    Compassionate staff and clean home

I had a very positive experience - compassionate, family-like staff (Cameron and Blake stood out) provided attentive, personalized care, excellent homemade meals, and a clean, safe home with a lovely garden and covered patio. My dad was comfortable, well supported, and enjoyed activities and friendly company during his long-term stay; I would recommend this warm, well-run place.

    Summary of reviews

Overall sentiment: The reviews for Cedar Highlands by Belamour Care are strongly positive and consistent. Multiple reviewers emphasize compassionate, attentive staff who create a family-like atmosphere. Praise centers on individualized attention, emotional and medical support, and a sense that staff genuinely care for residents beyond basic responsibilities. Several reviewers explicitly say they would recommend the community and express gratitude for the care provided, including end-of-life and long-term stays.

Care quality and staff: Care is repeatedly described as respectful, attentive, and compassionate. Reviewers name specific caregivers (Cameron and Blake) as examples of staff who went above and beyond. The recurring theme is that residents are treated like family: staff anticipate and accommodate needs, provide one-on-one attention, and address physical, emotional, spiritual, and medical needs. Families report feeling comfortable visiting daily and that loved ones are content and comfortable while in the community. Several accounts cite flexibility and a non–bottom-line approach, indicating staff make individualized decisions to support residents’ well-being.

Facilities and environment: The physical setting is described as warm and home-like. Reviewers note a nice neighborhood, a pleasant garden, and a covered patio that contribute to a safe, welcoming atmosphere. Multiple comments refer to the facility feeling like a loving home rather than an institutional setting, which supports family comfort and resident happiness.

Dining, activities, and daily life: Dining is highlighted as a strength — reviewers mention excellent homemade meals and good company at mealtimes. Activities and engagement receive positive mention as well; the community supports activities tailored to individual residents and fosters a positive, happy environment where staff and owners know residents personally. This contributes to reports of residents having a “great time,” enjoying companionship, and being happy overall.

Management, responsiveness, and limitations: Reviewers describe the team and ownership as persistent, helpful, and willing to work with families. Staff and owners knowing residents personally is cited as a management strength. The primary limitation noted across the summaries is logistical rather than quality-related: at least one family was unable to move a loved one in due to insurance/payment issues and therefore placed their parent elsewhere. Another theme is family concern about moving a person with dementia away from their home — this reflects the emotional difficulty of transitions rather than a critique of the community’s care, but it is a real consideration for families exploring placement.

Patterns and recommendations: The dominant pattern is consistent praise for staff compassion and individualized care, backed by multiple first-hand gratitude statements and recommendations. Reported negatives are limited and specific: an insurance/placement barrier in one case and family hesitancy around relocating dementia patients. For prospective families, the reviews suggest Cedar Highlands is particularly well-suited to those seeking a small, home-like environment with hands-on, personalized care and strong staff-resident relationships. Prospective residents and families should confirm insurance coverage and discuss transition supports for dementia to ensure placement feasibility and ease of move-in.

About Cedar Highlands by Belamour Care

Cedar Highlands by Belamour Care stands out as a senior living community that makes life easier for older adults by offering assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, and independent living, and you'll find the staff have a gentle way of helping people do as much for themselves as they can, and they encourage residents to stay active and connected. People living here have access to wellness programs, regular health check-ups, and medical support like nurses, wound care, and medication help, and there's always someone around since staff are available all day and night. For those who enjoy keeping their minds busy, Cedar Highlands features technology training, puzzles, strategy games, and interactive workshops along with classes and lectures too, and you'll see groups gathering for current events discussions, brain games, and even festive celebrations or group outings. Spiritual well-being finds attention through group prayer, spiritual workshops, meditation rooms, and even retreats-there's always a chance to reflect quietly or join a gathering, while discussion circles help residents debate and share ideas. The community leans into social life with regular events, musical gatherings, arts and crafts sessions, and garden projects, so every day can look a little different if you want it to, and there are chances to volunteer or help out in community service too. Living options come in different shapes and sizes, with studio, single, and two-bedroom apartments, semi-private and private rooms, and resort-style touches like WiFi, cable TV, kitchens or kitchenettes, a dining room serving meals, and even a salon or barbershop. For those needing help, staff offer support with dressing, bathing, grooming, medication management, and walking or wheelchair assistance, plus transportation for errands or appointments.

Safety runs throughout the building, with handicap access, handrails, and sprinkler systems in place, and there's an eye on privacy with secure areas for memory care residents. Cedar Highlands also offers laundry, housekeeping, maintenance, and other services to take the pressure off daily chores, so people can focus on enjoying what's important to them. Staff stay well-trained through mentorship, career support, and wellness programs, and a supportive culture helps everyone keep learning and growing. If someone only needs short-term relief, respite care is available as well. Cedar Highlands, as a part of the Belamour Care network, keeps things simple and welcoming, allowing community members to contribute and socialize, while tailored care plans help meet each person's needs for comfort, health, and meaning.
