    Beautiful facility but neglectful lapses

I've had mixed experiences. The facility is beautiful, clean and home-like - Leo and the Serenity team cared for my dad and staff were generally attentive, meals are good, rooms (my mom's has a TV) and visits are open. However administration seems focused on numbers, some staff were impatient and we saw neglectful lapses (unclean bedding, unwashed water cups, missing vitamins), so I can't fully recommend it without caution.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment in these reviews is mixed but leans positive overall, with multiple reviewers praising the facility for providing a home-like environment, responsive caregiving, and an improved quality of life for their loved ones. Several reviewers used strong positive language — calling staff "excellent," describing the facility as "beautiful" and "clean," and crediting individual caregivers (one named Leo) with noticeably improving a family member’s well-being. Positive operational details appear repeatedly: residents often have private rooms with TVs, meals are described as good, and visiting is straightforward and visitor-friendly (chairs provided and open, transparent access for visitors).

Care quality and staff: A prominent positive theme is attentive, available staff who provide excellent, caring service. Many reviewers emphasize that staff are responsive and contribute to resident happiness and quality of life. However, there is a clear and significant countervailing theme: several reviews report poor treatment and neglect. Specific allegations include staff being impatient, neglectful care, bedding and drinking cups left unclean, insufficient linen changes, and even accusations of vitamins being stolen. These negative reports suggest inconsistent execution of care standards — some families report excellent day-to-day support, while others report lapses that materially affect resident comfort and safety.

Facilities and cleanliness: Multiple reviewers praise the environment as clean, comfortable, and home-like; private rooms with TVs and a pleasant physical environment are repeatedly noted as strengths. Conversely, complaints about unclean bedding and water cups indicate that cleanliness standards may not be uniformly upheld. This pattern — strong positive impressions from many but specific, concrete cleanliness complaints from others — points to variability in housekeeping and monitoring rather than a uniformly poor or uniformly excellent facility.

Dining, activities, and visitor experience: Dining is described positively by reviewers who specifically mention "good meals." Visitor experience is another relative strength: testimonials note the facility is open and transparent to visitors, chairs are provided for visits, and families feel comfortable coming in. These operational practices support a family-friendly atmosphere for those who reported positive experiences.

Management and organizational concerns: While frontline staff receive considerable praise from multiple reviewers, there is a distinct critique aimed at administration. At least one reviewer perceives administration as "focused on numbers" with a lack of resident-centered focus. The facility’s website being described as outdated is a minor practical concern but may signal a lag in communications or investment in public-facing resources. Taken together with the reports of inconsistent care and specific issues (theft of vitamins, feelings of being treated like prisoners), these management-level criticisms suggest systemic issues in oversight, staffing consistency, or policy enforcement that warrant attention.

Notable patterns and recommendations for prospective families: The reviews present a polarized picture — many families report excellent, attentive care and a meaningful improvement in quality of life, while a smaller but serious subset report neglect, cleanliness failures, and troubling incidents such as alleged theft of vitamins and overly restrictive treatment. Because of that variability, prospective residents and families should conduct in-person visits, ask for details on staffing ratios and turnover, review cleaning and medication-handling protocols, inquire about incident reporting and follow-up procedures, and speak to current families when possible. The presence of named positive caregivers (e.g., Leo) indicates that individual staff members can make a large difference in outcomes; likewise, isolated negative reports indicate potential weak points in supervision or consistency.

Bottom line: Serenity Senior Care receives strong praise for compassionate, attentive care and a warm, home-like environment from multiple reviewers, with particular strengths in personal attention, visitor access, and the facility’s physical environment. At the same time, serious negative reports about neglect, cleanliness, medication or supplement mismanagement, and administrative priorities raise important concerns about consistency and oversight. These mixed signals suggest the facility can deliver excellent care but that outcomes may depend heavily on individual caregivers and management responsiveness; careful, targeted questions and in-person evaluation are recommended before making placement decisions.

Serenity Senior Care sits in a quiet spot and offers a homelike feel for seniors who need help with daily chores like bathing, getting dressed, doing laundry, and preparing meals, and folks can count on round-the-clock staff and caregivers who make sure everyone is well-groomed, comfortable, and as independent as possible without being forced into diapers or losing their privacy, plus the rooms come private or shared, some with kitchenettes and TVs, and there's both independent and assisted living, as well as memory care and nursing care for those who need it, and there are only up to 9 beds in this residential care home, which means the place doesn't get crowded and everyone gets attention. There are social and spiritual activities, including Christian services, group outings, and plenty of on-site programs to keep busy with, such as arts and crafts, wellness and fitness classes, music therapy, pet visits, movie nights, and even a garden area for those who like to spend time outside. Residents can get help with medication, wound care, occupational therapy, and podiatry visits, and they'll find nurses, senior care experts, and caregivers who know how to handle conditions like dementia and Alzheimer's, making sure each person has a care plan that fits their needs. For meals, the kitchen staff prepares food that meets special diets-low sodium, diabetic, gluten-free, vegetarian, kosher, and so on-and healthy snacks are always around, with scheduled meal times or flexible dining. There's an emergency alert system, wheelchair access, private and shared bathrooms where folks can manage independently, and storage or housekeeping services to keep everything tidy. Transportation's available for doctor trips, church, or little errands, and the building keeps things simple with features like a fitness center, reading room, beauty salon, Wi-Fi, game rooms, and more. Serenity Senior Care is licensed by Nevada with a maximum of 5 or sometimes up to 9 residents, depending on the type of care, and the focus stays on giving each senior respect, privacy, and the care they need to stay active, safe, and as content as possible.
