    Summary of reviews

Tender Hearts Assisted Living receives frequent praise for its warm, home-like atmosphere, attractive grounds, and comfortable living spaces. Many families described bright, spacious rooms, accessible bathrooms, and outdoor areas that support resident comfort and socializing. The facility is noted for a family-run feel; reviewers frequently referenced a welcoming admission experience and a positive dining environment.

Care and staffing were a central theme with both strong positives and notable inconsistencies. Reviewers commended compassionate caregiving staff, attentive interactions, and specific clinical strengths such as nurse-manager leadership, effective pain management, and an established hospice partnership for end-of-life care. At the same time, accounts indicate variable staffing levels and differences in staff competence and responsiveness. These operational inconsistencies manifested as rushed shifts, occasional late staff arrivals, and instances where family members felt basic requests were not promptly addressed. Prospective families should verify current staffing patterns and inquire about clinical oversight for complex needs.

Dining and activities are generally strengths. Multiple comments describe home-style, nutritious meals, healthy menu options, all-day snacks, and a pleasant dining room. The program mix includes regular exercise classes, cultural events, and social offerings such as Friday Happy Hours. However, there are mentions of meal-service continuity problems and uneven activity delivery; some families experienced missed meals or limited programming at times. Clarifying daily schedules and meal procedures during a tour is advisable.

Facility upkeep and operations present a mixed picture. The exterior and common areas are well-maintained, and many reviewers found the interior clean and comfortable. Conversely, a subset of reviews raised sanitation concerns in specific resident rooms, overflowing trash handling, and delayed maintenance responses (for example, slow follow-up on routine fixes). Several accounts also indicated weaknesses in laundry and personal-item handling that could put residents' belongings at risk. These indicate operational areas where tighter processes and oversight would benefit resident safety and family confidence.

Management and administration earned both commendation and criticism. Some families described the owners and management as caring and approachable; others reported unreliable follow-through on verbal promises, pricing increases without clear communication, and operational disruption following ownership or management transitions. Multiple reviewers recommended obtaining written agreements to ensure commitments are documented. Capacity is also a consideration: there are reports of limited room availability, which may affect placement options.

Overall, Tender Hearts appears to offer a supportive, family-oriented environment with strong social programming, pleasant living spaces, and many staff who are described as caring and attentive. At the same time, prospective residents and families should probe current staffing consistency, written policies around agreements and pricing, laundry and personal-item procedures, and maintenance response times during their assessment. Touring the facility, meeting current clinical leadership, and requesting sample care plans and written contract terms will help clarify whether the facility’s strengths align with an individual resident’s needs.

    About Tender Hearts Assisted Living

Tender Hearts Assisted Living sits at 300 Cardinal Ln in Green Bay, Wisconsin, and the place really has a homelike feel, with spacious areas, comfy suites, family photos, and familiar touches spread around so no one starts feeling like they're lost in a big institution, and you've got all those daily comforts like private rooms with a bed, dresser, nightstand, fridge, and even cable TV. Safety is everywhere with secured entry doors, video surveillance, emergency alert systems, and 24-hour call response, and the whole facility stays locked and supervised so folks who wander-like those with dementia-stay safe. The staff calls their care "A Tender Touch," and, being family-owned, they put a lot of personal care into each person's routine, so people get help with things like bathing, dressing, medication, moving around, and eating special diets like diabetic or allergy-friendly meals, all managed by a nurse with over twenty years' experience, which makes a real difference to residents dealing with serious illness or the end of life.

People who live here get lots of chances to socialize and stay active, thanks to daily activities that range from bingo and exercise classes to music shows, holiday parties, religious services, and hobby groups, plus a media room for movie nights, computer space, games, outings, trips, and a community garden by the walking paths. The outdoor areas, like the garden, and indoor lounge rooms are both mapped out with wheelchairs and walkers in mind, so there aren't any tight corners or steps to trip on. Residents also have access to a beauty salon and barber, a kitchen to heat up a snack, and even a hot tub spa for relaxing. Staff can help with things like insulin, oxygen, and catheters, and you'll see all sorts of support for memory care, including a secure dementia care unit, regular check-ins, and individualized care plans.

Housekeeping, laundry, linen changes, and even parking and transportation (for a fee) come with the service, and all the meals, both standard and vegetarian, get handled by kitchen staff used to working with elders who need softer foods or special diets. Tender Hearts has activities onsite and offsite, provides respite care for families needing a short break, and hosts guest meals in a friendly dining room. There's an easy-to-follow family involvement program with regular updates, so people can check on their loved ones without a hassle, and the place takes Medicaid, which helps a lot of families manage costs.

With trained nurses and caregivers on site and on call all day and all night, plus primary care, psychiatric, lab, physical, and occupational therapy services as needed, the health side stays covered whether someone's rehab, palliative, or chronic care. The leadership and staff put an effort into keeping everyone's information private and secure too, which many families appreciate. Tender Hearts Assisted Living doesn't sell itself as perfect, but people often comment on the peace of mind, steady care, and home-like atmosphere, and you'll always find a full event calendar, FAQ, blog, and other information upfront so families know exactly what's available.
