    Clean facility, caring staff, recommended

I'm very satisfied with this clean, well-run facility - the staff are professional, caring, and pleasant, and they coordinate well with treating medical teams. My diabetes nursing and regular blood checks are excellent, the food and my roommate are great, and residents clearly trust and recommend this place.

    Summary of reviews

Overall sentiment: The reviews for Sanfield Rehab & Living Center are uniformly positive. Multiple comments emphasize that residents and families are happy with the care provided. The most frequently cited strengths are the staff and the quality of clinical care, with additional praise for cleanliness and the dining experience. There are no explicit negative comments provided in the summaries, resulting in an overwhelmingly favorable impression based on the available feedback.

Care quality and clinical services: Reviewers repeatedly highlight high-quality clinical care. Nursing care for diabetes is called out specifically, including routine blood checks and attentive management. The facility is described as being helpful to patients' treating medical staff, which suggests good coordination with physicians and outside providers. Phrases like "high quality care," "wonderful job," and "residents happy with care" indicate reliable clinical oversight and responsive nursing staff.

Staff and culture: Staff performance and demeanor are the most prominent themes. Descriptions such as "professional and caring staff," "pleasant staff," "awesome place," and "staff satisfaction" point to a workforce that is both competent and engaged. Multiple reviewers label the staff as a core reason for their positive view of the facility, and the repeated use of superlatives ("favorite facility," "wonderful") implies consistent, visible empathy and professionalism from caregivers.

Facility, dining, and living environment: Cleanliness is specifically mentioned, indicating that the physical environment is well maintained. The food receives positive mention as well, suggesting satisfaction with dining options or meal service. Personal living dynamics are also reported positively—one reviewer notes a "wonderful roommate," which can be an important factor in resident comfort and social well-being.

Reputation and resident experience: Several comments reflect a favorable reputation among residents and families; reviewers call the center a "favorite facility" and report that residents are happy. This consistency across short summaries points to broadly positive word-of-mouth and repeatable strengths in everyday care and interactions.

Notable gaps and limitations in the reviews: The provided summaries are concentrated on staff behavior, general care quality, cleanliness, and food. They do not address certain topics commonly of interest to prospective residents and families, such as the availability and quality of activities/programming, physical or occupational therapy specifics, weekend or after-hours medical coverage, administrative or billing practices, safety protocols, visitation policies, or measurable outcomes like rehospitalization rates. Because these areas are not mentioned, no conclusions can be drawn about them from the current review set.

Conclusion: Based on the available review summaries, Sanfield Rehab & Living Center presents as a clean, well-regarded facility with a strong emphasis on compassionate, professional staff and dependable clinical management—especially for diabetes care. Dining and roommate situations are also reported positively. Absence of negative comments is notable, but the feedback is narrowly focused; prospective residents should view these strengths as important positives while seeking additional information about activities, therapy services, administrative processes, and other operational details not covered in these summaries.

About Sanfield Rehab & Living Center

Sanfield Rehab & Living Center sits right on Main Street in downtown Hartland, ME, so folks living there can easily walk to the post office, grocery store, and even the local bank and restaurants, which lots of residents find handy, and you'll see the place is close to the lakes and mountain regions of Central Maine, so those who like the outdoors or want a change of scenery now and then won't feel too shut in. The center offers 23 certified beds and has several care options, from skilled nursing and long-term care to rehabilitation with physical, occupational, and speech therapies, and there's also post-acute and transitional care services for people who need extra help after a hospital stay and are not quite ready to go home, and they even have podiatry and hospice care, plus support for those with Alzheimer's and dementia, so they do cover a range of medical and daily living needs.

Residents can get help with bathing, dressing, and medication management any time of day or night, since they provide 24-hour supervision and care, and meals are cooked from scratch, with daily menus you can choose from, which gives things a homelike touch, and every room comes with a computer for resident use and free cable TV, so there's a little comfort and connection built in. There's an activity program offering different outings, recreational activities, and day programs to build life skills, and they do try to adapt these to every resident's abilities and needs, though an inspection found they sometimes didn't meet all activity needs, so there have been some challenges with keeping everyone as engaged as possible. The staff gives 4.29 nurse hours per resident per day, which lands right about at the state average, and while they are proud of their dedication to professional, personalized care, nurse turnover has been a bit higher than average at 57.1 percent, and there were some deficiencies noted in rights, quality of life, and pharmacy services, for example in how they manage medications and keep up with non-drug approaches for some residents.

Sanfield is for profit, owned by John Orestis and run by North Country Associates as a limited liability company, and it stays connected with the local community by joining in events like Hartland Fun Days or St. Albans Fun Days, which helps keep families and neighbors involved, and there's always an effort to make things feel less institutional, more like a regular home, especially in the Residential Care wing, where they put focus on comfort and safety. The center covers a wide range of services, including pain management, respite care, housing support, and different specialties, but the main aim remains steady-to provide a safe place, good meals, and a little social life, with the help you need for as long as you need it.
