    Warm, attentive staff and amenities

I moved my mom into this bright, home-like facility and have been very impressed. The staff (Jordan, Misty, Roz and others) are warm, responsive and skilled - nurses five days a week, monthly doctor visits, strong memory-care support - and residents are well cared for. The small, spotless community is pet-friendly with lovely amenities (fireplace, piano, salon, fitness), great food, frequent activities and outings, and a real sense of family. It is about $1,000/month pricier than some places, but the personalized care and peace of mind make it better value for us. Highly recommend.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the reviews is strongly positive. Reviewers repeatedly praise the staff, cleanliness and the home-like design of Our House Assisted Living of Ogden. Many reviewers describe the community as bright, cheerful and welcoming; they emphasize that staff members are kind, personable and build genuine relationships with residents. Multiple caregivers and administrators are singled out by name for exceptional service, and reviewers commonly report that their loved ones are well cared for, comfortable and flourishing in the community.

Care quality is a major strength mentioned throughout the reviews. Families highlight personalized, attentive caregiving and hands-on nursing presence — including a nurse on site five days a week and regular monthly doctor visits — as reassuring features. Several reviewers point to strong clinical support such as effective stroke care, memory care capability (a new memory care unit/lockdown area), and compassionate end-of-life or hospice support. CNAs and caregivers receive frequent praise for kindness, patience and competence; reviewers recount staff going above and beyond for resident comfort and dignity.

The facility and physical environment receive consistent compliments. Reviewers describe a brand-new, well-maintained building with high ceilings, a spacious and airy feel, large rooms, roomy closets, personal HVAC thermostats and thoughtful apartment layouts. Common areas such as a beautiful grand room with a piano, fireplace, comfortable seating and an immaculate kitchen contribute to the home-like atmosphere. Cleanliness and smell are repeatedly noted as very positive. The smaller size (about 40 residents) is framed as a benefit by many reviewers who appreciate the cozier, family-style environment and individualized attention.

Dining is frequently characterized as excellent — several reviewers call it five-star dining — with customizable meals, a salad bar, regular appealing options and chefs who are responsive to preferences. Many residents and families appreciate being invited to dine with their loved ones. A few reviewers mention that some people were not fond of particular meals, but these comments are relatively uncommon compared with the large number of positive dining remarks.

Activities and social life are well-developed and frequently praised. The community offers a broad calendar of events: live music and concerts, parties, outings (Walmart, restaurants, countryside drives), fitness and salon services, snack bars, seasonal events for families and children, and volunteer/charity engagement. Reviewers report a lively, social atmosphere where residents help one another, form friendships and enjoy frequent entertainment. Transportation for shopping and medical appointments is available and appreciated.

Management and responsiveness show up as another consistent theme. Multiple reviews mention engaged, hands-on administration and staff who respond quickly to needs and solve problems; staff and leadership are described as compassionate, hardworking and creative. Several staff members and leaders are named positively (for example, Jordan, Roz, Misty, Cami, Jordan Heiner and Tayten), which suggests visible, personal leadership. The community also demonstrates civic and family-oriented involvement, such as fundraisers and events that include children.

Notable concerns are relatively limited but worth attention. Cost is the most-cited negative: some reviewers perceive the monthly rate as a premium relative to other options (one comment explicitly estimated about $1,000 more per month). Conversely a few reviewers felt the pricing represented good value — but the perception of higher cost is recurring. Operational issues mentioned by multiple reviewers include occasional delays or wait times, periodic dissatisfaction with certain meals, and concerns about resident-to-staff ratios (some reviewers asked for more CNAs). Limited visitor parking and occasional confusion about how to find the correct entrance during a tour were also reported.

In summary, the dominant picture is of a newer, very clean and attractive assisted living community with strong, compassionate staff, excellent dining and an active social program. Care quality, individualized attention and management responsiveness are consistent strengths backed by many specific anecdotes. Price sensitivity and a few operational items (staffing ratios, parking, occasional wait times and tour wayfinding) are the main recurring concerns but do not appear to overshadow the overwhelmingly positive experiences reported by most reviewers. Overall, reviewers frequently recommend Our House Assisted Living of Ogden and characterize it as one of the best options in the area for personalized, home-like assisted living.

About Our House Assisted Living of Ogden

Our House Assisted Living of Ogden sits in Ogden, Utah, and offers a mix of assisted living, memory care, nursing home services, independent living, daycare, and respite care, and they've been doing this for over 25 years, which does show a bit of experience, and the building itself holds state license UT-000756 so you know they're legitimate, and they do have owners and Super Caregivers on-site every day to help keep an eye on things and make sure people get the right help, which can mean a lot if you're worried about your loved one. They've set up their community with private studio and one-bedroom apartments, each coming with large closets, private bathrooms, high nine-foot ceilings, individual heating and A/C, and kitchenettes with a sink, fridge, microwave, even nice things like granite countertops and patios in some apartments, and for safety you'll find wireless emergency call systems in every apartment. They also keep things tidy with weekly housekeeping and laundry, and all utilities except phone are covered in the cost, which makes budgeting a bit easier for families.

The staff at Our House speak English, and they handle everything from help with bathing, dressing, and grooming to medication reminders, incontinence care, and assistance with mobility, and if special diets or help eating are needed, they'll work with that too. A nurse is on duty part-time and does regular wellness checks, and there's 24-hour, specially trained staff on-site, which includes knowledgeable Alzheimer's caregivers for those needing memory care, and when needed, there's end-of-life care available. The community handles medication needs, personal care, frequent reminders, and all-day emergency call response, along with recorded monitoring for safety. They do their best to foster both independence and dignity, even for folks whose needs are more demanding or who like things a certain way.

Residents get three home-cooked meals daily, planned by chefs and meal planners, and there's a snack bar evenings, plus residents can always get help to and from meals or activities. Social activities run often, including fitness programs in the gym, a salon for haircuts and grooming, a bistro, a library, and an activity and game room, and people can relax or walk in the landscaped yard or the courtyard, which even has a putting green, fireplace, swing set, and slide, which is nice for visiting family. Amenities aim to make things comfortable and welcoming, with housekeeping, linen and laundry services, assistance with shopping, and general or scheduled transportation for outings or appointments.

Their community is verified, clean, and known locally for friendly, well-trained caregiving staff who are quick to help and often praised for both their care and the good food, and it's locally owned with owners, staff, and team members working together to make it feel like home, with a focus on both safety and comfort, and with a strong family feeling that people talk about. Insurance and VA Aid and Assistance are accepted, there's a low resident-to-staff ratio, and care plans are individualized to meet each resident's personal needs, from medication management to physical or mobility help, along with regular wellness checks and family-focused support. There's also new all-inclusive pricing, which means people know what to expect when it comes time to pay. You can expect a senior living setting that aims to be safe, loving, and friendly, with activities and support to help everyone feel at home, even as people need more help or attention as time goes by.
