    Spotless spacious caring engaging community

I placed my mom here and I'm very pleased: the facility is spotless, the apartments are spacious with private baths and patios, and the grounds are lovely. The staff (Carol stood out) are warm, knowledgeable and attentive, the food is excellent with good choices, and there's a full schedule of activities, fitness amenities and outings that make it feel safe, homey and engaging.

    Summary of reviews

Harvest Hill is generally described as a clean, well-maintained senior living community with a warm, family-like atmosphere. Residents and families frequently cite spacious apartment options (including two-bedroom units with private living rooms, patios or balconies) and attractive common areas such as multiple libraries, a lobby, recreation spaces, and extensive outdoor grounds that back onto wooded areas. The location—adjacent to a hospital and with a parking garage for seasonal snow clearing—was noted as convenient for families and for access to healthcare.

Clinical care and frontline staff are a recurring strength. Reviewers emphasize attentive and compassionate nursing staff, knowledgeable caregivers, consistent medication management, and clear nurse-family communication. The community offers around-the-clock emergency response, which contributes to family peace of mind. Several accounts describe proactive move-in support and ongoing family communication; one staff member (Carol) was highlighted as an example of helpful, collaborative assistance during transitions.

Dining and daily life are also strong points. The dining program is characterized as high-quality with multiple meal choices and accommodating service. Activities programming is broad and active, spanning music groups, community speakers, arts and crafts, fitness classes, games, singing groups, and organized day trips. On-site amenities include a workout room, pool, Jacuzzi, game tables, and multiple quiet and social spaces, which support both socialization and physical activity.

There are facility-level limitations to be aware of. Several reviewers indicated that the community’s assisted-living and memory-care capacity is limited and may not accommodate residents whose needs increase significantly; this creates a risk that residents will need to relocate to another facility if their care requirements escalate. Staffing patterns were described as inconsistent by some, with turnover and periods of high workload that can create responsiveness delays during busy times. Management-level concerns were also mentioned, including perceptions of uneven leadership or human-resources support.

Practical considerations include dining-room size and parking availability; some families noted the dining area can feel small and parking is limited. Cost is another recurring theme—residents generally describe the community as expensive, though many consider the benefits to justify the price. Overall, Harvest Hill appears to deliver strong day-to-day quality of life, good clinical communication, varied programming, and well-kept facilities, while prospective residents and families should evaluate long-term care needs, staffing stability, leadership fit, and budget alignment during their decision process.
