    Kind staff, clean, small rooms

I moved my mother to Landmark at Fall River and overall we're very happy - the staff are consistently kind, professional, and attentive, the building is extremely clean, dining is restaurant-style with good choices, medicines are handled by pros, and there are plenty of activities (cards, music, outings, daily mass). The atmosphere feels safe, organized, and welcoming, and leadership/staff communicate well. Downsides: some rooms are quite small with little storage, hallways feel narrow from the hotel conversion, the hillside location and nearby streets can be hard to walk, and basic care minutes are limited unless you pay for extra packages. I recommend it for the caring staff and community feel, but check room size, neighborhood walkability, and care-package details before deciding.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment: Reviews for River Falls Senior Living are overwhelmingly positive with recurring praise for the staff, cleanliness, dining, activities, and sense of community. Across dozens of comments reviewers repeatedly describe the staff as friendly, compassionate, knowledgeable and responsive — from CNAs to nurses, dining and housekeeping to admissions staff. Multiple reviewers call out specific staff and leaders by name (Sean, Michele, Linda) as being particularly helpful, which reinforces a consistent pattern of strong personal attention and supportive administration. Many residents and families report that medication administration is handled professionally and that communication with the health team is good.

Care quality and staff: The dominant theme is excellent, caring staff and professional health support. CNAs are described as patient and kind, nurses experienced, and the facility as attentive to residents' needs. Several reviews note reliable morning and evening medication assistance and that the team provides clear explanations of services. That said, isolated negative feedback exists: at least one reviewer said staff assistance was poor or insufficient, indicating that while the vast majority praise the caregiving, prospective residents should verify current staffing levels and response expectations during a tour or family discussion.

Facilities and physical layout: Reviewers commonly note that the facility is very clean, well maintained, and has updated common areas with brighter colors and an intimate, homey feel. Amenities that receive repeated positive mention include a chapel with frequent Mass (six days a week), an in-house hair salon and manicure services, and dedicated activities spaces. However, the building’s origins as a hotel conversion introduce some trade-offs: narrow hallways, small rooms in some units, and limited in-room storage were repeatedly mentioned. While several reviewers praise spacious one-bedroom and large studio options, other comments specifically call out “extremely small rooms” and little storage — indicating variation across unit types and floors. Potential residents should request specific floorplans and view the exact unit they would occupy.

Dining and activities: Dining is another strong plus — many reviewers describe meals as delicious, varied, and healthy with plentiful vegetable options and restaurant-style service. The dining room is described as extremely clean and well run, and many reviewers comment that breakfast and lunch are especially good. A minor recurring note is that menu choices sometimes seem mismatched (for example, too many breakfast-style items served for supper). Activity programming is robust: reviewers report regular games, arts and crafts, live entertainment, field trips, social hours, holiday events, and opportunities for socialization. Some families would like more frequent outings, but overall the variety and quality of activities are viewed favorably and contribute to residents making friends and staying engaged.

Safety, neighborhood, and location: Internally the community is perceived as safe and organized, with established visitor procedures and a calm environment. Externally there are mixed to negative impressions of the surrounding neighborhood and site: the property sits on a hillside and some reviewers found walking routes difficult or felt the local area was not ideal and at times unsafe. The courtyard was also described as empty by some. These location-related concerns are significant for prospective residents who value outdoor access and walkability; a site visit at different times of day and a walk of typical routes is recommended.

Costs and care packages: Several reviewers described pricing as reasonable, but many noted that the basic care package limits hands-on assistance to a small daily allotment (reported as 30 minutes/day for a fee) with additional packages available for more time at notable monthly cost increments (reports indicate $400 increments for additional 60/90 minutes). This pattern suggests the community may be well suited to independent or lightly assisted residents but could become costly for those requiring substantial personal care. Prospective residents and families should confirm current pricing, the exact scope of included services, and the cost of additional care to understand the total expected monthly expense as needs increase.

Patterns and recommendations: The dominant, consistent message is that River Falls Senior Living provides a warm, community-oriented environment with excellent food, strong programming, and a very caring staff. The main trade-offs to investigate are the physical unit size (and variability across floorplans), the hotel-conversion layout, the external neighborhood and walkability, and the structure and price of care packages for higher assistance needs. There are only a few reports of subpar care or dissatisfaction with the memory care unit, but they are notable against an otherwise positive review set and should prompt direct questions during a tour.

Bottom line: For seniors seeking a socially active, clean, well-run community with excellent staff and dining — particularly those who are independent or need light-to-moderate assistance — River Falls appears to be a strong option. Those requiring larger living spaces, significant in-room storage, extensive daily personal care, or a highly walkable/pleasant outdoor setting should verify unit specifics, care contract details, and neighborhood safety before committing.
