    Compassionate team, clean facility, recommended

I'm overall very pleased with the care my mother receives - LaWanda and her team are compassionate, responsive, and the administrator makes us feel important. The facility is clean, well-run and conveniently located, with good meals, a friendly staff that has become like family, and lovely amenities (bistro, theater, salon, outdoor spaces). I'm grateful for the help with hospital/hospice transitions and would happily recommend this as a place to call home.

    Summary of reviews

Keestone at Hewitt House presents a facility with many tangible strengths alongside several operational inconsistencies that prospective residents and families should evaluate. Physical environment and amenities are frequently praised: reviewers describe a clean, well‑kept facility with spacious rooms and large bathrooms, accessible layouts geared toward older adults, and attractive communal spaces such as a movie theater, coffee bar/bistro, salon, exercise area, outdoor decks and fireplaces. The property’s in-town location and inclusion of cable/entertainment are additional conveniences noted by families.

Care and staffing elicit mixed but clear patterns. Many families and residents emphasize compassionate, knowledgeable staff and an engaged administration — specific praise is given to staff who go beyond expectations, directors who respond, and coordination for hospital transitions and hospice care. At the same time, there are recurrent concerns about inconsistent staffing levels and limited nursing availability, which translate into perceptions of insufficient coverage at times. Reviewers also raised issues about staff conduct and communication tone in isolated instances and described occasions when phone responsiveness and follow-up to families were inadequate. These contrasting impressions suggest generally strong caregiver relationships for many residents, with variability in reliability and communication under staffing pressure.

Dining and activities are strengths for many residents but show variability. The facility offers multiple dining options, meal choices, and a bistro with healthy snacks; several reviewers described meals positively and a pleasant dining environment. Others noted inconsistent food quality or that activity programs were not always followed through as scheduled. Overall the activity slate is broad — arts and crafts, card games, exercise programs, movie showings, church services, and family dinners — and contributes to a social environment where residents can make friends and participate regularly, especially when programming is delivered consistently.

Management and policy areas merit specific questions during a tour. Many reviewers commend a responsive administrator and staff who facilitate family involvement, but there are also comments about promises not being kept, opaque transition or discharge practices, and inconsistent handling of complaints. A few more serious operational issues were raised (pest-control concerns and gaps in response to falls and call systems); while these appear to be limited in frequency, they are important to verify directly with management and to confirm corrective actions, inspection records, and current staffing ratios. Cost and value considerations were noted by some residents who felt rooms were small for the price, so comparative pricing and contract terms should be reviewed.

Recommendations for prospective residents and families: confirm current staffing levels and on-call clinical coverage, ask for documentation of pest-control and sanitation practices, review fall-response protocols and call‑bell reliability, observe mealtimes and activity delivery during a visit, and request clarity on discharge/eviction policies and any guarantees about services. Overall, Hewitt House offers strong amenities, a supportive community for many residents, and generally positive care experiences, balanced by operational variability that is worth clarifying before a move-in decision.

    About Keestone at Hewitt House

Keestone at Hewitt House sits in historic Pulaski, TN, and for over 30 years has been a place where folks can find a range of living options, so if you're looking for independent or assisted living, memory care, home care, active adult living, adult day services, home health care that's Medicare-certified, long-term skilled nursing, or hospice care, this community covers it all, so seniors can age in place with some comfort and support as their needs change, and they offer personal and non-medical care from trained staff who are known to be friendly and helpful, keeping a warm and welcoming feel throughout the place. Residents can choose from a variety of studio rooms, including some with kitchenettes, wheelchair accessible showers, ground floor units, and air conditioning, and they've got both private and semi-private options, plus they let some folks keep pets.

The staff help with daily needs like medication, bathing, dressing, errands, shopping, and there's always someone around to help with housekeeping, laundry, meal service, and they handle linens too, so routines stay pretty stress-free, and a nurse comes in part-time for health needs. There are three meals a day prepared by trained chefs, with special diets like low-sugar and low-sodium if that's needed, and guests can join meals sometimes too, plus there's a café/bistro, a community dining room, and fireplaces in some common areas where folks can gather.

You've got plenty of ways to spend time, as Keestone at Hewitt House arranges social, educational, spiritual, and entertaining activities with both onsite options like movies, music at the piano or organ, exercise and wellness classes, and offsite trips too, making it easier to stay active, engaged, and connected. There are pretty outdoor patios and gardens, a recreation room, media room, salon for haircuts, a beauty shop, and religious devotional services both in-house and out, so people find plenty to do without having to leave the grounds, and if outings are needed, free transportation is provided.

The community also handles errands and offers concierge services, including dry-cleaning, grocery shopping, and quick-response maintenance, which takes a good bit of the trouble out of day-to-day living, and for internet or cable, they've got free Wi-Fi and parking so everyone can stay in touch and friends and family can visit easily.

Keestone at Hewitt House has a state license (ACL0000000108) and is rated the second highest community in Pulaski, with people giving it an average rating of 8 out of 10, pointing out the good food, helpful care, friendly atmosphere, and the range of activities. The home care program lets trained aides help seniors in their own homes if that's needed, offering companionship or support for daily life, while the memory care program is set up to help those living with Alzheimer's or dementia, focusing on keeping them safe and comfortable. The skilled nursing and hospice care are also on-site, so seriously ill or frail residents don't have to move late in life.

You don't get empty promises about luxury, but the amenities are solid - things like community dining, fitness programs, entertainment venues, salon and barber services, garden spaces, some pet options, and high-speed internet, and the little daily needs like laundry, cleaning, and food preparation are handled, aiming to keep life running smoothly for everyone who calls Keestone at Hewitt House home.
