    Immaculate small home, caring staff

I toured this immaculate, top-of-the-line six-resident home in a beautiful, quiet neighborhood and was impressed - spotless inside and out, nice appearance, on-street parking. Staff are friendly and caring (owner is an RN; three CNAs on 12-hour shifts) and the small group-home environment really outshines others I saw; food was okay. My only concern is whether it can meet significant mobility needs - cost wasn't disclosed.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the review summaries is strongly positive about the facility’s physical environment, staff attentiveness, and small-home model, with a few important caveats related to pricing transparency and suitability for residents with mobility needs.

Facilities and setting: Reviewers repeatedly emphasize the home’s high-quality, even “top-of-the-line,” environment. The property is described as beautiful and immaculate both inside and out, situated in a nice, quiet neighborhood. The small scale (six residents) is a recurring theme and is framed positively—creating a homelike, intimate setting rather than an institutional feel. Practical notes such as on-street parking are mentioned, which suggests reasonable accessibility for visitors. The overall tone positions the house as well maintained and aesthetically superior to other options in the area.

Staffing and care quality: Staffing and clinical oversight are among the facility’s strongest selling points in the reviews. The presence of three CNAs working 12-hour shifts indicates a relatively robust direct-care staffing pattern for a small home, and the owner being a registered nurse adds a layer of professional oversight and clinical credibility. Reviewers describe staff as friendly and caring, which, combined with the small resident census, suggests residents are likely to receive attentive, personalized care. These points support a view that day-to-day caregiving and basic medical supervision are dependable features of this home.

Clinical limitations and concerns: The most notable concern raised is the facility’s suitability for residents with movement or mobility issues. Reviewers explicitly question whether the home can meet care needs related to mobility, which could indicate limitations in equipment (e.g., lifts), space for transfer maneuvers, or staff training for higher-acuity mobility assistance. This is a significant caveat: while staffing levels look favorable, families should clarify capabilities for transfers, fall risk management, and physical-therapy coordination before moving a resident with substantial mobility needs.

Management, transparency, and logistics: Management structure appears favorable due to owner-RN involvement, which typically improves clinical decision-making and responsiveness. However, reviewers note that cost or pricing information was not disclosed, indicating a lack of transparency on an important practical matter. Prospective families should request detailed pricing, contract terms, and what services are included versus billed extra. The combination of a premium physical environment and undisclosed cost raises the possibility that pricing could be high; therefore, explicit financial conversations are recommended.

Dining, activities, and daily life: Comments about food are lukewarm—described as "okay"—so dining may be adequate but not a standout feature. Reviews do not mention activities, social programming, or specialized therapies, so there is no evidence from these summaries of an extensive activity calendar or rehab services. Given the small size, social opportunities may be more intimate but also limited in variety. Families should ask about daily schedules, enrichment activities, and available therapy services if those are priorities.

Bottom line: Gracie Strudivant Care Home is portrayed as a very attractive, well-maintained small group home with strong direct-care staffing and clinical leadership (owner RN), making it a promising option for residents who value a quiet, homelike environment and personalized attention. Important follow-ups for decision-making are to confirm the home’s capacity to safely care for residents with mobility challenges (equipment, staff training, transfer protocols), obtain full pricing and fee schedules, and inquire about dining quality, activities, and therapy services. For residents without significant mobility needs who prioritize environment and one-on-one care, this home appears especially well suited; for those requiring higher-acuity mobility assistance, additional verification is essential.

    About Gracie Strudivant Care Home

Gracie Strudivant Care Home, which goes by Gracie Strudivant Care Home LLC, sits in Knightdale and North Raleigh, both in nice neighborhoods, and they keep the community small with only six residents, so everyone gets a quiet, personal setting with more attention to daily needs, and the staff and the residents tend to form close bonds, almost like family, since the environment is kinship-oriented and folks can really get to know each other. The care home is set up for adult family care and assisted living, but they also have things like memory care for those who have Alzheimer's or other forms of dementia, plus they handle hospice, respite care, and even continuing care so someone can age in the same place without having to move. The building's ADA accessible for safety, has full accessibility, security cameras, fire sprinklers, secure doors, emergency pull-stations, and a generator, so it all feels safe, and people with all sorts of needs, like non-weight bearing, oxygen therapy, feeding tubes, or complex health conditions, can be accommodated, especially since they've got licensed RNs with over 37 years' experience to provide one-on-one care. You'll find many healthcare professionals come in, like nurses, podiatrists, therapists, doctors, and even a dentist, to support day-to-day well-being, and residents get needed help with things like incontinence, diabetes, high acuity cases, and non-ambulatory care, so people can focus less on health worries and more on their lives. The home sets up personal and supportive care, almost like living in a private house, with baths and tubs in rooms, private bathrooms, wheelchair accessible showers, meals provided, and an on-site beautician and barber, and everyone gets to bring their pet if they'd like. Activities run both onsite and offsite, so there's always something to do, and residents have structured programs designed to help with social life, learning, friendship, and entertainment, which keeps everyone engaged, and there's both indoor and outdoor spaces to enjoy. The facility allows for easy transportation and ample resident parking, no smoking is allowed indoors, and the physical location means hospitals, trauma centers, doctor offices, highways, and shopping are all pretty close by, which makes things easier during emergencies or for daily chores. Gracie Strudivant Care Home offers independent living and senior apartments too, so people who are more active can still be part of the community, and all amenities are aimed at keeping residents safe, comfortable, and well-supported no matter what their daily needs might look like, whether it's medical, personal help, or just making sure there's something nice to do with friends, and because the facility is rated A+ by the BBB, it shows a good track record.
