    Clean caring community some drawbacks

I'm very pleased overall - the facility is clean, safe and feels like home; the staff are caring and often go above and beyond, and my loved one made friends quickly thanks to a busy activities program and pleasant courtyards. Apartments are comfortable and well-kept with on-site care options that gave me peace of mind. Caveats: food quality/selection is inconsistent, accessibility/elevator and occasional staffing or management responsiveness issues occur, COVID sometimes curtailed activities, and extra fees/price increases can make it pricey. Still, I would recommend it to families seeking a warm, active senior community.

    About Holiday Forsyth Court

Holiday Forsyth Court sits on Reynolda Road in Winston Salem, NC, with a rustic brick exterior, tall leafy trees, and well-kept gardens all around, giving it a homey feel right from the start, and when you walk inside, you'll notice a cozy fireplace, a library with shelves of books and a world globe, and a bright, inviting atrium with comfortable chairs where residents like to read, chat, or just enjoy the day. The community has apartments in different sizes-studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom-with options for ground floor access, wheelchair accessible showers, bath tubs, kitchenettes, or even fully equipped kitchens, where each unit feels prepared for folks who want to keep their independence but might like a bit of help here and there, and they keep those spaces clean with housekeeping and laundry services every week. Holiday Forsyth Court offers all sorts of services, like independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, home health care, rehab, memory care, and even adult day care, for a total community size of about 52 residents, which keeps things small enough for everyone to know each other but big enough for plenty of activities, so you're likely to find a neighbor enjoying the shaded patios, the fire pit in the courtyard, or the garden where folks plant flowers and veggies when the weather's right. You can choose from rooms with features like queen beds, light wood cabinetry, and full-size refrigerators, and the place is fully furnished for comfort, with communal spaces including a fitness room, activity room, billiard room, small library, TV room, and even a business center, plus Wi-Fi in all the common areas for staying connected, which a lot of grandkids seem to appreciate. There's three made-from-scratch meals every day, all served in the restaurant-style dining room or a smaller private space if you prefer, and a professional chef leads the kitchen staff, making a point to offer special options for dietary needs like gluten-free, low salt, no sugar, vegan, vegetarian, and even seafood-free meals, plus room service for those who'd rather eat in, and if you want to celebrate a birthday or just share a Sunday meal together, they'll set up a private dining room. Holiday Forsyth Court schedules so many activities, from art classes and fitness programs to religious services-both Catholic and Protestant-with a visiting chaplain or priest, plus karaoke, day trips, resident-run clubs, educational speakers, bingo, The Social Series events like Casino Royale, and lots of other community-sponsored gatherings meant for enjoying company and keeping minds sharp. Residents can use on-site beauty and barber salons for a trim, get hair or nail services, and even use a full schedule of transportation options, including rides to clinics like Novant Health Medical Park Hospital and Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist, or for errands, shopping, and local events, using their wheelchair-accessible bus if that's needed, and there's guest and visitor parking too. Medical staff and care providers remain available day and night-24 hours, seven days a week, with an emergency call system and devices like the Lively Mobile Plus personal emergency response, so if there's a need, help comes quickly, and support is there for managing medication, helping with dressing, diabetic care, hospice waivers, and physical, occupational, or speech therapy, as arranged with on-site or third-party providers leasing space right in the building. Holiday Forsyth Court keeps life simple by including maintenance, most utilities, housekeeping, and linen services in their rates, so residents can focus on what makes them happiest, whether that's gardening, playing billiards, reading in the lounge, joining day trips, walking shaded paths, relaxing in the courtyard, or making a craft during an art class. Residents can bring cats or dogs, enjoy smoke alarms and sprinkler systems for safety, and have mail delivered to locked boxes. Holiday Forsyth Court prides itself on being a warm, welcoming place with nice landscaping, caring staff, and a range of living options that can adapt as needs change but doesn't overwhelm with crowds, so there's always a familiar face around, whether you're sipping coffee with friends, flipping through a book in the library, or celebrating with neighbors during one of the monthly social gatherings in the big, cozy community rooms.
