    About Prospect Place

Prospect Place, also called Prospect-Woodward Home, sits in a quiet neighborhood and has cared for seniors since the 1800s as a licensed health care facility, never really losing that sense of history even as it's changed names and merged with The Woodward Home. Prospect Place is a nonprofit with space for up to 24 residents in a two-story building that has elevator access, private rooms with half-baths, and several common areas like a dining room, shared lounges, library, and an arts room. It offers a full range of care-independent living if someone's healthy and just wants to avoid home maintenance or chores, assisted living for help with dressing, bathing, and medication, and memory care for residents with Alzheimer's or other forms of dementia with a focus on safety and minimizing confusion. Nurses and personal care assistants are always present, with support for things like bathing, toileting, mobility, wound care, and even occupational and podiatry services. Residents get 24-hour staff attention and emergency call systems in every room, plus daily housekeeping, laundry, and meal service catered to special diets like diabetes or allergies. There's a strong routine for health and wellness programs, art, educational activities, movie nights, and exercise sessions, with outings to places off-site and transportation available. Residents who can't get around easily are assisted, and wheelchair access is available throughout. There's a garden, walking paths, a fitness center, a barber and salon, and even Wi-Fi and cable TV in every room to help keep people connected and comfortable. Prospect Place stands out in the area for its long history, warm and home-like setting, and attention to medical details, as nurses handle medication management and help coordinate care with outside healthcare providers for things like dental, rehab, or wound care. Housekeeping, dry cleaning, and maintenance are included, and the dining services are widely recognized for quality, even winning community awards for best meals and friendliest atmosphere. Prospective residents can choose from different care plans-long-term, respite, adult daycare, or in-home services managed by trained aides-so people who want to keep living at home get some support too. There's always staff on hand, and the overall environment stays active and social, with community-sponsored and resident-run activities so no one feels isolated. Floor plans and payment options are available for families that want to learn more, and the whole place is managed by an executive director and staff of about thirty people who focus on helping seniors live as independently and safely as possible. The property itself is still undergoing some changes, like a proposed expansion from 17 to 26 beds and a new life plan community under construction, but through it all, Prospect Place stays committed to health care, comfort, and dignity for every resident, especially those needing assisted living, memory care, or independent living with less worry and more chances to be with others.
