    Excellent care, clean modern apartments

I moved my parents here and I'm very happy with the decision. The staff are friendly, helpful and efficient, and the care is excellent. The modern, very clean two-bedroom apartments have full kitchens, in-unit washer/dryer and a sunroom/patio; utilities and weekly cleaning are included and it's pet-friendly. Dining is classy with good food, and there are active programs, outings and transportation - great value at about $2,500/month.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment in the reviews for Clapp's Mountain Top Living Residential Apartments is strongly positive. Reviewers repeatedly highlight friendly, helpful, and efficient staff and describe the facility as clean, modern, and well-maintained. Many comments emphasize a homelike, classy feel rather than an institutional or nursing-home atmosphere. Multiple reviewers explicitly state that residents (including parents who moved in) are happy and grateful for the care and environment.

Apartment features and value are central positives. The property offers two-bedroom layouts with full kitchens, solariums/sunrooms, in-unit washer/dryer, dishwashers, walk-in showers, and patio or outdoor access. Kitchens are described as fully furnished with accessories and units are laid out well. Weekly apartment cleaning, utilities included in rent, and pet-friendly policies further increase perceived value. Several reviewers call the place a very good value and quote competitive pricing (around $2,500), calling it one of the best-priced options. The complex has practical amenities such as an elevator and an all-purpose room.

Dining and food service receive favorable mentions: reviewers note a nice dining area, formal dining-room ambiance, an efficient kitchen, and a generally good menu. There is also a flexible meal option mentioned (one meal-a-day option), which some see as convenient. Activity programming is robust — reviewers describe active programs, regular outings, bingo, exercise classes, crafts, and trips (including voting van and zoo visits). Transportation to doctors is provided, supporting residents’ medical appointments and community engagement. Reviewers also note good connections with local medical facilities, adding to the sense of safety and convenience.

Management and ownership are viewed positively. The facility is independently owned and operated, with staff described as open, helpful, and efficient. Several reviews highlight personalized attention, flexible furnishing policies, and a responsive team. Cleanliness and upkeep are frequent themes: reviewers describe the building as very clean and well-kept, and praise the dining staff and kitchen efficiency.

Noted concerns and limitations are relatively few but consistent enough to acknowledge. Availability of first-floor openings appears limited, which could matter for residents needing ground-level access. Some two-bedroom units are described as small, so prospective residents should verify unit size and layout against their needs. The meal-plan flexibility may be limited for some—reviews mention a one-meal-a-day option which could be seen as restrictive depending on preferences. Location is also noted: despite the name, reviewers point out it is not in the mountains and can be about 50 miles away from mountain areas, which may be relevant for those seeking a mountain setting. Finally, a few reviews say there is insufficient information to judge suitability for higher-acuity assisted living needs, suggesting prospective residents should ask directly about levels of care and specific medical support if those services are required.

In summary, reviews paint Clapp's Mountain Top Living as a well-priced, clean, and modern residential community with strong staff, comfortable apartments with full kitchens and helpful in-unit amenities, active programming, and good dining. It appears particularly well-suited for independent seniors seeking a homelike environment with basic supportive services (transportation to doctors, weekly cleaning, meals) and social activities. Prospective residents should confirm unit sizes, first-floor availability, and specific assisted-living care options if higher-level medical or personal care services are needed, and note the facility's distance from mountain areas if a particular location is important.
