I'm very satisfied with this family-oriented community. The staff are kind, compassionate and attentive - my loved one was treated with dignity and made comfortable. The facility is clean, bright and homey, with spacious rooms, good meals, on-site medical care and plenty of activities (bingo, outings, crafts). Management is approachable and helped with the transition; I recommend this place for quality, respectful long-term care.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression Terraces at Parke Place is described most often as a clean, well-kept, and home-oriented assisted living community with a strong emphasis on social programming and familiar staff–resident relationships. Many families and residents praise the welcoming atmosphere, spacious rooms furnished with residents' own belongings, and a range of amenities such as salons, lounges, a library, and well-maintained outdoor areas. The community presents as modern and organized in many accounts, and tours are generally described as informative and welcoming.

Care and staff A consistent strength identified across feedback is the interpersonal quality of care: staff are frequently described as courteous, compassionate, and attentive, and nursing and medical staff receive positive remarks, including the convenience of physician availability and hospice accommodation when needed. Staff who know residents by name and take a personal approach are often cited as contributing to a family-like environment. At the same time, reviewers also raise operational concerns: there are recurring notes about inconsistent staffing levels and occasional delays in responsiveness to resident needs. A subset of comments calls out weaknesses in medication-administration systems, specifically the absence of electronic monitoring, which some families see as a clinical-control gap.

Dining Dining impressions are mixed. Many residents and families report varied meal choices, sufficient portions, and a pleasant dining atmosphere that contributes to the homelike feel. Others describe the food as uneven in quality—some calling it old-fashioned or unsatisfactory—and some reports mention inconsistent service or staff attitude in the dining operation. Prospective families may wish to observe a meal service during a visit to assess current consistency and presentation.

Activities and social life Programming is a clear positive: reviewers note frequent, varied activities such as games, crafts, painting, sing-alongs, movie nights, cards and bingo, library access, and off-site outings. These opportunities appear to support social engagement and acclimation for new residents, and several accounts emphasize that the activity schedule helps residents make friends and remain involved.

Facilities and amenities Physical spaces are generally praised as bright, clean, and well-maintained, with comfortable common areas and nicely furnished large rooms. Amenities such as a beauty salon, transportation services, lounges, and outdoor gardening opportunities add to the appeal. A minority of comments, however, suggest that some areas or aspects of the facility feel less updated, indicating some variability in condition across spaces.

Management and value Many families describe management as accessible, helpful during transitions, and willing to work with families on appointments and care coordination. There are also positive notes about responsiveness during difficult times and accommodating hospice needs. Counterbalancing this, a number of reviews express concern about inconsistent executive oversight and management follow-through. Price and perceived value are mixed: some families consider the community reasonable or excellent value, while others find it expensive for the level of service received.

Notable patterns and guidance for prospective families Feedback is polarized in a way that suggests a generally strong core experience (clean environment, personable staff, active programming) but with operational variability that can meaningfully affect an individual’s experience. The most frequently noted operational weaknesses are inconsistent staffing, variable dining quality, gaps in medication-monitoring technologies, and intermittent communication shortfalls with families after clinical events. Prospective residents and families would benefit from direct observation of daily routines (mealtime, activity sessions, shift change), specific questions about staffing ratios and medication-administration procedures, and clear written information about pricing and services included. Overall, Terraces at Parke Place offers many attributes families value in assisted living, paired with a few repeatable operational concerns that are worth clarifying during a tour and meeting with leadership.

    About Terraces at Parke Place

Terraces At Parke Place sits on 661 Delsea Drive in Sewell, New Jersey, tucked away in a grove-like area with a comforting, welcoming feel, and you'll spot the traditional craftsman design with redbrick and a charming wrap-around balcony right away, which some folks find cozy. The community supports older adults with many care options, since it's a continuing care retirement community, so residents find independent living, assisted living, memory care for dementia or Alzheimer's, skilled nursing, respite care, and even hospice care if needed, and as health needs change, staff can adjust support right on the same campus, which many families like for convenience and peace of mind. Living suites run pretty spacious, with private bathrooms, kitchenettes that include a full-size fridge and microwave, high-speed internet, and emergency call systems for safety, plus temperature controls to keep rooms comfortable, and private rooms are an option for folks who like their own space.

Staff are available 24 hours a day, every day, to help with things like medication, bathing, dressing, and transfers, and they're trained to provide nursing support, too. The facility follows a strict no smoking policy indoors, but it does allow pets, so residents can bring their companions along, and it's committed to making the environment as home-like as possible. For activities, there's something most days, from games and parties to outings, movie nights, music, and more, with both staff and resident-run events, and when someone wants a quieter day, there's access to a garden, library, sunroom, several cozy living rooms with fireplaces, and a bistro for snacks or chats. Outdoor patio and courtyard spaces give room for walking and sitting in fresh air, and walking paths wind around the property for those who like to stretch their legs. There's also a fitness room, wellness spa, movie theater, activity rooms, and spaces devoted to arts and music, so there's plenty to do without having to leave campus unless you want to.

Dining is restaurant-style, with three meals cooked and served daily, including options for special diets like allergies or diabetes, and snacks are easy to get when someone gets hungry between meals. The staff helps with housekeeping, laundry, dry cleaning, bed making, and daily trash removal, so most chores are off residents' plates, and there's even move-in coordination when a new resident arrives. Transportation is available for shopping, outings, and appointments, with parking for those who still drive, and the constant staff presence keeps things running smoothly.

Memory care is tailored for those who need it, with secure settings and activities meant to keep the mind active, and specialized therapy is available for physical, occupational, or speech needs, so people get the right support when they need it. The staff handles emergencies quickly thanks to a call system in each suite, and care plans are personal, adjusted for each person's independence level and needs. The place is family-owned, so staff try to treat everyone with kindness and attention, almost like family, and the same focus on respect and support runs through things like helping with daily living tasks and organizing social and wellness programs.

The Terraces At Parke Place sits within about 30 minutes of Philadelphia, making visits from loved ones pretty easy, and there are parks, stores, restaurants, and hospitals close by, so residents don't feel isolated from the world. The facility holds an "Advanced Standing" recognition from the New Jersey Department of Health, meaning it maintains good standards for care and meets regulations, and it's involved in national and state quality assurance programs, which shows the staff are always working to improve. Religious and devotional services are offered offsite for those who want spiritual support, and weekly outing schedules let residents keep up with community life beyond the campus.

Whether someone's looking for independent living, help with daily care, memory care, or even skilled nursing, Terraces At Parke Place offers a stable, neighborly environment with the types of support and activities that old folks and their families tend to look for, with plenty of ways to stay social, active, and safe while still having the privacy and comfort of a personal space that fits their needs.
