    Compassionate staff, safe community, recommended

I'm very pleased with this loving, family-style community - the staff are kind, attentive, and genuinely care (24-hour CNAs, nurse and med tech support, weekly doctor checkups). The facility is clean, well-maintained and comfortable with great amenities (dining room, lounges, salon, laundry), varied activities, and excellent physical therapy. The owners and new administrator listen and are making positive improvements; residents feel safe, make friends, and are well taken care of - I'd recommend it.

    Summary of reviews

Reviews of The Ivy at Clemmons present a polarized picture: many current residents and several families describe a supportive, social, well-staffed environment with good clinical resources, while other accounts highlight operational weaknesses that prospective families should probe. Positive feedback centers on hands-on caregiving (including round-the-clock CNA coverage, on-site nursing and med-tech support, and weekly physician checkups), and a widely praised physical-therapy program. Residents commonly describe a warm, family-like atmosphere, longstanding peer relationships, and a range of activities and shared spaces (lounges, dining room, salon, laundry) that contribute to social engagement.

At the same time, reviews indicate notable operational inconsistencies. Staffing and responsiveness are described as variable — with examples of attentive, caring personnel alongside accounts of busy or inattentive shifts. Cleanliness and sanitation appear to have improved in areas following recent upgrades, but some reviewers continue to note odor concerns and other housekeeping gaps in parts of the building. Dining service elicits mixed reactions: some residents appreciate the dining room and amenities, while others raise concerns about food quality and staff professionalism during meal service.

Clinical coordination and administrative processes are recurring themes. Several reviewers describe difficulty obtaining medical documentation and a lack of accompaniment to outside medical appointments, suggesting weaknesses in care coordination and documentation workflows. There are also indications of gaps in safety oversight and incident-response procedures; references to resident-to-resident safety incidents and involvement of external authorities suggest families should ask about the facility’s incident protocols, supervision policies, and follow-up communication practices. The facility has undergone rapid leadership changes, and reviewers note both the disruptive effects of turnover and active efforts by a new team and ownership to implement corrective actions.

Overall, The Ivy at Clemmons appears to offer tangible strengths in direct care, therapy services, and resident community life, and recent management attention has produced visible improvements in facilities and processes. However, variability in staffing consistency, sanitation in some areas, dining professionalism, clinical coordination for external care, and administrative responsiveness remain areas of concern. Prospective residents and families would be well served to tour the site, observe staffing patterns during different shifts, inquire about staffing ratios and supervision, request examples of documentation workflows and incident-response protocols, and review recent state inspection findings and corrective actions before making a placement decision.

    About The Ivy at Clemmons

The Ivy at Clemmons sits on Meadowbrook Mall Court in Clemmons, North Carolina, and you'll find it has private rooms and shared spaces, so most folks can choose what suits them best, whether it's a semi-private area, a one-bedroom, or a private living space with a kitchenette since they publish prices for different rooms, which is always helpful when you're planning. Residents who live here or their families seem to give it high ratings; you'll find there's a minimum age to move in, pets are allowed, though there's no smoking inside anywhere, and hospice services are available if needed. Transportation's complimentary so people can get out for doctor visits or errands, and the community offers a big range of activities, both for mental and physical exercise, right on the property, plus you'll always find meals provided, usually restaurant-style, in nicely decorated common areas where people can sit together or spend quiet time.

They run things in a mid-rise building with lounges, a dining room, laundry room, and even a salon, while a nurse and med techs, along with CNAs, are around 24 hours a day for peace of mind, and there are weekly doctor check-ups along with housekeeping and laundry services to keep things running smooth and clean. The place welcomes both assisted living and memory care residents, with services built to help with daily things like bathing, dressing, or remembering medicine, and for those managing Alzheimer's or other memory-related conditions, they've got care and therapies designed just for that. People who want independent living and don't need much support can choose that option, spending time with others in a safe, social setting, and the home care service means trained aides come by to offer company and non-medical help if needed, plus there are care homes set up as shared neighborhood houses for people who want a live-in caregiver, which is a little different but works for some. Overall, there's an all-inclusive lifestyle, meaning meals, activities, transportation, and more are covered, and they put a lot of focus on both cleanliness and having a friendly staff, and you'll see amenities like indoor gathering spots, devotional services, and a schedule designed to help folks stay active and engaged, both in body and mind, with a supportive environment set up to help each person keep their independence as much as possible.
