    Clean, affordable, convenient, well-maintained community

I'm impressed with Westview Towers - clean, well-maintained and budget-friendly. Maintenance is always working, common areas are spacious with a large gathering room, craft room, bingo, vending machines and good TVs. Weekday medical staff are available, resident floor advisers help on weekends, and the location near the mall, grocery and a bus stop is very convenient. Affordable and a solid setup for those on the waiting list.

    Summary of reviews

Overall sentiment across the reviews is cautiously positive about Westview Towers’ value proposition and physical upkeep, paired with consistent concerns about staffing, complaint handling, and limited housing options. Reviewers repeatedly emphasize affordability and an environment that is clean and well-maintained, and several point to active maintenance personnel and visible cleanliness as strengths. The complex appears to offer a range of social activities and communal amenities that contribute to resident life, while its location and transit access are noted as convenient.

Facilities and activities: Multiple reviews praise the physical facilities—clean common areas, a craft room, bingo and other activities, a large gathering room, vending machines, and a good TV in communal spaces. These elements suggest a community-oriented environment with organized activities that help keep residents engaged. The presence of an active maintenance crew was specifically mentioned, supporting the impression that the building is kept in good repair. Reviewers described the setup as "good" and repeatedly characterize the overall offering as appropriate for the price paid.

Care quality and staffing: A clear pattern emerges around staffing strengths and limitations. There is weekday medical staff available, which reviewers view positively; however, there is a notable lack of dedicated medical personnel on weekends. To partially fill that gap, resident floor advisers are present on weekends, but this is a different model of support and does not substitute for trained medical staff. This weekend staffing gap is one of the more important practical concerns, especially for prospective residents who require consistent clinical oversight. Several reviews flagged the absence of weekend medical coverage as a drawback.

Management, communication, and complaints: Management responsiveness and complaint resolution are recurring negative themes. Reviewers report slow complaint resolution and instances where complaints were ignored, with at least one report stating the issue led to a resident moving out. Long waits at the front desk were also mentioned, signaling friction in day-to-day communications with staff. These points paint a picture of administrative friction: operations and maintenance of the physical plant are handled well, but communication and timely problem solving by management appear inconsistent.

Housing options and availability: Multiple reviewers expressed disappointment about housing availability and unit variety. The facility seems to offer a limited range of floorplans (primarily one-bedroom and efficiency units), and several prospective residents either were disappointed they couldn't see an apartment or are on a waiting list. The limited unit types and the existence of a waiting list suggest constrained availability, which can be an important factor for people with specific space or accessibility needs.

Community dynamics and safety: Some reviews raised concerns about interactions between residents. While the community offers many activities and social spaces, these reports indicate occasional interpersonal issues or conflicts that prospective residents should be aware of. The presence of resident floor advisers on weekends provides peer-level support and oversight, but this arrangement may not be sufficient for medical or serious behavioral concerns.

Location and transportation: The facility’s location is repeatedly cited as a positive: close to a mall and grocery stores, with a bus stop right outside the building. This makes Westview Towers convenient for errands, shopping, and public transit-dependent residents.

What this means for prospective residents: Westview Towers is best suited to people looking for an affordable, clean, and socially active living environment with decent weekday clinical coverage and good local amenities. Prospective residents who need medical supervision on weekends, a wider variety of apartment layouts, or highly responsive administrative support should investigate further or consider alternatives. Before committing, visitors should confirm weekend medical coverage expectations, request a full tour of available apartment types (or get on the waiting list early), and ask how specific complaints or maintenance requests are handled and tracked.

In summary, the reviews present a facility with clear strengths in cost, upkeep, activities, and location, but with notable weaknesses in weekend medical staffing, complaint responsiveness, resident interactions, and limited unit availability. These patterns are consistent across the summaries and should guide prospective residents’ questions and priorities when evaluating Westview Towers.

    About Westview Towers

Westview Towers sits at 7823 Gleason Drive in the Northshore area of Knoxville, and the place has a long history since it was built in 1975, offering a safe and affordable apartment complex for people 62 years and older, as well as for adults 18 and over who are disabled or handicapped, and you'll find there are 240 units in total with a mix of efficiency studios and one-bedroom floor plans, from about 433 to 529 square feet, and even though the apartments are older, many have recent renovations with features expected for modern living, like sleek finishes you can wipe clean easily. Folks who live there get plenty of parking spaces, secure building entry, and several washers and dryers on-site so laundry doesn't require a drive or trip outside. There's on-site management and a maintenance team that responds to problems pretty quickly when something breaks or you need help, and it gives residents some comfort, especially if someone needs a hand or just reassurance. The community spaces, such as lounges, activity rooms, and a dining area, allow everyone a place to relax or gather, and there are organized social events, entertainment, fitness activities in the small gym, and regular get-togethers, which can keep residents from feeling lonely or cooped up. Some apartments and community features are accessible for people with disabilities, which is helpful, and the whole property is non-smoking, so you won't be dealing with smells or smoke drifting around. Pets are allowed so long as folks follow the property rules, which lets people keep company if they like. Residents on limited incomes can qualify for income-based rent thanks to the Section 8 and Low-Income Housing Tax Credit programs, and there's a 12-month lease term that keeps things steady and reliable. The complex also provides a resident service coordinator, someone whose job is to help with daily needs or connect folks to services, and there's a small beauty salon on site, which can be helpful for those who don't want the trouble of leaving for a haircut. Outdoor areas give residents a place for some sun or fresh air, and family or friends can join at meal times in the dining area. The age-restricted policy keeps the community focused on older adults, so it remains a quieter and more comfortable place for seniors who need affordable, independent housing while wanting a bit of help and social life without constant supervision. All the basics like laundry, parking, and safety are in place, and you can get details about utilities and amenities through property reports if you want to know the fine print.
