    Compassionate, family-like care; excellent rehab

I'm very pleased with the compassionate, family-like care here - attentive staff who go above and beyond (nurse Amanda stood out), a top-notch rehab team, and clear communication with families. The facility is clean, welcoming and home-like, with engaging activities, good food, and residents well supported through recovery and end-of-life care. I'd happily recommend it, with only a few small improvements possible.

    Summary of reviews

Country Club Rehab & Healthcare Center presents a mixed but informative profile for prospective residents and families. Strengths cited across reviews center on the caregiving and rehabilitation programs: many families describe compassionate, resident-centered staff and a therapy team that produces measurable recovery results. Reviewers highlight a home-like interior, creative resident involvement (art projects, resident-made plaques), and a welcoming, family-style atmosphere that supports social connection and engagement. Cleanliness and facility upkeep are repeatedly praised, and the location provides convenient hospital access and highway connections for visitors.

Activities and dining are frequently noted as positives. The facility runs a variety of social and spiritual programs, including karaoke, singing, church services, and craft-based activities. Families and residents describe thoughtful, consistent activity direction and opportunities for inclusion. Meal service is described as homemade-style with some reviewers calling out good food and cafeteria-style breakfast options; however, occupancy pressures can affect room arrangements (many residents are placed in semi-private rooms while private rooms have waiting lists).

On the clinical and operational side, there are notable areas of concern that prospective families should explore further. Several reviews describe inconsistent responsiveness to personal-care needs and gaps in monitoring skin integrity and incontinence-related care; abstracted as facility-level traits, these point to potential weaknesses in bedside responsiveness and wound/incontinence care processes. Related themes include variability in bedside manner, occasional slow response times, and uneven professionalism among staff. There are also comments that suggest inconsistencies in clinical monitoring and medication oversight that families should review with the care team during touring and admission discussions.

Administrative and leadership patterns merit attention. Some reviewers praise recent management changes and a proactive director of nursing who improved staffing and operations; others describe defensive leadership communication and concerns about how family complaints were handled. Billing and insurance processing problems — including errors that resulted in unexpected out-of-pocket costs for some families — are recurring operational issues to verify in advance. Finally, the facility’s occupancy level and semi-private-room prevalence, along with some remarks about security/perimeter limitations, are practical considerations for families prioritizing private rooms or specific safety features.

In summary, Country Club Rehab & Healthcare Center offers strong rehabilitation services, an engaged activity program, and a generally clean, home-like environment with many staff praised for compassion and continuity. At the same time, prospective residents and families should proactively assess bedside responsiveness, wound and incontinence-care protocols, medication/clinical monitoring practices, insurance/billing arrangements, and leadership communication during tours and care-planning meetings to confirm that the facility’s operational practices meet their expectations.

About Country Club Rehab & Healthcare Center

Country Club Rehab & Healthcare Center sits in Warrensburg, Missouri, and also has a location in Lee's Summit, providing a homey setting with a mix of residential care and medical oversight for seniors who need a little help or sometimes a lot more, depending on their condition each day, and you'll find the apartments come equipped with kitchenettes, large closets, private bathrooms, and refrigerators, plus each one has a call light for emergencies and many offer private patios and an outside door so folks can sit outside on nice days or come and go when they want. The grounds include quiet common rooms for relaxing, and the staff runs various social and recreational activities, whether that's bingo or musical performances or other entertainment to keep people involved, with special attention going to a full range of therapy programs, including state-of-the-art rehabilitation for those recovering from injuries, illness, or surgery, along with physical, occupational, and speech therapy right there on site. There's an on-site pharmacy, medication distribution, health services, personal care assistants, salon and barber services, and in-house laundry and cleaning, which keeps things easy for residents, and fitness or wellness programs offer more chances for people to stay active and healthy, though no pets are allowed under the rules of the center. The center accepts Medicare, Medicaid, most insurance, checks, and credit cards, which gives families payment flexibility, and the building has a capacity for about 60 residents at a time, with 73 certified beds, serving both short-term rehabilitation folks and those needing longer-term nursing home care, plus access to dentistry, podiatry, optometry, counseling, and audiology on a schedule. Every apartment can be rented by one person after they've been approved, with choices that include studio apartments, one-bedroom places, or suites with semi-private setups, each one with either private or shared parking, and there's three hot meals a day plus snacks between, and the kitchen offers full-service nutritional dining, though some of the inspection reports mention food quality and safety deficiencies, and the building has some history with deficiencies related to nursing and doctor services, food handling, infection control, and nutrition. Management changed in early 2024 with Mo Operation Holdings De Spe LLC overseeing operations, while Ama Holdings stays affiliated, and you'll find that there's a higher-than-average nurse turnover rate, sitting at 84.7% compared to the state average of 57.9%, which might mean you see new faces more often, and nurse hours per resident are a little lower than average at 3.23 hours per day compared to Missouri's average of 3.4. While the center is proud of its high staff-to-resident ratio and offers specialized care like wound care, IV management, medication help, and dialysis oversight with a part-time nurse and other trained staff, some areas could see improvement, based on state inspection reports. Religious services are available, and the atmosphere aims to be quiet, warm, and comforting, and the staff works to respect the dignity of residents while providing standby help with everyday tasks, medication reminders, and various personal needs. No pets are allowed, but people seem to find plenty of ways to stay engaged with the social and wellness programs, and some simply enjoy sitting outside their apartment doors or on private patios in the quiet surroundings.
