    Beautiful modern cottages, compassionate staff

I moved my mom to Summit by Morrison and we're very pleased. The fairly new, beautifully designed community has roomy, up-to-date cottages and apartments with in-unit kitchens, patios and spotless grounds. Staff are friendly, professional and compassionate-move-in was effortless, communication is respectful, and daily check-ins give us real peace of mind. Restaurant-style, chef-prepared meals, varied activities and welcoming residents make it feel like home; I recommend it.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression: Reviews present a largely positive picture of daily life at Summit by Morrison, with repeated praise for the staff, dining model, facilities, and activity offerings. Many families and residents describe compassionate, professional caregiving and frequent staff check-ins that provide family members with reassurance and a sense of dignity for residents. The community’s design and recent construction are commonly highlighted — reviewers note modern finishes, well‑kept grounds, and a clean environment that contributes to residents’ comfort.

Care and staff: Staff performance is the strongest recurring theme. Numerous accounts emphasize friendly, attentive, and respectful interactions, with staff willing to listen and assist. Move-in experiences are often described as smooth and well-orchestrated, and families cite clear, respectful communication from team members. At the same time, a subset of comments point to variability in leadership and management consistency; these describe instances of uneven follow-through or elevated concern over how certain administrative or clinical matters were handled. The pattern suggests largely reliable day-to-day caregiving with occasional lapses in higher-level management consistency.

Dining: Dining is a distinguishing feature: the community offers restaurant-style, chef-prepared meals with menu-order options, varied weekly menus, and praise for the on-site chef and baker. Many reviewers rated food quality highly and appreciated the variety and presentation. However, there are conflicting reports about meal quality and execution, indicating inconsistent delivery in some cases. Prospective residents should verify current dining operations and sample meals during a visit to confirm consistency with their expectations.

Activities and programming: Activity programming is another strength. Reviewers cite a broad mix of offerings — live music (including pianists), movie days, fitness classes, outings, social hours, and arts-and-crafts — that keep residents engaged. Special events (for example, car parades and outdoor visits) and opportunities for social participation contribute to a sense of community and resident satisfaction.

Facilities and housing: The campus is described as modern and well maintained, with a range of housing configurations from studios to larger apartments and cottages. Positive notes include spacious units with in‑unit kitchens, private patios, and good natural light; some units include garages and sun porches. That said, reviewers also noted variation in unit size and layout across different buildings and cottages, so the exact living-space experience can differ substantially depending on unit selection.

Management and notable patterns: Most operational aspects — move-ins, daily care, activities, and grounds maintenance — receive favorable comments. Notable concerns center on administrative and contractual areas: a number of accounts describe confusion or dissatisfaction with lease terms, difficulty altering contracts after move-in, and perceptions of inconsistent management priorities. There are also mixed impressions about dining consistency and isolated negative comments about leadership or clinical oversight. These patterns point to generally strong frontline staffing and amenities, with some risk of variability in management practices and contract administration.

Recommendation guidance: For prospective residents and families, Summit by Morrison appears to offer a modern, active community with strong caregiving, appealing dining when it is well executed, and diverse activities. During a visit, request a meal tasting, review the specific lease terms and amendment policies in writing, tour the exact unit(s) available to confirm size/layout, and speak with current residents about recent management responsiveness to ensure expectations about consistency and contract flexibility are aligned with the community’s current operations.

    About Summit by Morrison

Summit by Morrison - Whitefield, NH sits right at the edge of the White Mountains in the town center, so residents can take in mountain views while enjoying easy access to shops and restaurants, and the facility itself makes things pretty straightforward with its separate apartments, cottages, and studios for independent living, assisted living, memory care, and nursing care, so there are choices depending on how much help someone needs, and there's help available for daily routines like bathing and taking medicine, which means staff handle those things as gently as possible and they watch out for safety with routine checks throughout the day and night. Folks here get three meals a day in shared dining rooms, and family can join for a meal or two if they like, and residents can pick from nutritious options, vegetarian choices, and guest meals, with special programs for those with diabetes or those who need less sugar, and the staff also make room service available. Large outdoor spaces invite strolls and some folks enjoy walking the grounds while others take part in planned activities like fitness classes, cocktail hours, and outings, and there's a whole calendar full of things like social events, cultural activities, and devotional services, both onsite and offsite, helping people stay active and connected. The Memory Care Day Program provides extra support for seniors with dementia or Alzheimer's, with gentle routines and spaces set up to prevent wandering and confusion. The Morrison Skilled Nursing Facility and Sartwell Place Assisted Living are two other parts of the community offering rehabilitation, hospice care, respite care for short-term stays, and both inpatient and outpatient therapy, so even if someone needs more help after surgery or illness, there's medical staff and therapy available to help them get back on their feet. Residents can expect individualized care plans based on their unique needs, and regular check-ins from trained staff, with help for incontinence, diabetes management, and other health concerns. Apartments come with Wi-Fi, easy access for wheelchairs, laundry and housekeeping services, and access to a beautician, so folks don't have to worry about chores or getting around, and those who want to keep living at home a bit longer can use the home care services, where trained aides offer company and help with tasks. Pets can stay close by, too, which means animal lovers don't have to leave their companions behind, and the general feeling here tends to be one of friendliness, with staff described as helpful, joyful, and kind. Summit by Morrison offers several service levels, so seniors can stay in the same community even as their needs change over time, making it easier for families not to worry about moving to a new place every time something changes, and they've even got help available by phone with local experts and senior living advisors who guide families through options and the moving process, plus the ability to take a virtual tour before deciding. The facility has a 4.0 star rating, which puts it in the "Excellent" range, and people are able to look at published prices, community info, and verifiable reviews so there are fewer surprises. All in all, Summit by Morrison gives seniors options for how they want to live, with the ability to get more help as they need it, and this makes it a steady choice for many folks who want a mix of support, safety, and connection.
