    Warm attentive staff homey rooms

I chose this small, recently renovated community for my mom and I'm very satisfied - the staff are warm, attentive, and genuinely caring, the personalized, high-quality care and nutritious meals keep her engaged, and the clean, open, homey rooms plus regular activities make it feel like family at a very reasonable price. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a welcoming, well-kept place for a loved one.

    Summary of reviews

The reviews present a polarized picture of Country Care. A substantial portion of reviewers describe a warm, small-community environment where residents receive personalized attention. Positive themes include a home-like, cozy atmosphere, compassionate and attentive caregivers, and an environment that feels welcoming to families and grandchildren. Many accounts highlight active programming — holiday celebrations and family events — and regular activities that contribute to social engagement. Several reviewers also note recent renovations and open, airy living spaces, along with generally clean common areas and affordable pricing that families found attractive.

Care and staffing are recurring strengths for many families: individualized plans, staff who go beyond baseline responsibilities, and a sense that residents feel content or well looked after. At the same time, other reviewers raised substantive operational concerns. The most prominent negative themes relate to leadership and clinical oversight: descriptions of inconsistent managerial follow-through, questions about administrator credentials, and perceived gaps in staff training. These concerns extend to medication practices and clinical controls; multiple reviewers characterized medication-administration and supervision as an area needing verification and improvement.

Dining and facilities also show mixed signals. While several reviewers praised nutritious meals and enjoyable dining, others described inconsistent food quality and an emphasis on processed or boxed items. Facility appearance is often cited positively after renovations, but some reviews describe delayed maintenance and repairs that affect comfort and perceived safety. Communication and staff conduct are generally described as compassionate by many families, yet some accounts report staff who are unapproachable or whose tone and responsiveness raised concerns.

Taken together, Country Care appears to offer a genuinely home-like, affordable option with active programming and many satisfied families. However, the pattern of criticisms—centered on leadership transparency, staff training/credentialing, medication-management processes, and maintenance responsiveness—warrants attention from prospective residents and their families. When evaluating this facility, consider targeted questions about clinical oversight (medication protocols and training records), staffing levels and turnover, recent inspection results, meal sourcing and menus, and the process for reporting and resolving maintenance or care concerns. A thorough tour that includes observing mealtime, activity programming, and staff–resident interactions, plus direct conversations with leadership about credentials and policies, will help clarify whether the facility’s strengths align with your expectations and risk tolerance.

    About Country Care

Country Care Assisted Living is a well-established and trusted name in assisted living, serving residents since 1998. Over the years, the community has developed a strong reputation for providing high-quality, compassionate care that fosters a deep connection not only with each resident, but also their families and the broader community. The small, intimate nature of Country Care sets it apart from larger facilities, creating an environment that truly feels like home. Every resident is treated like family, and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming, encouraging social interaction, involvement, and comfort.

The facility is managed and co-owned by Greg Barlow, who has maintained a personal connection with every resident since the inception of Country Care. This hands-on approach by ownership ensures that all residents receive attentive, personalized care tailored to their individual needs and preferences. The management team is involved in the day-to-day life of the facility, providing a level of commitment and familiarity that is rare in assisted living. The staff is always responsive to special requests, whether it is delivering meals to resident rooms, running errands like picking up groceries, or arranging transportation to doctor appointments. Care plans are developed in close collaboration with family members, who are encouraged to visit often and remain actively involved in their loved one’s lives.

Country Care’s all-inclusive monthly fee covers all services, eliminating hidden charges and providing peace of mind for residents and their families. Socialization and enrichment are important aspects of life at Country Care. Residents participate in games, outings, recreational activities, and a variety of special events throughout the year, including highly anticipated celebrations like the annual Easter egg hunt and Halloween party. These events are designed to foster joy, community spirit, and lasting memories for both residents and their loved ones.

Located in a quiet, residential neighborhood in west Farmington, Country Care sits on a beautifully landscaped acre, offering a serene and homelike setting. The facility is composed of two single-story buildings, each accommodating 16 residents. A major remodel in 2021 has enhanced the comforts of home, with upgraded kitchens, dining rooms, family rooms, and each private bedroom featuring a small kitchenette and a full bathroom. Residents can enjoy indoor-outdoor living with access to a peaceful sunroom or covered patio, making it easy to spend time outside in comfort throughout the year.

At Country Care, the mission is grounded in values of respect, warmth, and genuine concern for the well-being of every individual who calls it home. The close-knit size of the community ensures that residents receive attentive, individualized care and are able to pursue their own preferences and routines. Family involvement and personal connections are highly valued, and every effort is made to ensure that residents feel secure, valued, and at home in every aspect of their daily life.
