    Best facility clean caring home-like

I've stayed at several facilities and this is the best I've tried - clean rooms, loving and helpful nursing and support staff, quick buzzer response, and on-site medical care with a weekly nurse practitioner and doctor. Meals with choices, abundant activities and entertainment, TVs in every room, a family meeting room, festive holiday decorations and well-kept grounds make it feel like family; overall a very good place I'd recommend.

    Summary of reviews

Feedback about Clinton Healthcare & Rehab is highly mixed, with clear strengths around amenities and some elements of clinical coverage but recurring operational concerns that prospective families should evaluate closely.

Care quality and clinical oversight: The facility lists on-site medical coverage including a weekly nurse practitioner and a staff physician, and some families describe compassionate, family-like nursing care. At the same time, there are consistent concerns about reliability of clinical services: missed or delayed treatments, gaps in therapy or medication administration, and issues with nutritional and hydration monitoring. Reviewers also raised skin-integrity concerns and indications of untreated infections in individual cases. These patterns suggest variability in clinical follow-through that merits specific questions during a visit and review of recent clinical incident records.

Staff and management: Many comments praise individual caregivers for being friendly and helpful; however, there are also repeated comments about inconsistent staffing levels, curt or unprofessional interactions from some staff and leadership, and confrontational communication when families raise concerns. Linen-change and room-cleaning processes are described as inconsistent. These items point to operational and supervisory challenges rather than uniformly poor performance, so direct observation of staffโ€“family interactions and clarification of staffing ratios and grievance procedures are recommended.

Dining, activities, and facilities: Positives include menu choices at mealtimes, a broad activity roster with arts and crafts, on-site entertainment, and religious services, as well as in-room televisions, a family meeting room, holiday programming, and well-kept exterior grounds. Counterbalancing these strengths are reports of inconsistent meal temperature and food-quality control and limited private-room availability; some residents are in small shared rooms and there may be limited in-room amenities like telephones in certain units.

Notable patterns and recommendations: The overall pattern is of a facility that offers meaningful social programming and some solid clinical resources but shows variability in day-to-day operationsโ€”particularly staffing, personal-care routines, linen management, and clinical follow-through. There are also allegations regarding manipulation or bias in public feedback; while that does not speak directly to care quality, it indicates the importance of corroborating information through state inspection reports, Medicare/Medicaid surveys, and direct conversations with current families. Prospective residents and families should tour during meal and activity times, ask for current staffing ratios, request recent inspection and incident history, and clarify protocols for clinical treatments, bathing schedules, incontinence care, and family communication.

    About Clinton Healthcare & Rehab

Clinton Healthcare & Rehab sits at 1009 East Ohio in Clinton, Missouri and most folks know it for offering skilled nursing care and rehabilitation along with short-term and long-term stays, and you'll find the building has 120 beds, where both private and semi-private rooms are available. It's a for-profit nursing home owned by Clinton Exempt Trust and the place stays busy with an average of 71 residents every day, and even though there's space for more, the rooms seem filled enough with regular activity and people coming and going. The staff includes skilled nurses and therapists helping residents with daily tasks like medication, grooming, dressing, and exercises, and there's 24-hour care, but nurse turnover is higher than many other places, with about 63.3% switching jobs yearly, which sits above the Missouri state average, and they provide about 2.75 nursing hours per resident per day, less than the state's typical 3.4 hours. Clinton Healthcare & Rehab takes both Medicare and Medicaid and has a memory care program, so folks with different needs can find something, and therapy-like physical, speech, and occupational therapy-gets done in private or semi-private therapy rooms, as the building's got about 120 of those rooms for people to use, whether they're staying short or long time. The facility's got some social offerings like bingo, card games, arts and crafts, cookie decorating, outings, reading, services with music and movies, and church, plus family can use the family lounge for visits or parties, and a calendar of events comes out so people can see upcoming activities. They encourage social events around Freedom and Independence themes, with activities like making flags or singing patriotic songs, which residents might enjoy. Meals are served in a shared dining room and are meant to be nutritious, and residents get cable TV, wireless internet, and transportation when needed, with spacious grounds if anyone wants to relax or get fresh air. There are some positives about the place, but the Missouri authorities have noted 27 deficiencies in recent inspection reports, including issues with safe pain management, infection control, and ongoing care quality, which shows there are areas that need attention, especially as infection-related problems and other care concerns have shown up in state files, and their overall score from reviews is about 2.5 out of 5, based on sixteen reviews, which suggests some people have had mixed experiences. The building's described as warm and home-like and the staff works at being professional and compassionate, with personalized care plans, but people looking at the place should know about its inspection history and staffing situation. There's a careers page for folks wanting to work there, and the building can be toured, with amenities accessible to all residents, so people interested can get a sense of what daily life is like.
