My mom is safe and happy at Arrowood - her apartment is spacious, lovely and spotlessly clean, and they provide shower/assistance as needed. Staff are friendly, 24-hour medical support gives us peace of mind, management changes have improved care and cleanliness, and it's excellent value; I highly recommend this location.

Summary of reviews
Feedback about care and staff is mixed. One family described staff as friendly, attentive to residents, and focused on their needs, while another reported that bathing required family follow-up and that the community struggled to retain staff. A separate family raised concerns about whether the community’s certification matched their loved one’s needs; the resident was asked to move after a week. Another reviewer described improvements in care after a management change. One family also reported 24-hour medical assistance and said their loved one was safe and happy.
Dining is the clearest recurring concern. One resident’s family said food quality had declined since the start of the COVID period, and other families reported dissatisfaction with the meals and food-service company. A reviewer who had experienced better food earlier described the later quality as a decline, suggesting that dining may be less consistent than other aspects of the community.
Facilities are generally described positively. Reviewers cited cleanliness, pleasant and spacious apartments, and good value for the cost. The community’s location was also a factor in one family’s decision. Management feedback is limited, but one reviewer credited a change in management with improvements in care and cleanliness.
The reviews provide no specific information about activities or the variety of programming, so those areas cannot be assessed from this feedback. Overall, the community’s reported strengths are its setting, apartment space, value, and staff friendliness, while meal quality, staffing consistency, personal-care follow-through, and admission-care alignment warrant further questions during a visit.

About The Residence at Arrowood
The Residence at Arrowood sits in West Mifflin, Pennsylvania and offers a range of senior living options, including short-term rehabilitation, long-term care, independent living, assisted living, and memory care for those with Alzheimer's or other forms of dementia, and you'll find 24/7 skilled nursing care if extra help is needed. Residents get personalized, holistic care from a dedicated team, and the place focuses on making sure everyone feels comfortable and safe, with trained staff always around to help with things like bathing, dressing, medication, and other daily tasks. Housing choices include single rooms, studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments, with kitchenettes in each room, and there are semi-private and private options for comfort and privacy. Folks who live there have access to plenty of amenities-there's a game room, library, wellness spa, fitness center, and daily activities, plus both indoor and outdoor common areas where everyone can relax or socialize, and the community schedules movie nights and other events to keep things lively and promote friendships. The Residence at Arrowood encourages social fun and connections through activity-based services, group games, and community events, and pets are welcome for those who want to bring a companion along. Meals come from a professional culinary team that prepares balanced food to fit different dietary needs, and residents can enjoy community dining or eat in the privacy of their own room. There's reliable housekeeping, laundry, and dry-cleaning, so chores don't get in the way, and the community provides free transportation for appointments or outings. Staff are careful with healthcare, offering support like diabetic and incontinence care, medication management, and non-ambulatory care, and they've set up programs like RecoverWell, RestWell, and SleepWell for folks who need focused rehabilitation, rest, or just a good night's sleep. The building has Wi-Fi, is handicap accessible, and welcomes visits from friends and family members who can join meals or activities. There's always a focus on safety, comfort, and supporting independence, and the staff aim to help everyone live with dignity, stay active, and feel part of a warm community.
