    Friendly professional staff, spotless facility

I moved my dad here and couldn't be happier - Peggy and her team are friendly, professional, and truly go above and beyond. The building is beautiful and spotless, meals are restaurant-quality, and there are plenty of activities, church services, salon and medical support, so he settled in easily and I have peace of mind. I highly recommend this assisted-living community, with only minor reservations.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression: The reviews portray Autumnwood Village as a well-maintained, attractive assisted-living community with a strong emphasis on cleanliness, hospitality, and resident comfort. Many accounts highlight a tidy, odor-free facility, upgraded carpeting and pleasant rooms, and an environment that families find reassuring. The setting is described as quiet and small-town, which some families value for peace of mind and independence.

Care and staff: Most feedback emphasizes caring, friendly, and accessible staff who are described as responsive and willing to go beyond baseline expectations. Several families specifically praised named team members and the community’s responsiveness to questions, which contributes to a sense of safety for relatives. That said, there is at least one serious concern about care quality and the community’s ability to meet certain residents’ needs; this suggests variability in staff performance or gaps in capability for higher-acuity cases. Prospective families should assess clinical staffing levels and observe interactions during a visit to determine fit for a particular care level.

Dining and activities: Dining is frequently commended, with descriptions of restaurant-quality meals and consistent positive commentary on food service. The community offers a range of activities, including church services, on-site personal services such as hairdressers, and organized outings (noted as occurring prior to pandemic restrictions). Activity programming appears varied and geared toward social engagement, which many families found beneficial.

Facilities and management: Management and administrative support receive positive remarks, including assistance with VA benefits and proactive communication. The facility’s upkeep, cleanliness, and aesthetic qualities are repeatedly noted as strengths. A few comments raise pricing and value concerns; families should request detailed fee schedules, what's included in base charges, and potential extra costs before deciding. Additionally, given the contrasting accounts of care capability, verify transfer protocols, clinical support availability, and staff training for more dependent residents.

Notable patterns and advice: The dominant pattern is positive—clean, friendly, and well-run with good food and active programming. However, there is a non-trivial signal that care consistency may vary and that the community may not be a fit for residents with advanced clinical needs. For prospective residents and families, recommended next steps include touring at different times of day, meeting clinical staff, reviewing staffing ratios and emergency-response procedures, and obtaining a clear, written breakdown of fees and included services to evaluate cost–value alignment.

About Autumnwood Village Assisted Living Community

Autumnwood Village Assisted Living Community sits in Tipton, Indiana, and has an active license confirmed by Care.com, which means they meet caregiver-to-senior ratios and pass safety inspections. The staff have a reputation for being helpful and friendly, and they pay close attention to resident needs, whether that's helping with medication, incontinence care, or moving from a bed to a wheelchair. The community houses seniors in studio and one-bedroom apartments that come with baths or showers, with some rooms offering bathtubs, and residents can bring their own furniture to make the space comfortable. You'll find the place stays clean and well-kept, with common indoor areas designed for relaxation, group activities, or simply socializing. Meals are prepared by chefs and meal planners, and two restaurant-style meals plus a continental breakfast are included in the monthly rates, so residents don't have to worry about cooking.

People can choose from different care levels, including assisted living, skilled nursing, independent living, memory care for those with dementia, or short-term respite stays if somebody just needs temporary care. The facility lets seniors with diabetes get insulin checks and offers care for those needing help walking or getting around. Bathrooms and showers are wheelchair accessible for those who need them, and the emergency call system and 24-hour staff mean help is always nearby. Spiritual needs are cared for with both on-site and off-site devotional services. Housekeeping comes every week, and residents don't have to worry about flat linens or laundry. There are free laundry rooms and plenty of opportunities for movement, activities, and social events, either on-site or as planned off-site excursions, all tailored toward personal interests and spiritual practices if wanted by the resident.

Transportation is available-sometimes free, other times for an added cost-so trips into town or to appointments are easier to arrange, especially with resident parking provided. Residents get basic cable, scheduled transportation, and regular wellness checks as part of the basic offering. Beautician services are available on-site, and there are programs aimed at improving quality of life and making sure each resident gets the support and attention they need. The community focuses on being welcoming, supportive, and designed for seniors wanting safety, comfort, and daily engagement, no matter their care needs or physical abilities.
