    Thorough tour; attentive, caring staff

I toured this nearly-new, six-resident home and was very impressed - the tour was thorough, my questions were answered, and the owners and staff are genuinely caring and experienced. The place is spotless and home-like with a beautiful view and outdoor patio, great location, vans for outings, Hoyer lifts, excellent menu and activities, plus proactive coordination with my husband's doctor and family-friendly visitation/holiday meals. I recommend you tour it if you want respectful, attentive care in a lovely small setting.

    Summary of reviews

The reviews describe a small, residential-style facility with many features that appeal to families seeking a home-like environment: a six-resident footprint, recent/upgraded construction, spotless common areas, appealing views and an outdoor patio, and on-site mobility equipment such as Hoyer lifts. Multiple reviewers praised the dining — citing a liked menu, family meals and holiday meals — and noted available transportation for community outings and organized activities. Several families described caregivers as caring and respectful, and some highlighted active coordination between ownership and primary-care clinicians.

At the same time, reviews indicate operational weaknesses that prospective families should probe. Staffing levels and coverage were a recurrent concern: reviewers described situations with only one caregiver on duty and intermittent absence of supervisory staff. Those patterns appear to contribute to gaps in basic resident monitoring (including hydration and mobility oversight) and to weaknesses in fall-prevention and transfer-safety practices. Reviewers also raised specific concerns about medication management and informed-consent processes; one reviewer filed a formal complaint with Washington State Adult Protective Services citing medication and safety issues following an adverse event that required hospitalization.

Management presence and communication appear mixed. Several families praised the owners as kind and involved, and many reviewers recommended touring the facility because of positive, informative visits. However, other comments indicate inconsistent supervisory oversight and delays in family notification or incident response when clinical issues arose. Cleanliness, the intimate scale, and staff compassion were consistent strengths; operational risks clustered around staffing reliability, clinical monitoring, transfer safety, medication safeguards, and timely family communication.

For families considering this facility, recommended questions include: how staffing ratios are maintained across shifts; specific protocols for transfer safety and fall prevention; medication-administration safeguards and documentation of informed consent; procedures for monitoring hydration and acute clinical changes; and the facility's incident-notification process for families and external providers. A tour and direct discussion of these operational policies will help balance the facility's clear strengths in environment and interpersonal care against the operational gaps highlighted in some reviews.

    About Pearly Jones Home

Pearly Jones Adult Family Home sits quietly as a recently remodeled house with six private bedrooms, all on a wheelchair-accessible floor, and every resident gets a private phone line, wireless Internet, and cable TV if they want it, and you'll find cable connections, too. Each bedroom is private, and staff keep everything clean and safe, with safety features like emergency call systems, a security system, and a fenced outdoor patio, so folks can enjoy the outside air or visit in cozy indoor spaces like the enclosed sunroom, which offers views of Seattle Harbor and Mt. Rainier if you look out on a clear day, and it gets nice light in there. The community provides meals with healthy snacks, and they'll adjust meals to meet special diets, too, and residents can expect laundry, housekeeping, and help with daily chores as part of living there, and there's always help managing medications or getting the right therapies, with physical, occupational, and speech therapy available, and you'll find registered nursing care as well, with an RN keeping an eye on residents regularly. Pearly Jones Home supports those living with dementia, Alzheimer's, stroke care needs, incontinence, and provides respite and hospice care, so family members can feel supported if they need a break or extra help. The caregivers all hold the needed certificates and training, and staff are around 24 hours every day, with care always close by for daily living activities, personal care, and more specialized needs if that time comes.

Recreational activities fill up the days, like group fitness, exercise schedules, music therapy, animal-assisted activities, book room sessions, creative classes, and regular outings for shopping or faith-based visits, and residents can join in planned movie nights, live music, social and educational events, and holiday or birthday celebrations, all with family invited to come or participate if they want. The home atmosphere stays warm and welcoming, and staff focus not only on health but on spirit, adding laughter and pet therapy for bright moments and using music to encourage community and fun. With only six residents, folks get close personal care and a family-like setting, which some people like because it never feels crowded or noisy, and everyone gets a little more attention. Pearly Jones Adult Family Home holds a Washington State license as an Adult Family Home (#752085), and the new owner and staff want everyone to feel respected, safe, and comfortable while living here, always aiming for cleanliness, kindness, and a good place to call home.
