    Caring, skilled staff; highly recommended

I placed my mother-in-law here and have been very satisfied. The nurses, aides, dietary, activities, maintenance and housekeeping are caring, skilled and consistently attentive - wound pump and skilled nursing care were excellent. Communication has been honest and upfront, the administrator and long-tenured staff have been wonderful, and the facility is very clean with no odors. I'm grateful for the loving, dependable care and would highly recommend this place.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression: Reviews portray a facility with considerable strengths in day-to-day caregiving and environmental maintenance alongside several operational weaknesses that affect clinical continuity for some residents. Many accounts emphasize warm, attentive direct-care staff, cleanliness, and responsiveness from departments such as maintenance, housekeeping, dietary, and activities. At the same time, other accounts describe meaningful lapses in responsiveness and administrative consistency that warrant inquiry from prospective families.

Care quality and nursing: Multiple reviews describe compassionate, skilled nursing and caregiver teams, including positive comments about wound care and bedside skill. However, there are recurring concerns about inconsistent nurse responsiveness — examples include extended waits for assistance and limited follow-up after vital checks — particularly for residents with high-dependency transfer needs or mechanical lift requirements. These patterns suggest variability in shift coverage or prioritization that can affect care continuity for more dependent residents.

Staffing and leadership: Strengths include dedicated long-tenured staff and front-line personnel who are described as friendly and helpful. Conversely, reviewers point to staffing shortages, unfavorable patient-to-staff ratios, and turnover in nursing leadership (including DON changes) that contribute to uneven performance. Administrative impressions are mixed: some reviewers praise an attentive, hard-working administrator who improved conditions, while others report unhelpful administrative interactions. This indicates variability in leadership stability and consistency of management practices over time.

Dining and activities: Dietary and activities staff are generally described as attentive and engaged. Several comments note that programming and food service staff provide consistent, pleasant interactions with residents and families. These operational areas appear to be reliable strengths of the facility.

Facilities and cleanliness: The facility is characterized as clean and odor-free by multiple reviewers, and maintenance and housekeeping receive consistent praise. At the same time, the building itself is described as older and in need of updates; prospective residents should expect a well-maintained but aging physical plant.

Communication, conduct, and financial concerns: Communication with families elicits mixed feedback — some families report clear, honest, upfront communication from staff and administrators, while others describe lapses in responsiveness and perceived untrustworthiness regarding resident finances. One review raises concerns about handling of money; this elevates the importance of verifying financial safeguards and procedures. There is also mention of inconsistent reception behavior over the phone, including differential treatment based on caller gender; this suggests variability in customer-service tone that may merit attention during tours and calls.

Notable patterns and advice for families: The reviews indicate a polarized experience—many families report excellent, compassionate care and clean surroundings, while a minority report problems that are operational rather than solely personal. Key areas to evaluate in a visit and during family conversations are nurse response times, staffing levels on different shifts, leadership stability, financial safeguards for resident funds, and recent or planned facility updates. Asking for documentation on staff-to-resident ratios, recent staffing changes, and examples of incident communication practices may help clarify whether the facility's strengths align with a prospective resident's needs.
