    Caring comfortable convenient highly recommended

I moved my father to Bethany Home and was very pleased: clean, homey cottages and large apartments with accessible showers, a beautiful dining room and big patio. The staff treated residents like family, were helpful with long-distance logistics, and provided attentive, inclusive care. Convenient location next to the nursing home - grateful for how comfortable and cared-for my loved one is and happy to recommend it.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression: Bethany Village elicits largely positive feedback for its caregiving culture and living accommodations. Many reviewers describe staff as caring, family-like, and attentive, and families expressed gratitude for the way the facility supported recovery stays and longer-term residency. The physical plant includes spacious private rooms, large two-bedroom apartments, cottage-style independent-living units, accessible showers, wide dining spaces, and outdoor patios — features that several people cited as contributing to a home-like environment.

Care and staff: The dominant theme is that staff are hardworking, personal, and engaged with residents. Reviewers praised hands-on caregiving, responsiveness to basic needs, and assistance with transitions such as move-ins or long-distance relocations. At the same time, there is inconsistency in experience: while many describe inclusive interactions and a racially diverse workforce, other accounts raise concerns about staff conduct and an uneven culture of inclusion. These contrasting impressions suggest variability across shifts, units, or individual staff members rather than uniform practice across the campus.

Dining and activities: Dining is frequently cited as a strength—residents and families commented on the attractive, large dining room and generally satisfactory meals. Programming and resident engagement appear active, with performances and conversational interactions noted. These social offerings align with the family-like atmosphere many reviewers describe, though the intensity of engagement can vary by unit.

Facilities and environment: The campus shows signs of growth and investment (renovations/additions, spacious units, and attractive common areas), and reviewers appreciated recently updated or large spaces. However, parts of the facility are described as older and in need of remodeling, indicating uneven modernization. The proximity of independent-living cottages to higher-acuity units was mentioned as a factor that can reduce everyday interaction for some residents, so social opportunities may depend on location within the campus.

Management and notable patterns: Administrative strengths include practical logistical support for moves and clear help with coordination. Conversely, several management-level issues surfaced: one review described a serious security incident involving a former employee that raised questions about incident response and communication; other comments referenced misinformation and social-media trolling that affected the facility's public perception. Taken together, these point to opportunities for stronger security protocols, more consistent family communication, and proactive online reputation management.

What to ask on a tour: Prospective residents and families may want to confirm current renovation plans and timelines, observe staffing levels on different shifts, ask about policies and training related to inclusion and conduct, review security and incident-response procedures, and sample the dining program. Overall, Bethany Village appears to offer many strengths in caregiving, housing size, and social programming, with some operational and cultural inconsistencies that are worth clarifying during a visit.

    About Bethany Village

Bethany Village sits in Lindsborg, Kansas and has been around since 1911 as a nonprofit that offers a mix of services and different types of care, and there are places called Bethany Home, Sunflower Terrace, and The Cottages where people can find options for independent living, assisted living, long-term care, skilled nursing, and rehabilitation, with private rooms, restaurant-style dining, and a variety of events and activities, and there's a real focus on what they call "the art of living," which means people can do things like arts, crafts, gardening, music, quilting, and join in creative programs or lifelong learning, sometimes even with younger folks coming in for intergenerational activities. Residents who need more assistance can move into Sunflower Terrace, which has assisted living apartments, while those needing skilled nursing or rehab services often go to Bethany Home, and The Cottages offer more private and independent living options. Bethany Village also has services like respite care, continuing care, memory care, pain management rehab, and help with daily needs for people age 55 and older, and there are features designed for folks who have disabilities or chronic diseases, and you'll find communities such as Reflections Retirement Resort, Arbor Court Retirement Community at Salina, Legend of Hutchinson, Brookdale McPherson, Countryside Home at 2454 KS-15 in Abilene, Brookdale Salina Fairdale at 2251 East Crawford Street in Salina, and Brookdale Salina Kirwin at 1200 East Kirwin Avenue in Salina, all offering different types of housing and support. The campus includes nursing homes, long-term care, residential treatment, therapeutic boarding schools, and outpatient and inpatient rehab centers, along with unique facilities like a pet-assisted therapy center and a program for rehabilitation for pregnant and postpartum women, plus specialized help for addiction, dual diagnosis, neurological rehab, wilderness therapy, eating disorders, veterans, LGBTQ+ seniors, and teens. The staff totals between 51 and 200 employees and work to offer a range of supportive services, with amenities and care aimed at helping people feel comfortable, stay socially active, and find fulfillment in their daily routines.
