    About Ligonier Gardens

Ligonier Gardens, often called "The Gardens," sits in a quiet spot along the Loyalhanna Creek in Ligonier, Pennsylvania, and has space for about 71 residents, though it often feels much bigger with all that's going on and the many areas to gather. This senior living community is part of the Bethlen Communities, which is known for being faith-based and focused on offering care that respects each person's independence. The Gardens offers many housing choices, including independent living, senior apartments, and one-level cottages alongside assisted living, memory care, nursing home, and respite care for short stays, and there are private or semi-private suites that you can decorate just how you like, plus several common areas like cozy lounges and an arts room, a movie theater, a game room, a small library, and a sun room that's nice for relaxing. There are outdoor gardens and patios so residents can enjoy fresh air, and the grounds stay well-kept.

Staff are always present to offer 24-hour nursing and supervision, and there's a call system and emergency alert service, so help is always nearby. Residents can get help with daily tasks like bathing, dressing, and moving between bed and chair, and care teams can give injections, manage diabetes or incontinence needs, handle medications, and support people with Parkinson's, mild cognitive impairment, or dementia. Ligonier Gardens provides both physical, occupational, and speech therapies right on site, and therapy staff work with nurses, social workers, dietitians, and spiritual care professionals to help everyone maintain comfort and health. There's a strong support system for both residents and caregivers, with home care available for those who want to stay at home, non-medical help, and transportation for doctor visits provided or arranged through the community.

Activities are varied and run all week, with things like trivia, resident-run clubs, Wii bowling, wine tasting, yoga or chair yoga, planned day trips, arts classes, and devotional services both on and off-site. Bethesda Wellness Center next door has exercise equipment and organized group fitness classes, so those who want to keep moving have lots of support. Dining happens in a restaurant-style dining room where two meals a day are served, and the kitchen handles special diets. Housekeeping and laundry keep things tidy, and meal services cut down on groceries and cooking. Residents also have access to internet plans, technology help, special phones for seniors, and even a list of up-to-date hearing aid guides and reviews to help with hearing needs.

Security and safety are a priority, with home security, medication dispensers, and ID theft protection available. Social and spiritual needs are met with group gatherings, library programs, continuing learning options, a beauty shop, and scheduled devotional times for those who wish to join. Short-term rehabilitation, pain and wound care, intravenous therapy, and hospice are also available as part of the broad medical offering. Flexible rates and help with admissions paperwork simplify moving in or changing levels of care.

The Gardens puts an emphasis on each person having freedom of choice, privacy, and encouragement so they can stay independent as long as possible. Staff work to create a welcoming place where people feel heard and valued, all while keeping their lives running smoothly and safely. Gardens' location by the creek and near town gives it a peaceful feel and a sense of community, which matters a lot to folks who want a comfortable setting with care options that can change as their needs change.
