    Homelike setting but understaffed care

I live here — the residents are lovely and the countryside setting is well‑maintained and homelike, with nicely appointed rooms, good-quality furnishings and mostly private rooms (male/female areas separated). Meals are good to above average; there are extensive arts-and-crafts, frequent field trips, high family involvement and strong mental‑health care. My biggest complaint is poor staffing and cleaning — care staff are often stretched thin — though the administrator is caring and the owner generous.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment from the review summaries is mixed but leans positive on atmosphere, programming, and leadership while flagging operational concerns around staffing and cleanliness. Multiple reviewers emphasize a homelike, well-maintained environment with attractive furnishings and a countryside setting. The physical space appears to be thoughtfully appointed, with most residents having private rooms and distinct male and female areas, which contributes to privacy and a residential feel.

Care quality shows strengths in specialized supports and relationships: reviewers specifically note strong mental-health care, a caring administrator, and caring staff. The owner is described as generous with residents' gifts and there is a high level of family involvement, suggesting engaged leadership and a community-oriented culture. These points indicate that, at least anecdotally, leadership and some frontline staff invest personally in residents' well-being and social connection.

Facilities and dining receive positive mention as well. The home is described as well-maintained with good-quality furnishings and a homelike atmosphere. Meals are characterized as good to above average, which supports resident satisfaction with daily living essentials. The countryside setting and the presence of "lovely residents" contribute to an overall pleasant environment and a sense that the community is welcoming.

Activity programming is a clear strength. Reviews highlight extensive arts and crafts opportunities and frequent field trips. Such programming indicates active engagement for residents and an emphasis on enrichment and outings beyond the facility. High family involvement complements this, suggesting families participate in or support activities and the broader community life.

Key concerns are concise but significant: poor staffing and poor cleaning. These operational issues may create tension with otherwise positive descriptions of caring staff and management. In other words, reviewers consistently describe staff as caring but also mention inadequate staffing levels and substandard cleaning. That pattern suggests the problem is not staff attitude or commitment but likely staffing ratios, turnover, workload, or resource constraints that undermine consistent service delivery and facility maintenance. Poor cleaning raises hygiene and safety questions that warrant attention, even when other aspects of care and social programming are strong.

Taken together, the reviews portray Diana's Boarding Home 2 as a warm, well-appointed, activity-rich community with engaged leadership and strengths in mental-health care and family involvement. However, the operational drawbacks — specifically staffing shortages or staffing quality issues and cleaning deficiencies — are notable and could materially affect daily life and care continuity. Prospective residents and families should weigh the strong social, environmental, and programmatic attributes against the reported operational weaknesses and, if interested, follow up with specific questions about staffing levels, cleaning schedules and standards, staff turnover, and recent inspection or licensing history to get a clearer picture of current performance.
