, folks can sit down for chef-prepared meals three times a day, and there are different ways to eat like anytime dining, restaurant-style, room service, and they offer menus that include vegetarian, gluten-free, organic, low-sodium, and even international dishes, always serving up fresh veggies and fruit at each meal if someone wants to keep things healthy. The dining programs make it easy for guests and family to share a meal, and you'll find a private dining room for special gatherings. When someone needs extra health support, like medication help, diabetic care, or incontinence help, trained staff provide those services, and those living in memory care neighborhoods or skilled nursing suites get care set up for what they need day by day.

Families can visit the website and use care planning tools or look at real stories, and there are resources about home care, hospice, and more, so people have options to learn and plan ahead. For staying busy, the community runs activities each day, encourages regular exercise with walking groups and sports, and has areas like a fitness center, a resident garden, salon, bistro, and even pet-friendly spaces for people who want to bring their animals. Common spaces indoors and out give chances to gather or relax, and transportation services make it easier to get out to appointments or run errands.

Everything's on the ground floor, with handicap accessible features and laundry options right in the apartments, housekeeping, and help with linens and maintenance taking extra worries away, so seniors can focus on their own routines or join in with others as they wish. Ashford Place Health Campus has different living set-ups, skilled care on-site, social gatherings, and ways for families to stay involved, and the campus tries to offer steady support for seniors who may need long-term health services or who are just looking for a little help now and then.
