    Peaceful countryside vibe, superb care

I live here and am very pleased - a beautiful, spacious 3-room suite with great views and a gorgeous campus of gardens, trails, pool and woodworking shop. Staff are professional, caring and organized; dining is superb and activities are abundant (fitness, music, bridge, faith services), with on-site massage and excellent memory/skilled nursing. Covid-safe, welcoming residents, and a peaceful Keene countryside vibe - a very strong choice for active seniors.

    Summary of reviews

Covenant Living of Keene is consistently described as a well-appointed, activity-rich senior living community with strong amenities and a pronounced country-countryside feel. The campus and apartments receive frequent praise for attractive design, scenic views, and quality finishes (stainless steel appliances, granite counters, tile flooring, screened porches/balconies). Grounds, gardens, walking trails, and specialty spaces such as a woodworking shop and greenhouse support a wide range of leisure and therapeutic pursuits.

Staff and care quality are central strengths for many residents and visitors. Numerous accounts describe caring, patient, and professional employees across hospitality and clinical roles, with specific praise for memory-care staff in some areas. The community offers on-site skilled nursing and memory-care services in a facility described as modern and well-equipped. At the same time, there are mixed observations about caregiving consistency; reviewers indicate variable staff performance and occasional delays in responsiveness, particularly in assisted living and memory-care settings. These comments suggest that staffing levels or training/oversight may be uneven across shifts or departments.

Dining and programming are consistently highlighted. Food quality is repeatedly characterized as high, with a chef-driven menu, attractive presentation, and social dining formats that foster resident interaction. Programming is broad and active: exercise classes, singing groups, classical music and concerts, movies, Zoom and in-person engagement, hiking, bridge, and other clubs. Fitness and therapy amenities, including a strong fitness center and an indoor pool with meadow views, support active lifestyles.

Operational and administrative patterns are generally positive but include notable caveats. Many visitors report helpful, informative tours and transparent COVID-19 protocols that made families feel safe. Conversely, several critiques point to management behaviors perceived as financially driven, as well as communication and record-keeping gaps. Administrative lapses have included mailing/addressing errors and outdated information, which raise privacy and process-control concerns that prospective families should review. There is also mixed sentiment about cost: while one comparison framed pricing as competitive relative to local averages, other comments describe the community as expensive—indicating that value perceptions may vary by service level and individual budget.

Overall, Covenant Living of Keene appears to offer a high-quality living environment with strong dining, extensive activities, attractive facilities, and many compassionate staff members. Prospective residents and families should plan a focused visit and ask targeted questions about staffing patterns (especially in assisted living/memory care), response times for clinical needs, administrative processes for mail and records, and how pricing varies by care level. Doing so will clarify whether the community’s strengths align with a particular resident’s clinical needs and expectations for continuity of care and administrative reliability.

    About Covenant Living of Keene

Covenant Living of Keene sits near Keene, NH, offering independent living, assisted living, memory care, and skilled nursing so people can find care that fits what they need, and the community has a big 62-acre campus with modern buildings and lovely landscaping, and there's a walking path across the meadow where folks stroll or just sit and watch the birds. The apartments have names like Avalon, Franklin, Lafayette, Whittier, Hale, Cabot, Cannon, Madison, and Hancock, each with different sizes and layouts, so a person might see a one-bedroom at 672 square feet or a large house-sized unit at 1,714 square feet, and these places have things like full kitchens, washer and dryer, screened balconies, some with dens, wood floors, walk-in closets, and lots of windows that bring in the sun. The Prospect-Woodward Assisted Living neighborhood has 43 private suites, each with its own bathroom, shower, living room, kitchenette, and some pleasant views with natural light, and people feel safe knowing they can get help with daily things like bathing, dressing, or medications from an experienced care staff who work together and talk often with families.

Housekeeping and maintenance get done for them, so folks don't have to worry about chores anymore, and three meals a day come from a chef and team who use fresh local foods, and residents eat with others in a bright dining area. There's a beauty salon, spa tubs, cozy seating near fireplaces, a big indoor pool for aqua exercises, a fitness program, and activities like lectures, movie nights in a theater with nice chairs, music groups, and spring or summer gardening beds where people can grow flowers or herbs. Some enjoy cocktail parties, chorus singing, and live performances, and there are educational talks and dine-in luncheons to keep the days interesting, and open houses bring everyone together now and then, so it helps people to feel part of a lively community that values being busy in body and mind. Covenant Living of Keene gives access to rehabilitation and therapy through HealthPRO Heritage, so residents can get physical, occupational, and speech therapies right on campus, and there are programs like SAIDO Learning for memory support too, along with caregiver support groups, psychiatric care, and even support from Valley Cares Inc. for affordable housing and home care services.

There's more than one type of floor plan, covering independent living, assisted living, memory support, and skilled nursing so a person can move in and find what they need as time goes on, and respite care gives a break to caregivers now and then, either for assisted living or skilled nursing. The buildings look modern and have comfortable furniture, big community areas, courtyards to enjoy the outside, and both residents and their families say the staff stay caring and careful during tough times like Covid, keeping everyone informed with clear communication. Folks who live here often say they feel secure and cared for, surrounded by a community of people who like to do, think, plan, and help, and since things like support with errands, health, and fun are all handled, people can simply enjoy retirement at their own pace.
