    Attentive, professional care; highly recommend

I placed my husband here and I'm very pleased - the staff are professional, kind, and attentive, leadership and communication have noticeably improved, and social workers and nurses are knowledgeable and caring. Meals are good, meds and therapy are well managed, the building is clean and welcoming with roomy apartments and mobility accommodations, and I feel confident my loved one is well cared for and would recommend this community.

    Summary of reviews

The reviews portray a facility with a mixture of notable strengths and recurring operational concerns. Positive experiences frequently highlight compassionate nurses, personable front-desk staff, and effective therapists; several commenters emphasized the facility's affordability, large room sizes, and accessible layout including first-floor mobility accommodations and a pleasant porch area. On the activity and social side, residents have access to basic programming (puzzles, books, cards) and families sometimes found staff communicative and responsive, with particular staff members singled out for timely communication and professionalism.

Clinical-care impressions are mixed. Reviewers praised individual RNs, nurse practitioners, and therapists for compassionate care and competent rehabilitation services, but also described systemic issues related to timeliness and consistency of care. Recurrent themes include medication-management lapses (errors in administration, delays, and handling inconsistencies), delays in responding to call bells and care requests, and incontinence-care delays. Several comments describe concerns about clinical assessment and escalation, including delayed transfers or late recognition of acute issues; these patterns suggest gaps in clinical oversight and response protocols.

Staffing and staff conduct appear uneven. Many reviews reference staffing shortages and workload strain on nurses and aides, which families connect to slower response times and inconsistent attention. While some staff are described as friendly, informative, and attentive, other reports point to unprofessional or dismissive interactions, long phone wait times, and aides not consistently providing expected assistance. This variability in staff behavior and availability is a recurring operational concern.

Dining and activities present a mixed picture. Some reviewers praised the food and noted reliable meal service (including replacement meals when needed), while others reported inconsistent food quality, insufficient portions, and limited beverage offerings. Activity options exist and are appreciated by residents who engage, but comments indicate inconsistent implementation and limited variety for residents seeking more robust programming.

Facility environment and maintenance are key areas of concern. Multiple comments cite cleanliness problems in resident rooms, common areas, and equipment, as well as odor issues in circulation areas; there are also mentions of pest-control concerns and housekeeping gaps. Security and access-control inconsistencies (for example, unclear locking or visitation practices) and maintenance shortcomings were also reported. These facility-level issues, combined with the clinical and staffing concerns, have led some families to request outside oversight and to move residents to alternative facilities.

Management and communication show variability. Positive notes include helpful administrative staff and occasional timely communication, but many families describe poor follow-through, dismissive responses to serious complaints, and inadequate discharge coordination. A small number of commenters referenced serious incidents that prompted calls for formal inspection or Ombudsman involvement; these have contributed to heightened family vigilance and recommendations to personally visit before placement. In sum, prospective residents and families should weigh the facility's compassionate individual caregivers and accessibility features against recurring operational issues in cleanliness, staffing, medication processes, responsiveness, and management communication when making placement decisions.
