    Resort-like community with caring staff

I'm very pleased with Preston Greens - a beautiful, resort-like and affordable community with world-class dining, caring staff (Amanda, Kim, Tawnya and team), plentiful activities and on-site amenities like a movie theater. My dad loves his apartment and the food, residents are friendly, staff treat everyone like family, and I feel confident about his care.

    Summary of reviews

Preston Greens presents as a newer, well-appointed senior living community with many physical and programmatic strengths. Reviewers consistently note a resort-like, hotel-quality environment: spacious apartments (often with kitchenettes), attractive common areas, and a broad menu of amenities such as a movie theatre, salon/spa, library, courtyard and outdoor spaces. Memory care is physically separated and secured, and the campus layout and features are described as modern and comfortable. Many families praised move-in support and helpful admissions staff, and the community’s location and transportation offerings are frequently cited as convenient for visitors and outings.

Care quality and frontline staff performance are mixed in the feedback. Numerous reviewers highlight compassionate, attentive caregivers and on-site clinical availability (nurses and visiting physicians), and some families credit the team with meaningful improvements in residents’ well-being. At the same time, other reviewers describe inconsistent care practices: variability in staff responsiveness, inconsistent housekeeping and laundry execution, and uneven medication-management routines. A subset of comments raises serious individual clinical and safety concerns (including fall and medication-related incidents); these appear to be isolated in context but are significant to those families and point to broader gaps in clinical incident response and family communication.

Staffing and management are recurring themes. Positive descriptions of devoted staff members and specific staff who go “above and beyond” sit alongside frequent mentions of leadership churn, multiple director changes, and perceived middle-management or corporate communication shortfalls. These operational instabilities are tied to inconsistent caregiver performance, weekend coverage gaps, and slower response times for maintenance requests. Reviewers also indicate that administrative policies (for example, notice periods and billing/refund follow-through) and communication channels to corporate can be rigid or slow, which affects family trust during transitions or after incidents.

Dining and activities are generally seen as strengths with caveats. Many families praise the variety of meals, special-event menus, and an improving culinary program under new kitchen leadership; others describe variability in food quality, limited menu rotation, and occasional slow dining service. Activity programming is robust from a facilities perspective—regular crafts, group outings, theater showings, and social programs are well publicized—but some families, particularly those with residents in memory care or with sensory impairments, find the activities less tailored or less frequent than expected. A few reviewers specifically noted a lack of long-term consistency in activity leadership.

Practical operational issues round out the patterns. Visitor parking and handicap-accessible parking are frequently described as limited, causing inconvenience for families. Some units lack landline phone provisioning and reviewers report cell-only reliance can be problematic for residents with memory or hearing issues. Maintenance and housekeeping performance are generally adequate but inconsistently prompt. Transportation reliability has been noted as improving after operational adjustments, which suggests responsiveness to family feedback in some operational areas.

Overall impression: Preston Greens offers a high-quality physical environment, a wide range of amenities, and many dedicated staff members that create a welcoming community for many residents. However, prospective residents and families should weigh those strengths against documented operational weaknesses: staffing and leadership turnover, inconsistent frontline performance, communication gaps with management and clinical teams, and logistical concerns such as parking and telecommunications. When touring or contracting with the community, ask targeted questions about current staffing stability and ratios, medication-management protocols and incident reporting, housekeeping and laundry schedules, activity programming for memory-care residents, parking availability, and administrative policies (notice periods and billing/refund procedures). These clarifications will help match expectations to the community’s current operational realities.
