    Compassionate staff helped dad recover

I'm very pleased with the friendly, attentive staff and family-like care - Chasta (DON), Handan, nurses, therapists and aides were compassionate, kept things clean and safe, and even helped my dad regain ambulation. Great food, engaging activities, and supportive, flexible management made the move comfortable; I'd recommend this community, with only minor room for improvement.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression: Reviews present a facility with clear strengths in direct caregiving, rehabilitation, and social programming alongside recurring operational shortcomings. Many families and residents describe a warm, family-like atmosphere supported by long-tenured staff and an active therapy team; at the same time, a subset of accounts highlights inconsistent operational practices that prospective families should probe during a tour.

Care and clinical services: Clinical and rehabilitative care is frequently praised. The therapy teams receive repeated mentions for helping residents regain ambulation and functional mobility, and reviewers cite specific therapists and successful outcomes. Nursing and aide staff are generally described as compassionate and attentive, including positive accounts of end-of-life support. However, there are isolated but significant accounts of minimal or delayed care, missed assistance with activities of daily living, and inconsistent monitoring practices. These suggest variability in responsiveness and in clinical-device upkeep that families should clarify with leadership.

Staff and culture: A dominant theme is a supportive, family-style culture among caregivers and leadership. Many reviewers highlight helpful, encouraging staff, supportive management, and employees who go beyond routine duties. Staff longevity and positive workplace culture are noted as contributors to continuity of care. Conversely, other comments point to staffing and retention challenges and occasional lapses in responsiveness (for example, delayed call-light responses and door-entry delays), which indicate uneven staffing levels or workflow gaps at times.

Dining and nutrition: Dining impressions are mixed. Numerous reviewers praise home-style meals, appealing breakfast offerings, and accommodating dietary choices. At the same time, there are reports of inconsistent meal quality and specific instances of poorly prepared items, indicating variability in food-service execution. Prospective residents should inquire about menu rotation, special-diet handling, and quality-control processes.

Activities and social environment: Activity programming receives consistently positive feedback. Reviewers describe engaging daily activities, meaningful evening programs, opportunities for residents to contribute, and a social atmosphere that promotes resident well-being. Memory-care programming is also described positively, with attentive admissions and activity staff noted.

Facilities and cleanliness: Many comments describe a clean, well-kept facility with comfortable rooms, inviting commons, and peaceful outdoor spaces. There are occasional notes about dated decor and isolated sanitation or room-maintenance inconsistencies. Visitors should assess specific units and the condition of resident rooms during an in-person visit.

Management and administration: Leadership, including nursing leadership and environmental services management, receives praise for flexibility and responsiveness in many accounts. Nevertheless, administrative weaknesses are also described: phone and communication gaps with families, business-office communication failures, and at least one serious allegation involving financial mishandling. Additionally, several reviews reference problems with personal-property management (lost or mishandled clothing) and equipment maintenance (for example, monitoring devices not being charged). These are operational areas to review explicitly with administration.

Notable patterns and guidance: The dominant strength of this facility appears to be its caregiving and therapy teams and the community-oriented culture they create. Recurrent operational weaknesses cluster around service consistency: meal quality, staff responsiveness, communication channels, property handling, and administrative reliability. Prospective families should consider on-site conversations about staffing ratios and turnover, meal-quality controls, property-handling procedures, equipment/monitoring maintenance protocols, and financial safeguards. Asking for recent inspection reports, turnover statistics, and examples of how specific complaints were resolved may help clarify whether operational issues are episodic or systemic.

About Adams Lane Healthcare & Rehabilitation

Adams Lane Healthcare & Rehabilitation sits over on Adams Lane in Zanesville, Ohio, and it really covers a lot of ground when it comes to taking care of people because they offer short-term rehab, long-term care, and even independent living for those who want to keep their own routines, and there's actual "Truly Personalized Care" and "Truly Personalized Living" going on, so everyone has a plan that fits their own needs, whether they're recovering from illness or just need some extra support as they get older. The staff is made up of experienced healthcare folks, and a lot of staff speak other languages besides English, which helps residents feel at home and understood, and for anyone needing therapy, there's on-site physical, occupational, and speech therapies, so getting help with movement, talking, or daily tasks doesn't mean having to leave the building. The place can handle up to 114 residents, spread out across private and shared rooms, and all rooms have Wi-Fi and cable TV, so you can keep up with your shows or stay in touch with family, and there are plenty of snacks and three meals a day served in a restaurant-style dining room, with special diets handled as needed, and even a private dining space for family visits. There's a lot going on beyond just medical care, too, like reading groups, a life-enrichment program, outings on a bus, weekly religious services, and simple pleasures like the beauty parlor and barbershop where residents can feel good about themselves. For those who need more advanced care, Adams Lane offers Alzheimer's and dementia support in a special neighborhood called Blue Sky Living Community, skilled nursing for people who need medication management or specialized procedures, hospice care and respite stays, and they do post-cardiac care, even working with the Veteran's Hospital in Columbus to support veterans. Residents get rides to their medical appointments and there's a strong 24-hour safety system, plus the doors are always open so families can visit any time, and family can rest easier knowing care is available around the clock. The place is run by Certus Healthcare, so the policies and care match what you'd expect from an established provider, and Adams Lane is just one of several locations across Ohio, with each site keeping a focus on independence when possible but also on comprehensive support for changing health needs. Right now, Adams Lane isn't taking new patients and asks people to call ahead about the next opening; they keep most of their office information private but respond to inquiries. So, for folks who want to stay active, need rehab, or require memory care or skilled nursing in Zanesville, Adams Lane Healthcare & Rehabilitation covers many of those bases while giving residents and families a sense of comfort and support.
