    Peace of mind, caring staff

I'm grateful we chose this family-owned, faith-centered facility - the caring, knowledgeable nurses and staff (Jamie and Joe included) gave excellent, personalized medical and emotional care in a clean, beautiful, home-like setting. With healthy meals, engaging activities, hospice support as needed and staff who became part of our family, I found real peace of mind; a few small tweaks would make it perfect.

    Summary of reviews

Across the collected reviews, families emphasize consistently high levels of individualized care and attention. Clinical elements frequently cited include attentive nursing, clear knowledge of medications and equipment, and coordination with hospice when needed. Reviewers describe care that attends to both medical needs and comfort, with staff able to manage routine health requirements and provide support during end-of-life stages.

Staff and management are repeatedly characterized as warm, committed, and personally engaged. The facility is described as family-run and owner-operated, with named leadership praised for accessibility and hands-on involvement. This owner-operated, small-home approach appears to foster close relationships between staff, residents, and families, producing a home-like ambiance and a strong sense of trust and peace of mind for relatives.

Dining and daily-life programming receive positive mention: meals are described as healthy and tailored to resident preferences, and the activity schedule includes a range of social and therapeutic offerings such as pet visits, music and spiritual gatherings, holiday events, crafts, and personal-care pampering. These activities are presented as contributing to emotional wellbeing, social engagement, and quality of life.

The physical setting is described as clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, with attractive views and new or updated accommodations. Reviewers highlight housekeeping standards and a pleasant atmosphere that supports dignity and comfort.

Notable patterns and caveats: the overwhelmingly positive tone centers on a small, family-style model of care. That model yields benefits in personalization and close staff–family relationships but may also imply operational limits. Potential residents and families should consider capacity constraints typical of home-scale facilities, the level of onsite resources for complex medical needs, and whether a clearly faith-oriented environment and family-run administrative structure match their preferences. Memory-support services are referenced as a capability but may not be as extensive as those offered by larger, specialized memory-care communities. Those evaluating the facility will likely want to confirm specific clinical coverage (for example 24/7 RNs or specialist access), detailed memory-care programming, and how the home-scale model handles higher-acuity needs before deciding.

About Anchored Heart Senior Living Center

Anchored Heart Senior Living Center sits on 10 quiet acres in Goodrich, Michigan, and serves up to six residents at a time in a custom-designed, all-inclusive adult small group home. The place feels like family, with a team led by Joe and Jamie Davis, both registered nurses with over 42 years of experience between them, who aim to keep each resident dignified, respected, and safe in a caring, Christian-based atmosphere. There's always a registered nurse on call 24/7, and the caregiver-to-resident ratio stays at 1:6, which means everyone gets more personal attention, whether it's help with bathing, dressing, exercises, or managing medications. The home offers private bedrooms, shared living areas, wheelchair accessibility, and zero transition flooring for safer movement. There's cable TV, phone, internet, and regular meals cooked at home with snacks and meal planning adapted to residents' needs, plus laundry and housekeeping. Residents can join plenty of activities, including music and pet therapy, arts and crafts, games, Bible study, church services, card games, outdoor walks on the grounds, cookouts, and holiday events. There's a mentoring program for folks interested in nursing who want to learn from experienced registered nurses. Visiting nurse practitioners, hospice care, and partnerships with local services cover changing healthcare needs. Beautician and manicurist visits, a resident monitoring and call system, and a security alarm round out the care, and staff handle appointment scheduling, too. Volunteers often visit to help with activities, and there's time for gardening, storytelling, singing, knitting, and friendly conversation. Payment comes from long-term care insurance, private pay, or VA, and residents need to be age 65 or older. The peaceful country setting lets people enjoy fresh air and views of nature and wildlife. There's no fuss or pressure here-just a family-style senior care home focused on encouragement, compassion, and a safe haven for seniors who want a place where staff and residents look out for one another.
