    Warm caring affordable assisted living

I placed my dad here and I'm very pleased - warm, family-like atmosphere with caring, knowledgeable staff who made the move smooth. Owners Daniel and Maggie (and director Daniel) were hands-on and Maria and the caregiving team went above and beyond; medication, safety, and communication were dependable. Three good meals a day, weekly housekeeping, clean rooms and grounds, nice one-bedroom, activities and transportation when needed. Affordable, compassionate, and professional - grateful for the support and I recommend this community.

    Summary of reviews

Grace Manor presents as a small, family-owned senior living community with a clear emphasis on personalized, safety-focused care. Many accounts describe engaged on-site ownership and long-tenured caregiving staff who provide attentive medication administration, individualized support, and a family-like atmosphere. The facility is often praised for its fresh, healthy meals (including a salad bar and three daily meals), weekly housekeeping, included utilities, and transportation services. Outdoor amenities — such as gardens, patios, gazebos and a courtyard — are consistently noted as well-kept and useful for resident socialization.

Care and staffing are among the facility's strongest attributes for many families: compassionate caregivers, accessible staff, and programming that supports memory-care and end-of-life needs are highlighted. At the same time, reviews describe operational concerns that prospective residents should evaluate. These include variable staffing levels and training, instances suggesting lapses in following care plans and responsiveness, and isolated but serious allegations (including property-handling issues). There is also mention of past regulatory and licensing citations; prospective families should verify current compliance and any corrective actions taken.

Dining and activities receive mostly positive remarks: many residents and families praise the quality and variety of food and an active schedule that includes art classes, music, movie afternoons, exercise and social meals. However, some accounts describe occasional bland or low-budget menu items and service interruptions (notably during COVID-related operational changes). The community's small size produces an intimate activity program, but indoor communal space is limited compared with larger facilities.

The physical plant is a mix of recent updates and older infrastructure. Grounds and certain common areas have seen remodels and are attractive, while some apartments and interior corridors are described as dated, smaller, and darker. Unit sizes are generally compact; in-room amenities are modest, so families may wish to confirm specific layout and storage needs. Housekeeping is usually cited as a positive, but there are also references to inconsistent sanitation standards in some accounts.

Management impressions are mixed: many reviewers commend accessible, hands-on owners and an administrative team that facilitates smooth move-ins and transitions. A smaller subset of accounts describes problematic communication or unprofessional conduct from administrators. Given the combination of strong caregiving reports and isolated but serious operational concerns, prospective residents should tour the community, observe staff–resident interactions, review staffing ratios and training protocols, ask about recent regulatory history and corrective actions, inquire about sanitation and security protocols (including controls for resident property), and confirm insurance/Medicaid participation if relevant.

    About Grace Manor Senior Living

Grace Manor Senior Living sits in a quiet spot in Eugene, Oregon, where folks can live with some peace and quiet, and the community tries to keep things friendly and welcoming, though the hallways sometimes have an unpleasant odor, including urine, and the studio rooms feel a bit dated and old-fashioned. The place has 51 beds and offers both independent and assisted living options, so seniors can pick what fits them best. Residents can live in apartments or homes and take part in many social and recreational activities, with floor plans that make getting around easier, and rooms that let in plenty of light and feel roomy enough. The dining area serves three meals every day with breakfast and lunch service, including takeout and room service when someone prefers to eat in their room, and there's a Beauty and Barber Shop open three days a week for haircuts and other services. Folks get to stay busy with activities like Wii gaming, Bingo, Writers and Philosophy Groups, a Book Club, spiritual events, game and movie nights, and knitting circles, and those who like gardening can join the Garden Club to care for their own garden plots each spring, growing flowers, herbs, or vegetables, while outside, there's a lovely yard with sunny and shady spots to rest or visit together. A Resident Services Coordinator helps with outside service needs and health talks, and weekly Strength and Balance classes plus Tai Chi from outside instructors keep everyone moving, while wellness and hospitality programs aim to keep spirits up and support individual health. Housekeeping, dining, and laundry are included, and there's transportation to places like nearby attractions, shopping, or restaurants for anyone who asks, and the staff tries to be attentive and help with whatever residents need. The place uses a few unique names for their services and spaces, and the community calls itself "A Community with Heart," focusing on caring for seniors and helping people age as well as they can in Eugene. Covid-19 protocols are part of the routine now, and the staff tries to take care of both practical and social needs, making sure folks have access to help, food, beauty services, and activities, though some areas might need a little attention. The peaceful setting, range of services, and independent or assisted care options make Grace Manor Senior Living a straightforward choice for retirement living, with age-friendly features and plenty to do if someone wants to keep active or find new interests.
