    Excellent rehab care and services

I moved my mom here for rehab and have been very satisfied. The cozy, personalized rooms, clean facility, homemade/tasty meals, plentiful activities, and strong therapy and nursing teams (plus a helpful administrator and director of nursing) gave me confidence, especially with their COVID protocols. The staff are caring, responsive, and professional - I would recommend it for short- or long-term stays.

    Summary of reviews

Reviewer feedback on Oak Hill Manor shows a clear split between clinical and rehabilitation strengths and recurring operational weaknesses. Many reviewers praised the facility's therapy programs (physical, occupational, speech) and recounted successful short-term rehabilitation outcomes. Families and residents frequently described direct-care staff โ€” nurses, CNAs, and therapists โ€” as compassionate, knowledgeable, and effective when present. Infection-control measures and COVID protocols were also noted positively in several accounts.

At the same time, a consistent pattern of staffing instability emerges. Multiple accounts describe high resident-to-staff ratios, inconsistent staffing by shift, and delays in attending to call bells and requests. Those staffing issues are linked in several reports to lapses in timely clinical attention for residents with greater acuity, and to concerns about fluid management and incontinence-care delays that, in at least one account, preceded a hospitalization. These operational gaps suggest the facility may be better suited to residents who need routine nursing and rehabilitation rather than intensive, high-acuity care.

Dining and housekeeping feedback is mixed. Several reviewers praised homemade, healthy meals and described a generally pleasant dining experience; others described late or cold meals, inconsistent meal quality, and isolated instances of spoiled items. Cleanliness and maintenance also vary by unit and shift: some areas and rooms are described as clean and well-kept, while other reports document bathroom maintenance problems, nonworking dispensers, clogged fixtures, and inconsistent room housekeeping. The building is repeatedly described as aging, with small rooms, shared bathrooms, and narrow corridors that constrain space and contribute to a more institutional feel.

Management and administrative processes are another area of concern. Comments reference billing disputes, communication breakdowns with families, misplaced personal items, and frequent leadership turnover or unresponsiveness from administration. There are also serious individual allegations regarding handling of personal property; these statements, while not uniform, suggest the need for clearer property-management controls and improved family communication protocols.

Overall, Oak Hill Manor presents notable strengths in rehabilitation services, dedicated direct-care staff, and some strong clinical leadership, especially in infection-control practices. However, recurring issues with staffing consistency, response times, food-service reliability, sanitation maintenance, and administrative communication are prominent. Prospective residents and families should weigh the facility's rehabilitation and therapy capabilities against these operational concerns, and consider confirming current staffing levels, care plans for higher-acuity needs, meal schedules, and property-management policies during a tour or intake conversation.
