    Impressive attentive care and rehabilitation

I'm very pleased with my experience: the staff were personable and awesome, and the nurses and doctor were remarkably knowledgeable and thorough-ordering tests, addressing my concerns, and providing effective pain relief and successful rehabilitation. The office was clean with solid COVID protections, I was taken right in, and I'm grateful for the impressive, attentive care.

    Summary of reviews

Care quality and clinical operations: Reviews emphasize timely access and a clinically thorough approach. Patients describe being taken in promptly, with physicians who conducted detailed questioning and ordered appropriate tests. Several accounts highlight effective pain relief and satisfactory diagnoses, and there are comments indicating successful short-term rehabilitation. These patterns suggest reliably responsive outpatient or short-stay clinical care and an emphasis on diagnostic thoroughness.

Staff and interpersonal conduct: Feedback strongly favors the facilityโ€™s care team. Nursing staff are characterized as compassionate and friendly, and physicians are described as knowledgeable and personable. Frontline staff are noted as attentive and engaging, contributing to positive patient experiences and expressions of gratitude. This suggests a workforce with strengths in communication, bedside manner, and patient-centered interaction.

Facilities and infection control: Reviewers specifically cite a clean office environment and visible COVID-19 precautions. Those points align with a facility that maintains basic sanitation standards and follows contemporary infection-control practices for clinical spaces. The available comments focus on the clinical setting rather than long-term residential units, so facility observations are primarily about outpatient or therapy areas.

Dining, activities, and residential services: Review summaries do not provide substantive information about dining, recreational programming, long-term activity schedules, or communal living amenities. The absence of commentary on these domains limits the ability to evaluate day-to-day residential life, meal quality, and engagement programming. Prospective residents and families should request current menus, sample activity calendars, and opportunities to observe programs when assessing suitability.

Management, operations, and notable patterns: Reviewers consistently highlight responsive intake, clear clinical decision-making, and strong staffโ€“patient rapport. There is also a recurring contrast to prior negative care experiences elsewhere, indicating that this facilityโ€™s clinical interactions are perceived as an improvement by some visitors. Because the feedback is concentrated on clinical visits and short-term rehabilitation, there is limited publicly available evidence about staffing continuity, medication-management policies, or long-term care operations. Those are important operational areas to verify directly with facility management during a tour or intake conversation.

Recommendation: Based on the available comments, the facility appears to perform well for outpatient clinical care, pain management, and short-term rehabilitation, supported by a communicative care team and clean clinical spaces. For a comprehensive decision about residential placement, further inquiry into dining services, activity programming, long-term staffing levels, medication administration policies, and family communication practices is advised.

    About Philip Health Services

Philip Health Services gives a wide range of healthcare and senior services across several towns, so you'll find them in places like Rapid City, Hot Springs, Mitchell, and some locations in Wyoming, North Dakota, and Nebraska, which is handy for people who live in different areas around there, and they work around the clock, so you can get help any time, day or night. The care campus includes a trauma-receiving emergency room, a critical access hospital, nursing home care through Philip Nursing Home, and assisted living at Silverleaf Assisted Living Center and Scotchman Living Center, all of this helps older adults and people with disabilities get care for physical, emotional, and even spiritual needs in one place. There's the Hans P. Peterson Memorial Hospital linked to it too, plus clinics like Philip Clinic and Kadoka Clinic, so you don't have to go far for regular checkups or urgent care, and if you need a swing bed, they've got skilled swing beds for recovery in between hospital and home.

They've got all sorts of medical care, from regular doctor visits to orthopedic urgent care and physical therapy, and there's a special Spine Center for folks with back and neck problems, which ties in with Black Hills Orthopedic & Spine Center and several physical therapy providers like ProMotion and Black Hills Surgical Hospital Physical Therapy. Dr. Clark Duchene is the orthopedic specialist who's part of their team, and they offer detailed resources on things like joint replacement, sports medicine, and caring for your hands, feet, or spine, so you can learn how to manage your own health better. There are lab and imaging services right there, which makes getting tests quicker, plus you can talk to visiting medical specialists if you need care outside what your usual doctor does.

Philip Health Services' main office is in Rapid City, but they've built a network all the way out to towns such as Gillette, Sheridan, Buffalo, Newcastle, Chadron, Dickinson, and Williston, so people in those nearby places don't have to travel far. You can ask questions or get prescription refills, use their online patient portal, and even request appointments over the internet, which is nice if getting out of the house is tough some days. For folks needing a different kind of help at home, there are home health services, so you can get skilled nursing, help with bathing, homemaking, or shopping stress-free.

On top of all the needful health services, they've thought about comfort and daily life a bit, since there are things like a golf course, movie theatre, fitness center, coffee shop, and pool around the campus, which can make living there or visiting feel a bit more relaxed and social. They also run the Bennett County Dental Clinic, so if someone needs to see a dentist, that's part of what they do, and every kind of care, from the hospital and clinics to assisted living centers and home health, is set up to work together so your care doesn't get confusing or scattered.
